November 21-24, 2014 Disney DREAM 3 night cruise to the Bahamas

My family and I will also be sailing on this cruise, and it will also be our first time! DH and I are very excited, but we haven't told the kids yet. I guess we're just waiting for the right (fun) time to tell them.:goodvibes
We have DD (13), DD (8), and DS (6)

This is the first time I have heard about Fish Extenders, sounds like it could be fun. I'll definitely need to check it all out! There is soooo much to see and do, it's almost overwhelming, but in a good way!! :yay:

Welcome! :cheer2:

I'll add you to the first post and to the "interested in joining the fish extender" group as well. :thumbsup2

I know what you mean by overwhelming. I'm glad I gave myself so much time before our cruise. There's lots to learn. :coffee: My "Disney Cruise Binder" is filling up!

I just realized that this was your first post on the DISBOARDS!!! Welcome! There's lots of good info and people here. :grouphug:

By no means a veteran as this is only our third cruise learning more each time, and there are many threads on what to do/not or pack/not, but from personal experience and a few things we learned our first time out,

1) Read and re-read the navigator left in your cabin each day (or now use the app). You can miss out on activity (outside of excursions) that will be listed there each day.
2) Take advantage of the children centre/club open houses to introduce your child to the fun inside (or give yourself comfort about).
3) Let stateroom/dining room staff know any preferences you may have. Many of the small things they will do will make your cruise special and more memorable.
4) If the pirate night/party interests you, think of bringing onboard some of your own pirate supplies for the evening. Supplies and props are sold on the ship and all will receive with their navigator pirate scarves, but many bring their own full costumes or accessories adding to the pirate theme and mood for the dinner and party.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

I am up for particating in a FE exchange. Only myself and DW this time out before our next, next fall (patiently waiting for the remaining 2015 sailings to be released).

I love the "Disney Cruise Binder" idea, might need to start my own as well. We are also planning on staying in Orlando for a few days to hit Harry Potter at Universal and Kennedy Space Center. It is a VERY good thing there's a decent amount of time to read about it all. Yet, I know there are some things that need to be decided sooner than later, before availability becomes a problem, I guess.

Has anyone made any decisions on the excursions they want to do?

Hello Everyone!
We will also be on this cruise. This will be our 1st with Disney. It will be myself & DS 4 & grandparents! I have been doing my research also & would love to participate in the FE exchange.

My family is doing the Fantasy Eastern in June and I am surprising my husband with November as our "honeymoon" cruise. We have never been this far from our kids before and I am a mix of neurotic and super excited. We would like to participate in the FE too.

Updated my info on who is coming.

Me, DH, DS 13, DS 11, & DD 2

Thanks for the insight! Seems like quite a few of us will be on our first cruise and any info helps! :thumbsup2

I have my "physical" binder but I just learned of a cool online tool called Live Binders. I may look into that because all of my documents are on the computer anyway and this way it would be easier to share info. I'll let you know how that works out now that my laptop is fixed.

Have you been to Harry Potter yet? It is absolutely FABULOUS!!!!
We are looking into seeing the space center since we will be so close. I think it would be a cool extra thing to add to this trip. Since I make my family go to WDW as often as possible, I always try to add different things into each trip to keep it interesting.

Room 1 DD-11 DD-3 DH and myself
Room 2 DMIL and DFIL
Room 3 DN-9 DN-2 DSIL and DBIL
First cruise for all of us.

We are part of the group with gadisfamily and we are interested in the fish extenders as well. Its all new to us. :)

:welcome: Brooksdisneycruise
Brooksdisneycruise & gadisfamily - Please check my info. I don't want to confuse your rooms and if you don't mind, could you let me know room numbers? Private message me if you would like.

Room 1: Brookdisneycruise - DW, DH, DD11, DD3
Room 2: DMIL & DFIL
Room 3: gadisfamily - DW, DH, DD9, DD2

and are all 3 rooms participating in the FE?

:cheer2: Welcome! I updated our first post to reflect your info. Please feel free to share tips with all us 1st time cruisers! :flower3:

There's a website called LiveBinder where you can organize your files, websites, etc. I made one for our cruise, and it's a lot easier to share than my printed binder.

Please feel free to check it out. I have tabs for Planning, Packing, Fish Extenders, Navigators, Deck plans, etc. I will probably continue to update it up until the cruise.

If it asks for an access code, put DCL 2014

If you indicated an interest in participating in our fish extender group, I have sent you a PM. Please check and reply. Happy planning!!!:surfweb:
