Count us among the November planners. We were planning to do a Feb trip, but found out the DD has a major cheer competition the week we were planning for. Now we are plannig to do Nov 15th- Nov 21st in an attempt to catch both the christmas party and free dining. We have done Thanksgiving a couple of in the past and really enjoyed it. More so when we can arrive late the week before. Here's hoping that free diding follows the same pattern as the last couple of years and ends the Thursday before thanksgiving. There is no way we could check in any earlier than that becuase we both have to be at work though at least Wed. of that week.

Im thinking I may upgrade to the photopass+ !!
Q. I pre-purchased a PhotoCD online before my vacation, can I upgrade to PhotoPass+?

R. Yes, if you pre-purchased a PhotoCD online before your trip you may upgrade your PhotoCD to PhotoPass+ at PhotoPass view stations throughout the Walt Disney World Parks, Downtown Disney, and select Resorts. You will need the name, phone number, and email address that was used to purchase the PhotoCD.

Is it possible to book the rooms now without a code so I can start booking dining at the 6th month mark and then call back to apply a code later on? Just trying to get everything lined up for November.

Yes I always call and book what I want, the get the ADR's I want. If i get a room code or FD I call back and add it :cloud9: That way u know u have your room :lovestruc

:welcome: I will add you!

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes Its the start of a brand new week. Just think of all the planning possibilities. :lovestruc

yes it is and since there were no coupons this week, I have all the time in the world :cloud9:

I am going to do it! :cloud9: DH said yes and my family thinks it sounds neat to have ALL the pics this time!! :woohoo: :cool1:

We like photopass because being only the 3 of us, it gives us a chance to get some great pictures together. I bought it for November at the $99 pre-visit price. I will probably think twice next time looking at the current cost.

I am a little frustrated though about when November hours will be out, date able to make ADR & Southwest next flight schedule. It is simply not happening in the order I wish :headache:

Its not happening in the order I wish either! I need hours so I can plan ADR's and flights! Since I dont have to rush back to work, when we get back, I want to maximize our touring time to the fullest!

So, in my WDW fantasy, it would be
WDW hours
SW flights
ADR

Right now, for us, it is
WDW - in a few weeks
ADR - May 10
SW flights -May 21 - grumbly about this because I want to know arrival & departure before ADR. We usually do a celebratory 'we are here' meal & a 'till next time' meal. Nothing earth shattering, but not the way I believe it should happen in my WDW planning mind! :lmao:

We should see tentative hours released to travel agents in about 2 weeks or so. easywdw usually has the link up quickly.

Thats how our schedule looks :headache:

I find the new photopass interesting, because we bought quite a few ride photos last year. But I also pre-ordered, and the fact that there's no pre-order discount makes it less appealing. I don't think we'll buy enough ride photos to make it worthwhile at full price.

But I do LOVE the regular photopass. It's so nice to be able to get shots with the whole family in them, and I don't have a camera that can get decent night time shots of the castle and and Osborne Lights, etc.) If I had a more serious camera, I might not buy the photopass, either.

I agree on the flights thing... I am always an early planner, but I don't recall having to wait so long to book flights on Southwest. It seems like they're releasing them extremely late this year. But I'm glad to hear park hours will be out in two weeks... I'll get to go back to my Disney planning again once I have something to do!

I hope everybody has a great Easter Sunday!

I pre=ordered the photopass already and I think I may be leaning towards the upgrade. Its only $100 more, BUT I am waiting to see what ADR's we have. We have all those meals on our list already:cloud9:

Hi All! I'm a newbie to the boards here and can't wait to join the discussion.

We just got back from WDW yesterday (stayed at Bay Tower@Contemporary), and we had a WONDERFUL time. Crowds were fine and we were able to do everything we wanted.

We are going back at the end of November and CAN'T WAIT! :woohoo: We're going primarily to see Mickey's Very Merry Christmas. :santa: We went to the Not-So-Scary last year so we wanted to try something different this year.

Called CS @ Disney and they said codes won't go out yet for November but I continue to call and check my mail hoping I'll be surprised with a PIN code.

