November 29, 2013 - 5 Nights of Magic in the Western Caribbean!!

Hello LeslieG!

So great to have more OH peeps on the cruise!! It's going to be a great cruise!
What part of OH is everyone from? We are from Hilliard, a Columbus suburb. :yay:

While this picture may be of our arrival at PC for a cruise on the Dream, you remember that "Magic"al feeling as you arrive port and catch your first glimpse of the ship. So as you sip your coffee/tea this morning, close you eyes and imagine, we are only 71 Days from this feeling :)

What a great picture!!! I just got goosebumps!!!
Steph

Yeah that was a picture from our first ever cruise this past January. I was so excited driving up to the port and catching my first sight of the Dream. Magical moments....sigh...

We have seen that view 11 times at various ports of call and seeing those white mouse ears NEVER gets old or looses it thrill!!
::yes::

I was checking out the FE list today as I want to start designing the FE Gifts and I noticed there are a TON of missing names for staterooms:confused3
Since the cruise is getting closer and closer and the FE list will need to be cut off at some point in time so we can have a final count...I was wondering if people could go in and fill out their names and missing info:confused3

Yes if everyone would check the list and either post or PM me the missing info for your stateroom. THANK YOU :)

I see that it says yes for us for the FE, but we are not planning on participating at this time. My kids are a bit older and weren't interested when I brought it up. I have looked at the list and see that there are a lot of kids with similar ages though, excited about that.

But I can add our info in case we do a meet or anything. We don't have a room yet (GTY) so hopefully will know in about two weeks. Second seating for dinner
Redmomof4=Shawna (40)
DH=Jamey (41)
DD (11)= Isabelle
DS (13)= Blake
DS (16)= Conor

It is super hard to cruise with older kids affordably (I know many of you know), and our school has some "different" issues. Such as FB games and practice over MEA (Minnesota Educators ASsoc) week (mid OCT)- no school THurs-Sun but we have a game Wed and practices over the weekend. Our high school hosts a boys basketball tourney over winter break (Dec 26-27). And...no week off for Spring BREAK! What the heck (can you tell we are transplants? Only been here two years). So anyway, unless we cruise during the summer-which we have but prefer to leave the dreary weather, we have a hard time. With one kid taking two college courses as a junior I hate to have them miss much.

Why I"m saying all this, our cruise is still tenative. We have "cancel for any reason" insurance and if grades are sliding, homework isn't caught up, or (heaven forbid) we make the State Championship Football Game again-Which would be on 11/30 (We won class 3A state last year) we will be canceling :confused3 Hence another reason I didn't do the FE. I so hope to be able to meet you all! Counting down the days!! :beach:

Good Morning Everyone! Only 65 days to go:banana::banana::banana: We are thinking of going back to Paradise Beach in Cozumel, but can't decide what to do in Grand Cayman. Thinking of Stingray City excursion, but not sure if we should stick with Disney or find a private operator. What are your plans for Grand Cayman?

We are from Powell (north of Columbus) so we are almost "neighbors". :)

Info update for DisDreamers: Connie DW, Brian DH, Kevin DS, Sara DD

Going snorkeling/Stingray City while in Caymans. Did this for our honeymoon many years ago and loved it! :banana: My husband wanted to book outside Disney so we are doing Capt. Marvin's.

We are doing the Family Beach Day at Tiki Beach. We wanted to keep it relaxing. I am staying on the ship in Cozumel. We have been there before. My DH is going diving.

Which excursion are you taking?

We will be relaxing in Cozumel, relaxing is always good. Is your DH going diving with Disney?

Yes it's a Disney excursion. He is not certified but would like to work towards it. This dive will count towards his certification. I have tried it and it's just not for me.

Anyone doing the Fury Catamaran in Cozumel?
We were thinking about it, they have an excursion that is longer and includes lunch if you book it by yourself, but returning time is very close to our departure.

My husband is certified and wants to go diving on our next cruise in March.

Not sure what the Madhatter is in the comments. I think it's from the family listed before ours.

We are so excited! We were just trying to figure out our gifts last night. :)

Thanks for the updated info. I will be updating the list today.

Keep the info coming guys......

The FE list has been updated! Here is the link. There is an extra bit of DCL Magic in this list...

A. I updated the layout. I like the new layout a lot. I hope you do too.

B. Click on the "Reimagined" image and you will be taken to a calendar that you can post at home or work to help count down the days!

C. I would like to setup a Dis Meet-up. I've tentatively selected 10:30 am on our 1st day at sea for Eye Scream. On our last cruise they set the meet up before the sail away party. Not many came because they were busy making reservations, switching dining, and just getting settled in. If you have a better suggestion, please us know.

ENJOY!

We always had our meet-up at 3:00pm before the drill and it worked out, but 10:30am on Saturday sounds good to us :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Yeah I am open to whatever the majority decide. I know we did not make the meet. We waited almost an hour on the Dream to change our dining. Then we wanted to get settled in and get out spa passes. Time just got away from us. It was sad because several cruisers switched their room and we could not find them. I was told later that only a few showed up for the meet. We ended up taking FE stuff home. Let's see what everyone else thinks. 57 days to go!!!!
