We had the APL rotation last Turkey Day and really enjoyed being in Lumieres for Thanksgiving!!

We are still keeping our fingers crossed--our bosses think they will be able to let us know one way or the other in February. Since Chuck and I both have birthdays in Feb--we will hope for positive news as our birthday presents!!

Keeping our fingers crossed for you, Chuck and Lisa!

Lampy, is your lake stocked with bass? I used to tournament fish til I got too busy. There is nothing like seeing bass explode on a topwater!
I am meeting some buddies at Lake Fork in March for our annual bass fishing/beer drinking/poker playing weekend.

I won't watch the DCL show on Travel Channel this year, I will watch my home movies that I filmed. Mostly at the sail away and Pirate parties.

So, the band reunion will be at Lampys? I thought you guys were looking at Vegas? I was trying to get you booked in the lip synch contest at the Las Vegas Blue Moon Resort!

Willie

Looks like I'd better get a few more day beds.......Ya Willie, kids catch 11-13 inch large mouths off our pier. They caught a 32 inch Tiger muskie the summer before last. On the 10 horse lake (named Big Bass) the are 4-5 poundres caught regularly. There is a big Walley taunting me off our pier

Thanks for the SNOW!! :umbrella: But so far all it's been doing is raining on and off. It has been very warm here so far. Today the temps ranged from 42 - 38. Not cold enough to snow.

Maybe tonight, Only time will tell.

Just snagged our airfare through Delta!!!

Heading through Atlanta this time. NO MORE O'HARE EVER AGAIN.

Wow I just checked out Delta rates, and I will wait for Southwest to open up :flower: Southwest has much lower rates for us. Continental is showing 560 pp for those dates. I DON'T THINK SO

Hey don't yall hog all the snow--send some down here :Pinkbounc We loved it when yall shared for Christmas eve!

Hey thanks for the snow, Doogie!! Actually, I love it! It is so peaceful and beautiful when it first comes down. Now in a day or two - yecch.

Where are you flying from Doogie? Midway? I checked Delta's fares and wonder if they might go down still -- seem kind of high yet or are they good for that time of year (holiday, etc.)?

I need lots of advice on the air thing!

Thanks -
Kris

I agree, WE'll wait for Southwest to open up also here on Long Island. Just to compare, and since we're going down two days earlier maybe we'll be lucky.

We ended up using Delta though for our Spring break wdw trip. Southwest was way to expensive and the available flight times were not to my liking.

We still ended up paying $230 RT from Long Island to Orlando.

Kennyk :wave2:

Zeke11,

We're out of Des Moines. I didn't get a great rate, but it's still about $100 cheaper than what I could find last week. Considering it's Thanksgiving and we needed specific flight times I wasn't going to mess around too much. We paid $220pp which is a decent rate to MCO anytime. I think I booked last year around March and our times were very limited and fares were higher. We went through OHare (delays and cancellations), which I didn't like at all. We got to our hotel room at 3am in Orlando.

All,

We ended up with 14" of snow. The kids have had an extended winter break, no school Monday (ice), Partial day Tues and today, and No school yesterday. I hear it's coming "Y'alls" way (man I love that word Willie!).

Teresa, When are you guys flying down? We are watching airfares and We usually fly Continental, but it is still up there! If you find a decent price somewhere, let me know. We can usually fly nonstop for about $300 PP. Last year we flew out of Beaumont for just under $400 PP. But we had delays with the hop to Beaumont, so we will come over to Houston this time. It is really convienient to fly out of Beaumont, no parking fees, small airport, etc. But the delays this past time were a real pain.
We are looking at leaving Houston Friday afternoon sometime(3-4PM) and Flying home the 26th early afternoon.

Willie
P.S. Kelli just looked at Delta, with 2 hour layover in Atlanta for $303 PP. But we are waiting for the nonstops to come down.

Hi Doug -

That is a good rate -- I checked Delta out of both O'Hare & Midway and didn't find anything comparable. I hope I'll be able to get at least a halfway decent fare. I would hate to have to drive down (eeeekkk!).

We ended up with about 9 inches of snow. But school is open today, thankfully.

ttyl,
Kris

Willie we live about 15 minutes from Hobby, so I always tend to try to fly out of there. Southwest has a lot of flights out of there so we have more of a choice of times.

