At our school, there are 3 boys that play football AND march in the half-time shows! They just march in their football uniforms and get no halftime break. Talk about commitment! (not my kids) My boys were in jazz band and all that. DS20 lived for it. DS16 this year decided not to do jazz. (and I didn't let on that it BROKE my heart!) He was never as into band as older DS and I think the band directors hold that against him a bit. He said he'll still do concert and marching band because he likes them, but nothing else. He's been an officer for 2 years now, but doesn't want to next year. Peyton just had her very first band concert tonight. It was honestly the best 6th grade concert I've ever heard (sometimes they can make your ears bleed!!)

She's been waiting her "whole life" to be in band, so she was soooo excited. Yeah, not good to be a kid forced to be in band. That's not good for anyone. (I was big into band, too, so I'm thrilled my kids are into it, too.)
YUCK to your cold and snow. I couldn't believe the snow in Albequerque (I have NO ideas how to spell that!

) I totally agree with you though, preferring it to hot/humid weather. You can always put on more clothes, but you can only take so much off without being embarrassed or disgusting someone!

And then, you're STILL hot.....

Aww, I'm sorry about your great aunt. She'll be in a better place, but it's so hard to lose loved ones. I hope she rebounds or passes peacefully.
Hope you all have a great night! I'll be falling asleep to heavy rain on the roof. I love that! (esp. since there's no thunder and lightning!)
