November 24, 2012 ~ Western Fantasy ~ Pachyderms of the Caribbean

Hi Kathy:

Lucy and I are heading to Eureka, MO to visit our newborn grandson. Currently in Macon, GA and will leave early in the am. We will be there for one week and then head back to Clermont. My other daughter and her family will be at Disney for Thanksgiving week which means lots of visits to the parks. That Saturday we leave for the cruise and hopefully some relaxation. We are really looking forward to the cruise.

Dennis

Howdy Dennis,

Have fun seeing that new grandson.:cloud9:
Your going to be so busy that time will really fly by for you guys.

See you soon,

Kathy

I was just writing to say I was looking over the materials that Janice (Dizney-cruiser) sent over for the FE.

All I can say is wow...

Thank you very much Janice for putting all info together for us. Awesome work. It virtually takes out ANY guesswork out of delivering the FE gifts. Bravo.

ITA she did such an amazing job!!! :thumbsup2 huge thanks :wizard:

Can someone provide details about the barbecue at CC? I have seen various posts of people missing out because it wasn't advertised, or visible. What is y'all's experience?

Cookie's (BBQ) was right by the adult beach, if I recall. It wasn't really advertised when the lunch hours were, we just saw folks with food and followed the smells. :) I do remember the food being pretty good, but it was kind of hard to manage it on the paper plates, get your drinks, etc, all while walking on sand.

All free? I am trying to get acquainted with all this free food stuff and find it quite necessary to know where I can find all of it! ;)

Yup, it was all free (included). I believe the only food/drink you had to pay for on CC were adult beverages and packaged things, just like you would on the ship. :)

The times for lunch will be posted in the Navigator. I think the "Cookies" & "Cookies Too" (both for all ages) start first - maybe 11 am and then the Serenity Bay (for cruisers over 18) lunch starts at like 11:30 am - but you want to check your navigator each night. It will lists the times for all for all food options.

However, something that I don't think will be listed is there are "free" random snacks available in the Cove Cafe (for cruisers over 18 - but you can go in and get some for your younger cruisers) and I believe that Vista Cafe (site for our Meet & Greet) also serves random snacks.

If you are going to a movie they do not offer any food there. You can go up to Fillmore's, Luigi's or Tow Mater's and bring in anything you want! (or Cabanas. . . roomservice. . . )

Also, if you are new to cruising, it might be helpful to know that you can get extra copies of the navigator down at Guest Services. It comes in handy if some in your cruising party want to carry their own copy around, or if people want to highlight different things. I know some families bring a different color highlighter for each family member so everyone knows what each other are doing.

The navigator is also going to tell you which characters are where and at what times. You will also see the listings on an electronic board in the Atrium.

I will only be around for the next day or two to make any updates to the FE. After that, Jon (jjbescher) has volunteered to take over. He will also be handing out Maps and Spreadsheets at the meet for anyone that hasn't given us your email address, or loses their sheet.

Just to make sure that I have the latest information, I am currently missing the folllowing (and giving your email address is not mandatory):

If you do not currently have a stateroom number, I have had a request for your last name. If you don't mind posting that (so that someone that is heading out can at least request it when they get onboard), please let us know, or perhaps you could just pm it to Jon so he can get the info to pass on at the meet)

Thanks!

I know that I have - but it was several years back - either 2010 or more likely 2008 - I just went to the UPS store and they had what was needed. :thumbsup2

I found an example of the navigator - I chose this one as it is a Western Caribbean on the Fantasy - but the date is from April - so some things might have changed.

If you go to the last page, you will see the "Dining & Lounges" listing which shows:

Cookies: 11:30 am to 2:00 pm
Cookies Too: 11:30 am to 2:00 pm

I'm not seeing the times for Serenity Bay - but I'm still thinking it is about a half hour later than the other 2
