November 2-9, 2013 7-Night Caribbean Cruise Disney Wonder

November will be my first cruise.I am so excited!!!!!:cool1: I want it to be as 'Disney' as possible. But I have no kids. Are adults allowed to do any of the kid stuff? and is there enough for the adults to do that is Disney related? I heard abt the pirate party and have my outfit almost ready. Also, has anybody heard of Disneybounding? I am planning my outfits accordingly.... Planning some excursions, but not sure which would be best. Wont get back down here for a while. We are driving to Galveston... Fla is too far a drive, coming from Tucson Thanks for being here and for your valuable input. GO DISNEY!!!!:cheer2:(Oh and where do I find the Disney icons?)

Glad to have you aboard! There are a few couples traveling without kids, myself and DH included. This is only my second cruise so I can't answer all of your questions but I will do my darnedest to try! There are Sooo many activities going on on board for children and adults alike that you will feel like you are in Neverland :) Every morning you will get a "navigator" under your door that will tell you the full days schedule hour by hour! Make sure you pack a watch because there are no clocks in "Neverland" (on board) and you want to make sure to make it to the events. Also, you can get a cheaper rate if you book for parking online with the port of Galveston. We drive in also.

You an see the Jamaica excursions on the Disney website now. Yeah

And it looks like my group is getting bigger. Adding a 4th cabin for my brother 49 and his girlfriend.

Yeah!

Hi All, this is my DW and my first cruise and we are really excited. We got a GTY 7A room and hoping for a little Pixie Dust. The wait is killing me, I really need a vaction now, lol.

We are traveling without the kids on this cruise. it will be our 3rd cruise. We've cruised on the Dream, the Magic, and now going for the Wonder. We live about an hour and a half away from Galveston, so we are driving. The last time we went out of Galveston we parked at the Lighthouse Parking. It is $55 to park for the cruise. Plus every parking spot is covered, for the same price. Yes, adults can do the kids activities. We started looking at excursions. I think if we do Jamaica, that we will probably stay with Disney. The bobsled one looks cool! Otherwise in Grand Cayman, we will probably go off on our own and book an excursion that way. I feel that it is safer there and probably Cozumel to go off on our own instead of booking thru Disney (and cheaper).

We love Pirate night! A few years ago I made all of our family members pirate costumes! I think I might want to change mine up this year though (for pictures purposes!).

We decided to upgrade to a GTY 7A also! I am so hoping we get upgraded, but will be totally happy just having a veranda this time. It will be our first cruise to have a veranda, on the last cruise we went with one of the hidden port hole rooms, which worked out nice.

Oh I am estatic to have a verandah too, and the prices were awesome!!! I'll be happy with the Navigators Verandah, if I dont get an upgrade, just to be able to step outside from the room is a plus. Won't complain if I get an upgrade though, lol. More than anything though, I just want to know what room I'm in :)

Is everyone still getting the feeling that this cruise is not selling well. Which I love if it is true. Less people means better rooms, chances for upgrades and more chances to enjoy everything on the boat!

Between the early November date and being out ofGalveston (which isn't selling well overall) I think we are going to have that just right cruise.

Yeah

We are also GTY 7A. I was going to book a 5A but the 7A rate was awesome. I hope the cruise isn't full, too!

Probably not the most scientific way, I went on orbitz and counted the rooms that were available for choosing (every catagory but 7A and 11C). There were about 101 rooms available, last time I counted. Now seeing as this is my first cruise, I don't know if that is normal or not.

Hi everyone! We just booked this date and are so excited. It'll be my husband and I and our 3 1/2yr daughter. Since this is my first cruise and we'll be traveling with a toddler I'm a little nervous. My husband's only other cruise was a drunken party cruise for graduation 10 years ago so this will be a very different trip:laughing: We're currently in a 11C GTY room. Since we're complete newbies I've been scourging this board for info and have found some great tips. Have to say this is probably going to be the longest three months ever!

Welcome to the group! The first time we cruised Disney, my DS was 3 1/2 and we loved the cruise! It is completely different atmosphere than say a carnival cruise line where everyone is drunk 24/7. It is very family oriented and on both of our Disney cruises all the kids were well behaved and having a great time. I will say that when my DS was 3 1/2 years old we had a really hard time getting him to stay in the kids clubs. Even though he had 5 other cousins/siblings with him in there. My niece who was 3, also didn't want to stay in the kids clubs. The older kids did fine though. So we didn't get a lot of "adult" time like we were hoping for. But it was still fun.

I also have the feeling that this cruise is not selling well. I "accidentally" joined the Nov 9th facebook & meet up group on DIS boards, and they have a lot more people on them. I haven't checked out the occupancy website yet, but I can't remember if 100 or so vacant rooms is "normal" or not. I know when we went on our Jan 2013 cruise, it wasn't selling well and they thru in a "kids sale free" at the last minute (about 3 or 4 months out) to fill up the cruise. That was great for us!:yay:

Our daughter is pretty independent so I'm hoping she'll at least give the clubs a try but hey if she doesn't want to stay I'm totally ok with that too. Sometimes I think I'm the one with the separation anxiety. I'm kind of hoping this cruise doesn't sell too well, that way maybe it wont be too crowded our first time. Really going to have a hard time waiting for November.
