ya i totally havent started packing or organizing, etc. so im sorta freaking.
my todllers 2nd bday is RIGHT after we return so i also have to Plan his party NOW< before we leave, send out invites n stuff. EEEK . im just not that organized!!!!

I know that some pin trading goes on with the officers but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a pin trading meet onboard, maybe during one of the days at sea?

I know we would as my DD3 will be doing her first pin trading this trip. We will see how it goes at WDW first. I have a feeling she will like picking out pins and receiving, but not let someone take one of hers. We are going to have to talk her up to it. Luck us, we have a 10 - 12 hour car ride down.

I just talked to my sister who works for DCL and she saidCastaway Cay is closed due to storm damage. Disney is working on it day and night. It might be another week before they start accepting ships again. We should be fine.

There are 2 others besides myself who were talking about a pin trading meet, perhaps the first sea day around 9 a.m. before the events start for the day on the ship. 2 of us have several duplicate pins that we thought someone might like to trade for.

We didnt set an exact time yet but 9 seemed to sound good since most events on the ship start around 10. That way nobody would have to miss something they may want to do.

No sugestions on where to do this? Maybe the Vista Lounge? Thats where our meet is the first day so we will all know where it is.


Feel free to PM me and I will look back to see the names of the other 2 ladies. maybe we can set something up before the cruise so there's no confusion once on board.

So I booked an IGT room at the beginning of October. I was just wondering if anyone else had booked a *GT room and gotten their assignment yet. Waiting to see what room we get is driving me crazy (in a good way, of course ).

I wonder how often people are "upgraded" from their IGT rooms to OGTs or VGTs (I know its possible, got curious and called the Disney hotline), does anyone have any ideas on that? (I noticed a lot of verandahs for sale this past week). Either way, whatever room I'm in, its going to be the most awesome vacation

The *GT rooms are usually assigned about 11-12 days before the cruise so I am expecting to see them around Nov12. We are also IGT and anxious to get out assignment.

Hello everyone, DH and I are joining you "last minute" on this cruise, along with some good friends of ours. We booked about 3 weeks ago with the VGT rate. This is our 7th DCL cruise, and I think it's our 3rd one without the kids along (poor kids!) ha ha. Still waiting for our room assignment! Our friends booked just a couple days ago through the DVC deal, but they already know their room assignment. Oh well, as long as we are all on the ship........and I have a verandah........all will be well.

We did a Western a couple of years ago, but had a huge rainstorm on our Cozumel day (so didn't see much there). And Costa Maya will also be a new port for us. We are so looking forward to getting away from it all here in the cold Midwest.

Can't wait to see the Fantasy and to see it all decked out for Christmas! But we have so many bases to cover yet before we leave, that it seems overwhelming. We will certainly need a vacation by the time we board. Here's hoping we'll have smooth sailing!

There are six of us I think that are all waiting for our room numbers. It drives me when ever we book a GTY room, but you can get some good rates by doing that. We booked about 3 weeks ago so I am fairly new around here too.

We have got an upgrade 3 times, I think. Of course we have booked GTY rooms most of the time.

Upgrades happen when they can't sell their verandahs by close to cruise time, people want to buy inside rooms and insides are all sold out.

So in order to fill the ship, those who have already booked an inside or ocean view room will often get upgraded to a more expensive verandah and then DCL has no trouble selliing the lower priced inside rooms to fill the ship.

Who gets the upgrades are random picks as far as we can tell. It sure is a nice surprise when it happens!!

So the more verandahs that are unsold the better your chances for an upgrade.

Welcome aboard! We are in the Midwest and I am not liking the recent change to cold weather. I told my DH that I prefer wearing flip flops, and the current weather does not help me out with that.

We are counting the days to warmer weather and a fantastic cruise!,

I am Deb! Thanks for letting me know about the meet-up place and time. I don't mind waiting for the room assignment....I'm not overly worried. It is what it is! The last time we booked a VGT we got the best stateroom we had ever had.

I was sitting outside last night at a football game, and it was freezing! All I could think about was white sands and warm seas. AND the Quit Cove hot tub!

Yes, three weeks will fly by, so I should probably start making more of the arrangements--and start making piles of things to pack. I don't even have airline reservations yet, but I watch the prices every day. Flying the day after Thanksgiving doesn't offer very good rates at this point.
