So how far is everyone from paying off their trip? I have about a 1/3 left to go! Then spending money!

I am a little more than half paid off so far, but right on budget, as I have a spreadsheet that shows how the payments go without any other discounts available. The last payment will be last week of August as it stands right now, about 3 weeks before the 45 day deadline

I just booked officially!!!! November 30 - December 3rd for a Sister Trip! I went through Dave's Vacation Club Rentals so I'm no longer looking for a discount code (the price was too good for a Deluxe). But I love this thread because everyone's so nice so I'm going to stay on it to be excited with all you November people

When u do DVC can you get the dining plan or not?

You can add on the Dining Plan, but you cannot get it for free if you rent points from a member. If you get a DVC rental through the Disney Website and pay full price, then they will include any discount that's available. However, when booking with Dave you're getting the points from someone and the discount is already so great that DVC members do not get the Free Dining. It's a toss up, but Id rather save money on the hotel since the Dining Plan always seems like too much food for me!

I did MVMCP and the dessert party last year...LOVED the dessert party :cloud9: I like MVMCP but I liked MNSSHP better....if it wasnt for my kids going to the MVMCP for the first time this year, we wouldnt do it again. Its ok but the lines for cookies/cocoa is supper long. We actually did the dessert party DURING MVMCP.....I think I will do the dessert party again this year if its offered when we are there

Thanks for the insight! My son will just be two when we take this trip. The dessert party is a must, if for no other reason than not having to fight for a spot where he can see the fireworks. I think he'd love the Christmas parade and snow on main street too. Decisions, Decisions :)

So, I called tonight to see if we had a pin, and we did. The lady couldn't figure out what it was for. First, she said free dining..., but next she said, wait, no it's not  Next she said there was an old code next to our name for free dining, but it expired (which I knew we had one expire on the 31st). So, after playing around with it she said it is a 30 percent off room discount:thumbsup2

Now, the problems... (again, we are staying Nov. 24-30th). She said that AOA was not included (expected)
Next we checked POR and POFQ, and both were sold out of discount rooms:scared1:

But, we can book two rooms at CBR:cool2:
the code saves about 800 dollars from Rack Rate.

Now, time to get the family together :grouphug: and decide it that's what we want. We could just do AOA for about 200 more at a family Suite.

Any Suggestions?

That's exciting! :dance3: Not only is it awesome you were able to get a PIN, but it also gives me hope that I might get one too...maybe

The savings seem to be pretty good, at the CBR :thumbsup2...have you tried looking at the CSR? It's a gorgeous resort, and I found it to be in a great spot in relation to all of the parks. I fell in love with it last may  BUT, if it's only $200 more at AoA for a suite and you wouldn't need 2 rooms, that might be the better way to go...I guess it depends if you want to all stay together :grouphug:, if you'd prefer having the space to move out over 2 rooms. Happy planning popcorn::

SORRY!!! :rolleyes1 :headache:

Thanks! I have a number of those on my plan as well. I'm only going with the one sit down a day plan though. Looks like a great selection!

without reading thru 200 pages of replies (LOL), what does the forecast look like for Free Dining again in early November? We had it last year, and it was great--so we are looking to get that promotion again.

Well, there are 2 schools of thought:

1) They will repeat the same promo they have done for the last couple of years

2) There will be no promo since the new Fantasyland will be open during that quarter and in turn, enough people will attend without discounts

On an unrelated note, I need HOURS. Not being able to plan is driving me batty!

I finally got around to crunching our numbers last night. The pin I'm booked under right now is saving us $220 off rack rate at POFQ. I went through and guessed where and what we might want to eat - as this is a grown up birthday trip, more expensive than usual. Calculated free dining would save us about $554, so definitely fingers crossed for that to come out!

Just sitting here thinking about something......How many of us will be meeting back up for a November 2013 trip planning thread? I know, I have lost my marbles.

And while I have your attention.....Can ya'll please explain what the check in procedure is like at the POFQ. Each step you take from the moment you drive up to the resort thru walking into your room. Thank you! :goodvibes

Unfortunately, this will be our last trip for the next couple of years as we arrange to buy the house we are currently renting, so this is a last hurrah of sorts, unless we hit the lotto or something, LOL

As for check in for POFQ, when we went in 2009, we took the bus from the airport, and as it was still early, we dropped our carry-ons off at the luggage storage area, walked into the lobby, and went through the Internet Check-In line. Being Dec 26th, there was one person in front of us, finishing up, and it went fairly quick. Our turn went fairly quick, as they went over our dining reservations, gave us the KTTK, our $1000 giftcard (for $700 promo), went over things we might be interested in, and then took my cell number since our room was not ready, so they could text us with the room number when done.

They gave us everything, we took the keys and the giftcard, put the rest in my briefcase with the luggage area, and went to Epcot for the day (got there around noon). Got a text about 2 PM that our room was ready and when we got back, all our luggage was in the room

My little guy starts school Sept. 2013 so I don't know if I would take him out for a few days for Disney so soon . . . . but I might! :rotfl::lmao:

I have never stayed at POFQ but I can tell you about POR. We took the bus from the airport, they dropped us off at the main door and got our carryons. There was a greater that gave us mardi gras beads. THen we went to the online check in and were there about 5 min then walked to our room. Our luggage was there by the time we returned about 10pm (we arrived at 5pm)

UM 2013 already!!!! :cloud9: :lmao: :lmao: I am not sure yet. I was thinging about Disneyland OR WDW. Now off to do :laundy: befre DH gets mad at all my :surfweb: and couponing! :lmao:

A home purchase always trumps a trip to anywhere. :goodvibes That is awesome for ya'll.:banana::banana:

Thank you for the check in info. We are thinking about switching resorts. And I do have to say that the WL has spoiled us. We drive up and hand our keys to the valet and that is it. That is why I want to know what check in is like.

I know for us, taking them out of school during the early years wasn't a problem. But once they hit those upper grades that changed. :snooty:

I'm sure that check in is the same at both resorts. :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear that you are still couponing. I have a stack that I have to get into my binder today.

I hope you all find a happiness today. :goodvibes
