November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

PS. We still do character dining! CRT for dinner this trip. My youngest FINALLY started waiting in character lines in 2010, but we still love characters! MICKEY'S BBQ, Chef Mickeys & CRT are some of our favorites. We miss Liberty Tree Tavern colonial characters!

I just got so happy reading that Mickey's BBQ is one of your favorites. I keep questioning it because of all the negative reviews but I really think my family would like it so I keep hanging onto it.

Good Evening ALL!!

Whew what a emotionally draining and physically exhausting day!! After nearly and hour and 45 min. on phone and finally getting my ADR for BOG- went to work- saw my patient, then drove 2 hours to this mall in Newark DE to take Rachel school shopping----she heard me talking about it and just had to go. Just got home and I am sooooooooo tired!! its been such a long day. Congrats to all those who were fortunate enough to perervere and get those ressies and for those who didn't I truly understand how frustrated you all must be. But don't give up as said before, I am sure there will be cancellations...keep trying.

All our plans are now finally set in place and all I need now is to finish paying off trip and get our airfare---oh and I heard today that I was approved for the extra 3 days at end of trip. Yay!! So all in all, we added a total of 4 days!! So excited

You did have a long day. But it sounds like a productive one!!

I was so bummed when they took the colonial characters away from Liberty Tree. It was on my to do list the year it happened. O'well now I have a reservation there for lunch so I can try the fried cheese and toffe cake.

I hope you enjoy your meals. I picked up my ADRs at the 180+10 mark as well. That is an advantage to staying on property. I even scored a 8am BBB appointment for DD for pre-rope drop. I am excited as it is still a suprise.

Yes, KB, that's what I did; I jumped as soon as it was 180 days out and got everything we wanted including the elusive Le Cellier, Cape May Cafe CP, and CM. I'm very happy. I saved one for BOG today and didn't get thru until there weren't any left, but at least I tried. Maybe we'll get a cancellation or get lunch there or eat at Gaston's Tavern (as long as there's no spitting. LOL)! Your little sweetie will love your BBB surprise! Who do you think she will choose to be made up as? You're going to have as much fun with that as she is!

Exactly... I got the ADRs I wanted because I planned in Advance... It's crazy to get all bent out of shape over a lunch or dinner reservation. And to be so jealous that you get mad at a complete stranger on the Internet? Seriously..... People need to get over it... And keep trying! It's 3 months away - lots of things can happen between now and then!

I got all of mine, also because I planned (all but BOG ). I could never get mad at people that are on here just because they got an ADR and I didn't. Next time maybe I'll get one and they won't; that's just the way life works.

And the guy used having 2 ADR's for the same place as being nasty to others somehow... I have 2 CRT's b/c we want to see what breakfast is like and dinner...how is that rude if it was available to me?
We also have an 8am BBB that my DD3.5 is Thrilled about! I wasn't trying to be braggy about our ADR's, it's just the point that I should somehow feel guilty b/c I managed to make them...gimme a break. And I want to add that I absolutley LOVE this thread and EVERYONE on it. Why do we seem so reasonable and lovely compared to all those other wackadoo's out there?

I know of someone else that got two diff ADRs for BOG and I thought to myself, "Wow, and I only want one!" But, she also had them available and she's either going to use both or check her itenerary and see which one fits her schedule best; then she may cancel one. It's those cancellations that will allow some of us who missed out to get an ADR later on. It will all workout with out be nasty to each other. I'm just going to be patient and wait. As for your daughter's BBB ressie's, I don't think that's bragging at all. I just think that your sharing your good news with us!

Yes! That's what I always say and it works. It's wonderful to have something new and special to highlight that next trip your going to enjoy planning !!!!

I've never been, but I've heard that Mickey's BYBBQ is one of the best eaten' and most fun ways to spend an evening that most guests have yet to discover. Please go and report back to us. From what I hear it's the biggest bang for your buck and some guests love it better than the HDDMR except that the MBYBBQ isn't on a year round basis. ENJOY IT!

Yea, it was a bit ridiculous. At least she had the courtesy to make 2 calls...lol...the kicker was they weren't on the days they needed reservations either. I wish I had gotten a reservation after 2.5 hours on the phone, but I didn't. DD is 2 we will have more time to see it, and the next trip she will probably be more excited over it. Even though she does love Belle, and sings with her. Glad it wasn't my reservations I would have stuck it to them, but I am a really blunt person. Between growing up in the South Side of Chicago, being a former Parole officer, and then a teacher. I really can care less what others think. Not like any rules were broken. I will keep my hopes up for a ressie. Granted only open for an hour and a half that day,but I will try again if not it will be something new NEXT time.

Now I am off to bed. It's been a long frustrating day. Until tomorrow

A lot of guests are disappointed and I'm surprised that they never returned them. WE ate there for my first time (dinner) right before they did away with characters. The food was okay, more than enough and good enough (although not like a home cooked Thanksgiving dinner, but I was fine about that). But, the character interaction was great! We didn't even have kids with us and the costumed CM were so generous with their time with us and for photos and spending time with our table talking and joking. The waiters were so friendly as well. We had a wonderful experience there, but I think that I have to say that the characters were an important part of the overall success in our meal experience. Darn, the sticky toffee pudding sounds delicious, but we had some apple crummy cobbler thing.

Can I just say, whew! Y'all have worn me out with all this BOG stress. LOL finally got caught up on the thread for today. Congrats to all those that got one or more ressies today. Glad I didn't get in on the craziness this morning. We may do CS when are there. But everything will be new to us so I figured we'd leave BOG for next time.

I'm still hoping to come across a dinner Ohana ressie before the trip. Otherwise I'm pretty satisfied with our TS plans for our new dates.

No Erin, I won't wait too much longer, but I had to wait to see if I was going to get approved for those last few days. I am kind of surprised they gave it to me. I just started with this company in May and I already took a week off when we went to Williamsburg and now I will have a full 2 weeks in Disney- that's alot for only working part-time and being new. I guess they like me and want me to stay idk but whatever I am very happy right now. I plan to book within next few days.

SO glad you got the time off!!!!! now you can finalize everything. Im just waiting til sept til the golf is released then I can book that and be done with everything and cancel the one not needed breakfast and everything will be set. Now if I could bring myself to cancel F! with MM for BOG...id be set. still cant do it