Is everyone coming in the day before? I finally got a good rate at the Radisson by the port, (senior rate) for that night, but even with that we are considering flying in early Saturday morning. (My nightmare--shades of Momsgoofy--bunnies, she got delayed a whole bunch of times, and did not make it to the ship until about 430, but she had booked airfare through Disney so they were going to hold the ship for her--as it was, we did not leave until about 530, because they were holding the ship for about 20 other people)

Hey girls, lets try to be the go-gos vs the ron bon jovi group--whaddya say? :flower: Wow 80's night is going to ROCK :cool1:

EEEEKKK!!!! Kris, Delta is NO deal out of midway or Indy. The cheapest I found was 342.00 round trip. I usually pay around 189.00 per thru ATA.

We are staying at WDW the night before....as usual. By the time you pay for non DCL transportation and a hotel it is almost the same $$ as staying at MCOs hotel. But IMHO, DCL is more convenient. DDs like to rexal for a day before hopping on the ship. The Beach Club was nice for a day......nice pool and beach and yes, the ESPN zone for some eats and sports and yes, miller lites. We usually fly out at 7:10am and are at the hotel by noon. We've done, Carribean beach, Swan, Dolphin, Poert Orleans Riverside, and Beach Club. Believe it or not I like CB the best.....but too late departure time......silver has WAY too much time ahead of me to get those shrimp!!! I think we are going to try the polynesian or Wilderness lodge.....if we do Wilderness we will do "the hooptie doo review" again. Maybe I can get on stage there to start the vacation out right!!!

Lampy, I was brought onstage once at the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. I was Davey Crocketts Angel. I had angel wings and a tu-tu. Don't even try to visualize that. :earseek: Luckily, that was THE ONLY place we did not bring the video camera to. I love the BBQ ribs and fried chicken there, and the bottomless pictcher of Miller Lite!

Willie

Hey Willie, we were there 2 years ago before our Eastern sailing on the week after Thanksgiving. The couple that came with us that year were on their "belated honeymoon". He is a big guy and we sat up front and he had to wear the "tutu" also..........It was hularious!!!!! We DO have pics.....

Teresa,

You are correct in that snafu with our flight! :earseek: We said we'd never fly in the same day again for a cruise! Just remember we opted to fly out of a closer Disney port airport but one that was smaller (Evansville, IN) and that was our mistake! Had we gone with St. Louis, MO or Nashville, TN...both about the same distance for us...we'd have been fine if the same problem happened as when I called Disney ground and talked to Michelle...ya'll know...Lampskies uh-huh...girlfriend...God love that woman! :cheer2: I know why Ron gets great service if he's working with her!....anyway, if we'd been at a bigger airport then we'd have easily been switched to an alternate airline since they have more flights. As my wise old momma used to say...hindsight is 20/20!

Now for that Go-Go's thing... :rockband: Willie, I trust if it happens you WILL have your camera and let me see those photos!!!

Laura ºoº
...BTW...those fruffy drinks do work at home...had the bartender at the Eagles, where Eric's band played New Year's Eve, whip up one of those Pilgram's Punch and one of the Pirate's Punch... :drinking1 ...ended up having several and renamed it as to not get in trouble with the head mouse....Pirate Pucker. :tilt:

Yikes, Laura!

I was looking at some early morning Saturday flights out of O'Hare in order to not have to pull the kids out of school on Friday, since they will already be pulled out on MOnday & Tuesday -- but I think that might be a bad idea? The flight would be a 7:30 am flight and arrives in Orlando at about 11.

What do you think?

Kris

Kris,

I know a lot of folks do it, but I wouldn't risk flying same day. The boat doesn't wait very long. It only takes delays at one hub to throw all the others off.

This year we were delayed by fog, had flights cancelled and were rebooked on flights that would have had us missing the boat. We ended up getting things worked out but it was a very frustrating experience knowing we had to be at Port by 5. My comment to the CR person at OHare was, "just get me near Florida tonight." (Friday).

Kris, ATAs specials are thru June right now. Which puts OUR special aorund April for ATA. That's when I usually book.
Momsgoofy......Don't forget to write a "thank you" letter to DCL thanking everyone for what they did for you. When you send it and mention names it DOES get back. A "thank you" goes a long way with DCL.....TRUST ME!!!