We didn't have the Dining Plan for this trip we just took and I really wish we had it.

Yay! I will add you :welcome: When we went this past Dec for a quick trip, we encountered a couple with their son there for the first time, they didnt purchase the dining plan and they were 3 days into their 9 day trip. They had almost blown their budget on food. A couple WDW vets convinced them to go to the check in desk and add the dining plan. Some ppl dont like it but I totally LOVE it!

Tell me about Fantasmic! I have never seen it and would like to include this in our plans. If you have seen the show, do u eat at HBD or MM?

We have seen the show and eaten both places. You don't HAVE to have the dining package to see the show, you would just need to stand in line to get a seat. If you do the dining package, be aware that those are NOT the best seats in the house. They are off to the right of center by a good way. It was worth it for us with a small child thanksgiving week, but we aren't planning to do it this year. HBD is more expensive, and more upscale. MM is good italian, and a bit cheaper for the package. If you are using DDP, HBD is 2 credits, where MM is only one. It really depends on what you want and how much you are willing to spend.

is week of thanksgiving bad week to go thinking of doing magic kingdom thanksgiving day and stayiong at aoa, do the codes work for thanksgiving week

We have traveled Thanksgiving week since 2008. Typically, there aren't any discount codes for that week, but FD has ended the Thursday before Thanksgiving the last 2 years. If you can arrive on that day it would be good for your full stay. In 2010, we got a pin code that was good for FD over Thanksgiving week, but I have never seen a GP discount.

Thanksgiving week is crowded, and more so the closer you get to the holiday. Wed-Sat are usually 10 out of 10 crowd days. It is the third most corwded week after Christmas and Easter. Iti s doable, if you have realistic expcetations and are willing to get to the parks at rope drop. I would NOT advise MK on Thanksgivng day, especially with small children. It will be PACKED. You would be better off in another park.

I would strongly advise against Thanksgiving day...but of course I dont like crowds

They have offered FD before Thanksgiving and for the last 2 yrs the sat right AFTER Thanksgiving too. Crowds are lower the week BEFORE Thanksgiving and then are at a 10. They thin out AFTER Thanksgiving typically by that sunday Maybe move your stay just a few days either way? U may be glad you did(crowd wise) ;)

We are planning a trip the Saturday before thanksgiving and leaving the day after. How are crowds usually during that time?

Any time people can go when kids are out of school, the parks are very busy. From what I understand, crowds pick up over that weekend prior to Thanksgiving buildilng over the next few days until Thanksgiving itself when it will hit 8 to 10 on the crowd indes.

VERY busy.

Don't expect discounts.

Not sure where to post this question, but this seems like a general November planning thread while we wait for a discount. So here goes:

I am going 11/24-12/1

Thanksgiving is quite early this year, so I was wondering what the effects of this are on the Christmas parade taping in the Magic Kingdom. I read that it is usually the first weekend in December. Will it wait until 12/6 to start or will it be 11/29.

This could really affect those of us going the week after Thanksgiving if they tape early.

Does anyone have any wisdom on this?

I'm back! fell off the face of the planet for a bit. I swear it's been at least a month or more since I've been on the DIS. Work took over, then my Uncle passed away and a week later my Grandpa (his father). I also became a travel agent with Love the Mouse Travel in addition to my regular full-time job. So it's been crazy. Hoping I can catch up on this thread though!!!! :thumbsup2

You know.....somehow I have managed to completely forget about this event. We do try to avoid it.

It looks like the event is taking place Thursday, Nov. 29 - Sunday, Dec. 2 with taping on Saturday, Dec.1.

I try to avoid it.... this past year, I switched my park days to avoid it. Our last MK day is friday the 30th so I am hoping it doesnt effect my planning :headache: :faint:

Anybody doing the photpass+? We are planning to do many of the dining choices listed on the list. I think it maybe worth it.

I am rethinking my dining choices to include Fantasmic! Maybe doing H&V because MM and HBD just dont sound appitizing to my. Thoughts?
