Got my National Emeral Isle rental down another $14 very early Sunday morning. I'm now at $305.57 for Nov 14-23. Hoping to add a $25 or $35 off coupon. But haven't found one that goes through Nov yet.
Alamo is still out of sight. More than double that amount for a midsize. Even the compact is more expensive.

Thanks but I'm not a Costco member and it says you have to present your Costco card. From looking at prices for a week out it seems like they are much cheaper when you wait till the last minute, I'm hoping I can slash something off my Dollar $233 booking

I do have a costco membership but have never been asked by any car rental company but I guess it could happen. I do see $160 inc taxes for a compact with Advantage.

EDIT: Just checked Dollar 10/31-11/10 -my original rate is $195. The rate today is $324! Must depend on the dates.

I have a question. Prices right now for my time frame are ridiculours (Nov1-10). Last year I had a full size at $135 and change this year ouch! Not sure if we are going to rent the whole time or not. But I do notice that if I pick up a car a the Dolphin it is a little cheaper than at the airport. So for anyone who has used Alamo to pick up a car at the Dolphin, do they have a standard isle and a full size isle? I know at the airport there is no standard isle. If you book standard you pick from the full size so was just wondering if that is the same at Dolphin? TIA

As for Dolphin, not sure what aisle they have there. I would assume the space might be smaller and have a smaller selection than the airport. But I could be wrong. Hopefully someone else can help? Maybe ask in the main transportation board?

I think things will start to come down in a couple weeks---we always vacation at this time, and I usually start seeing those good deals around early October. Called Hertz again yesterday, without any discounts they quoted me $700 for two weeks. Just crazy!

My dates are 11/8-11/13; I was able to get Advantage for $96 total. They are at $175 now (ridiculous). I'm looking daily; will be sure to post something for you if I see it!

Keep checking for that city special from Dollar - it will just pop up when you don't put in any codes. I believe it appears before the midsize car. The rates have been climbing high so far, but one day last week I did see it drop for my dates to $224. Hope it comes back down again for you!

I rented from Dolphin several years ago. I don't remember if there is a standard vehicle and full size vehicle at that location, but you do not go out to an 'aisle' and pick your own car like you do at the airport. Unless things have changed, you check in at an inside desk off the lobby. You then go outside to the front porte-cochere and they bring it to you - much like a valet service. You might be able to ask what they have available in the class of vehicle you are renting, but it's not near as much fun as it is at the airport.

We are the ones who booked 11/1-11/12 for $220.00. We checked every day and changed our reservation 3 more times and ended up at $170.00 for a standard size. As of 2 days ago we noticed that the quote for same car and timeframe is now $530.00.

The point is you never know when they will move so keep checking.
