Jonesing,

Our anniversary is 12/31 as well. Last year we celebrated our 10th. We were going to go on a cruise, but the prices were staggering. I also need to keep the ccs hidden from my DW. She is plotting a plan to buy some sort of precious jewel on the cruise. My mission is to foil all here attempts. :rotfl:

That is one thing I got lucky with. My DW likes to shop, but knows her limit. I think it is myself that needs to stay out of the electronics stores when I am down there.

LOL .. . I'm loving all the jewelery conversations. My goal was to purchase a nice looking new watch. Mine is shot. I had to laugh when dh was fussing about our St. Thomas excursion. It's all day and he wanted to go shopping in St. Thomas. I kept trying to explain to him that unless we had the extra dough to buy some really nice stuff, I didn't want the temptation (I'd really like a 3+ carat diamond ...). We'll see . . .

Only one more day until our FIRST LEGO robotics competition . . . then I can finally think of packing, sand, surf, chocolate souffles . . instead of bent LEGO axels, irratic programming, and talking about oyster floats . . .LOL. It will be a fun day, but I'm ready for a long break!

Have super day!

Theresa 8-)

45 degrees in VA today
87 degrees in St. Thomas . . .

Egads, all this talk of keeping the womenfolk away from the CCs. I guess it is a good thing that all the CCs with really GOOD credit limits are in my name. :rolleyes1

Actually, I HATE to shop. I will end up shopping but only because of the diva child. DD and DH go to the mall on the mornings that I get to sleep in. We all need new Tiva's but I was willing to forgo them. DH has now scheduled our Tiva shopping excursion. :rotfl:

I am with Jon. I have to stay away from the electronics. I am a major gadget geek.

Jon, do we know how many are dressing for pirate night, how many a mini-dressing and how many are thumbs down? Only asking because you have done such an incredible job of keeping all the facts together.

I have not put that together, but I will. Look for it sometime later today or tomorrow.

For those of you that have answered the question about Pirate Night, I have gone through and updated Post #358 (Link at the bottom my signature). If you have not answered or you have and I missed it, please post and I will update.

Not suprising since his wardrobe consists mostly of khaki pants and single colored polo shirts.

DiaLady - While going through and looking at the posts, I think your Husband and I will get along fine. My wardrobe is mainly Khaki SHorts and single colored polos.

How did you get that done so fast?

jonesing - maybe we should have black Mickey tags instead of green!

I wouldn't mind picking up a sparkly birthday gift for myself on the islands. Unfortunately, I'm not a jewelry pro and I don't think I'd know if I was getting a good deal or not. Perhaps I should stick to regular souvenirs and get the big ticket items at home. You never know though.... ;)

I think there would be a couple of people that would help you with that. Especially if they get there credit cards taken away. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hey, all this talk about anniversaries and birthdays is making me think. I know - big mistake! Our 18th anniversary is Dec. 5th and hubby's birthday is Dec. 9th. Do you think they would do anything for us/him? We get off the ship on the Dec. 3rd, but it's so close.

I am planning on giving my husband a birthday card on the ship with some cash. He's always wanted a gold chain, and I thought this would be a nice surprise for him. A nice souvenior too.

Being a DH, I think you should have DCL do something for him. A white lie wouldn't hurt anyone. Maybe you should pamper him during the entire cruise and not make him do anything but lie by the pool. :teeth:

Hey lets take it a step further, why not have all the DWs pamper us DHs. We can relax and be waited on hand and foot for all the hard work we do as Dads and Husbands....

Just a thought!!!! :rotfl2:

Louie - Watch out, I think the DW's outnumber the DH's that are posting. I think we ALL should just sit back and relax at the pool with our favorite drinks and let Disney pamper us. :goodvibes

Oh Yeah! We are ALL taking a Disney cruise so it will happen. :cool1: :cool1:

As for the Birthday and Anniversary thing, it does not hurt to ask at Guest Services or the Head Server the first night.

We leave one week from tonight!!! This weekend's gonna be CRAZY! Gotta get all packed and pretty toes too! The on-going "thread" about keeping the cc's from DH is "very amusing", I do all the bill paying, vacation planning and money saving, my DH has no clue when his payday's are!

The last time I went on a Disney Cruise it was just a 4-day and they sold loose blue topaz and loose amethyst. I bought some of each and had my jeweler put them into settings for me (much cheaper in the long run). We are planning on going electronic's shopping, we want to buy DD a fairly inexpensive, but nice digital camera for Christmas and I also am in desperate need of a new watch.

I TOTALLY forgot the rest of what I was going to type, GEESH! I've been planning this trip (1 week at WDW, 7-day DCL) for 4 years to celebrate both our 20th anniversary (9/14/85) and my 40th birthday (12/25/65). We chose this date for our vacation because it was in the middle of both without being too close to hurricane season! So with all of us "almost" forty-year olds, we should have our OWN big birthday bash!

When I booked our cruise I told the DCL that we were celebrating both occasions, hopefully they'll do something for one of them! I also put the "Romance At Sea" package on DH's and my cabin (couples massage, pre-set Palo ressies, champagne turndown service one night, breakfast in bed one morning).

perk! >^..^< Electrnics stores?

ooooooo :bitelip: Truth be known, I can outshop most women...and since we have to visit family on Thanksgiving, you can imagine I'm upset about missing my annual Black Friday shopping crusade  But if there's electronics AND duty free shopping..... :cloud9:

There are plenty of Electronics stores while at St. Maarten and St. Thomas. Just make sure you have an idea of what you want ot buy ahead of time and know what the prices are. Although it may be Duty Free, If you do not know the prices ahead of time, you may end up paying more for it on the Islands then at your local Electronics store.

I will probably print out some prices of some things I am looking at. I probably won't buy anything :( but just in case I want to be prepared.

Do you think I can fit a 50 inch Plasma in my luggage to take home? :confused3 I've been eyeing a new TV...
