November 26, 2005/ 7 day Eastern Magic

Boo MC.

My son would love to send you son an email. Can you send me a note with his email address.

Louie, I sent you a PM with our info. Talk to you soon.

The high temperature in St. Thomas today is 86 degrees F with those refreshing tradewinds.

Can you feel it? Ship sails in 16 days . . .

We are in rooms 1051 & 1053. We have the 6pm dining and will all be dressing up for Pirate night! Can't wait for warmer weather. It's getting chilly here in Connecticut. My daughters ask me every day now how many more days until our cruise. They can't wait to stay up late and to meet new friends in the kids clubs. I have a question - how is the water on the ship? I will need to make a few bottles for my son when dh and I are off to Palo etc. and I'm not sure if they filter their water or if it'll be ok or what. Anyone know? Also, my daughters would love to email with others if anyone is still looking for email buddies.

Off to find my mickey heads and magnets - can't wait to meet all of you!

Kim,

Your info has been updated. Where in Ct are you located? I grew up in Easton(Near Bridgeport).

Kim, I just sent you a PM. Not sure about the water on board but I guess you could always bring a few bottles of bottled water just in case. Talk to you soon!

Kim,

I forgot to mention that the water is filtered and onDeck 9 at the soda machines they have water. I plan on bringing a couple of water bottles on board with us and then re-filling them.

Hey Guys :wave2: I am on a work trip and have not gotten the opportunity to check the thread for a few days. I feel as if I missed so much! I can wait for 16 more days! I still have not received my docs! Just talked to TA, I should get the docs. tomorrow or Saturday.

My DD and I will be dressing up for pirate night. I am shopping for the cruise on Saturday, so I will get the magnets then.

We're "kind of" dressing for Pirate Night. My Mom and and I found some great Pirate t-shirts at a local shop, plus we'll have our bandana's and eye-patches.

For the water question, I know you can purchase a case of water bottles on the ship, they're not cheap, but great for making baby bottles and also having water for shore excursions.

LGM:)

I miss reading for two days and you all go wild with messages. I have enjoyed reading and catching up.

DiaLady, thanks for keeping up with the weather. I have been checking it as well. I think I may even begin putting some shorts in the suitcase now. :rotfl: I have been worrying so much about it beening cold :cold: that I have been afraid to pack for the heat. I am still not convinced, but I will keep on checking the forecast.

Thanks to everyone that responded about the homework. You homeschoolers must have the patience of Job. I applaud you. But I know that I had better let someone else do the formal teaching and I do the support. I have several friends who homeschool.

As for magnets, mine are not that fancy but they will be useful.

Ok quick poll, are you dressing up for Pirate night pirate: ? My kids are, but DW and I are on the fence....

Our whole family is getting dressed up for the Pirate Night. I ordered costumes back in September. Even my usually quiet husband is joining in the fun! Guess he figured "if I can't beat em', join em"! My DD-3 and I even have matching costumes. Only 16 days and counting!

But I know that I had better let someone else do the formal teaching and I do the support. I have several friends who homeschool. It is great for them. I know that I don't have the demeanor or spirit to pull that one off. I had better stick with a different talent (driving the kids and the husband crazy with my fanatical disney planning) :earboy2:

I also asked that question for myself. I am working on a second master's degree and I have a major assignment due while on the DCL. I have written to my professor and asked to turn it later, but unfortunately, he wants it before the cruise. :earseek: I will be doing homework with the kids or on the ship. Has anyone used the internet on the ship before? The cost is a bit much, but it may be necessary in my case.

As for magnets, mine are not that fancy but they will be useful on the ship.

We will not be dressing for pirate night. However, we will be wearing flower print shirts. That is as piratey as we will be getting.

Well that's all for now. See you real soon. Someone had an actual countdown with days, hours, minutes, and seconds a few pages back. I would like to see it again.

EDDJMOM - I along with a couple of others had the countdown, unfortunately it has been disallowed to have it from that site.

Yep, it's the big 4-0 for me! :scared: I figured it'd be easier to face on a Disney cruise. DH just turned 40 a few weeks ago so it's kind of a combo present for both of us. See you soon!

Hey it's my 40th as well! :genie: Nov 19 but that cruise included Thanksgiving and the fare was too high for all of us to go.

From what I've read, the water is indeed filtered and fit for human consumption. However, we also need to make bottles and we are going to stop off at Publix or Wal-Mart to pick up whatever the others invariably will forget to bring ;) as well as some bottled water for us and Nursery Water for the baby. Nursery Water for those wondering is bottled water with flouride. We used to use it when Nathanael was a newborn but the doc recommended we use it on the trip now that started to teeth and should be cutting a tooth or two any week now. :teeth:

No just kidding, we have reservations for Thursday evening.

Jon - you are so good with the info.

Anybody plan thier trips for St. Martin? We are thinking of just hanging at the beach, or maybe try a non-disney arranged trip on a boat. I need to work at keeping my DW away from the jewlery shops. She has a gleem in her eye about an emerald.

Perhaps we should keep our DWs away from each other...especially at the port calls! :hyper2: DW is an artist, BFA Fine Arts with specialty in jewelry design and lapidary (gem cutting). As you can imagine, I need to hide every credit card we own :hyper: Of course if I find a sparkly bauble for a good deal, well I won't hesitate to echange it for Good Hubby points :love2: as our anniversary is 12/31 ;)

Speaking of Palo, we managed to book the only remaining online timeslot which is the evening of 11/26. Problem is Flounder's Nursery doesn't show *any* slots open for 11/26! :confused3 So, I was wondering if they are actually open and we should just try to reserve when we check in?

Also, since we're at Palo 11/26, which meal rotation should we get so that we don't miss the light show at Animator's Palate?

I'm not quite to 40, only a youthful 38 on the 19th. And yes, I agree the fare was wayyyyy too high for Thanksgiving week. Besides, we have cruised Thanksgiving week and found that the ships are a little less crowded the week after Thanksgiving, making for a nicer trip. 15 days and counting! :cheer2:

Keep the ressie for Palo and try to get a Flounders as soon as you board, or try to change your Palo. The concierge told me to keep any BAD ressies, I guess people with reservations take priority when it comes time to change/add times.

You will find your meal rotation at the ship. You can ask to adjust rotation &/or time onboard, but you will be scheduled 2 x at each restr.

Hope this helps.

Hello Everyone!

I finally got our documents from the TA! :cool1: We are also celebrating the single digit dance - 8 more days!

Homework: I've have sent in notes to my boy's teachers with the dates we will be missing and if they can send some work ahead of time. Unfortunately, none have sent any home yet. Hope they don't send it Friday before we go.

We are now in the low 40's here. Boy, do those 80 degree temps sound good! Can't you feel that warm sunshine on your face just thinking about it?

It's been fun reading everyone's messages! But, I really need to get off the computer and get packed!

Jonesing,

Our anniversary is 12/31 as well. Last year we celebrated our 10th. We were going to go on a cruise, but the prices were staggering. I also need to keep the ccs hidden from my DW. She is plotting a plan to buy some sort of precious jewel on the cruise. My mission is to foil all here attempts. :rotfl:
