November 2014 Car Rentals

Try ... 76892 promo code at dollar ..well if you don't need to pick up at MCO and can get from DTD (if staying at WDW) then it would be about $165 all in.

From MCO it's more expensive. But I just did my change going from DTD to RSW 11/22-12/6 all in for $389 on a premium vehicle. Mind you from a size perspective a standard or full size might be better. We'll have to see.

I keep looking for Alamo to come in lower so that I can walk over to the Dolphin to pick it up rather than go to DTD and walk to Wyndam though. :coffee:

Thanks. I don't think that is enough of a savings for me to change what I have, but it makes me hopeful it might continue to get a little better!

The nice thing about using National is that you can usually find a minivan on the Emerald Aisle at the midsize rate. But if the Alamo minivan rate is cheaper than National midsize, then obviously that is a better deal.

We have to have a minivan this trip. Will have 2 little grandchildren with us that require car seats plus their parents. Can't take the chance that there might not be one on the aisle.

I have to have a minivan every trip (5 kids). I book a National midsize and also the cheapest minivan I can find, regardless of brand. I head to the Emerald Aisle and look for a minivan (or Suburban). If I find one, I cancel the minivan booking on my phone. If not, I cancel the National midsize booking on my phone and go with my reserved other brand minivan. In 10+ times doing this, only one time have I not found a minivan or Suburban on the Emerald Aisle and had to use my "backup" higher priced reservation, and that was at Boston Logan airport.

(Note: I am executive elite at National so I get to pick from that aisle, which may help me out. In any event, its no risk--I figure its worth my time to walk to the National aisle and check, as 90+% of the time I end up saving $100-150.)

How does this work, you can just choose a minivan and not pay an up charge?

If you are a Costco member, their rates have dropped twice this week for November.

I've now got my Fullsize reservation for the 12 - 19 down to $168.50, and that's with an additional driver.

rangerxenos,

What codes are you using? I am going on the exact dates, but I can't get my mid-size car below $175.20.

I just found using the city special option for Dollar(not using any other promo code)to have a great deal for my 11/15-11/19/14 trip. I've got a ressie for $94.93 INCLUDING all taxes and fees for a mid-size. When I first starting watching, it was $162 and even earlier this week was $114. Anytime I'm under $100, I'm a happy girl!

Because this was a short trip, I was contemplating just using Magical Express, but for this price, it's worth getting the rental car for my impatient DH.

I'm just booking directly from Costco travel, I haven't had to enter any codes. I just randomly check every few days.

We are renting from Tampa Airport. I booked a full sized for $195 using Disney passholder and $30 off coupon (AD2338FDF). Thrilled to finally see it under $200. I could have booked a compact for $155 but we need the luggage space. Dates 11/05-11/10

I reserved a Ford Edge for Sunday am to Friday am (11-16 - 11/21.) The price displayed $309 including fees & taxes. After I clicked the rent it button, the price changed to $342. I sent an email a couple days ago but never received a response. I will call to follow up. It's still a better price than what Alamo & National quoted me (a couple hundred different because they don't have an equivalent rental category is my guess). Has anyone else experienced this?

Interesting play on number of rental days...the cost for renting Sunday - Wed. Was much higher.

Everyone should check alamo. I was just able to get a rental down from $175 to $114. Picking up at MCO dropping off at FLL. Used Costco code & $30 off united Airlines coupon. Pick up Nov 22 drop off Nov 29

We have never had to - we always check in on line to bypass or use the kiosk

I just got a Hertz rental on Priceline for $219, 8 days all taxes & fees included.

Rates are dropping as my Dollar weekly res dropped from $145 to $129 (all-in) for a sub-compact which had me happy till I grabbed a Budget sub-compact for $105 (all-in) through Costco this morning for the week leading up to Thanksgiving.

Is that United coupon valid? Alamo says it expires June 2014....yet it's still accepting it. :confused3

I wonder if this might pose a problem at pickup.
