Hi All...

I'm not a DVCer but who knows what may come! never been on a cruise and never been to disney.... boo hiss i know..

everyone's wedding pictures are lovely! I still have not posted pics since i'm more troubled by the fact that i just can't copy and paste...

I did ask earlier about the green luggage tags and I realize that there was some confusion.. I know to wear my shirt to port... I just am not sure about the taggos... anyone else that is flying, when do you green tag? :confused3

also i saw EVERYTHING must be greentagged... is that really so... i certainly don't have enough tags for carryon and all ;) seriously...

I have not started packing but i'm quite sure... that the bags will outnumber the tags!

Question about the photo of last years group... was that everyone or did some get scared away and not show :earseek:

I'm thinking now of the earlier post that I should have broken this down into many miniposts!

Sherri :bounce: :Pinkbounc  :cool1:

SHERRI....YEP, everything MUST HAVE A TAG....EVEN CARRYONS......

Hey magnet and door sign makers-I have the design for the t shirts in a .jpg file. I'm posting it here, but if you want me to e-mail it to you, send me a pm with your e-mail, or you can e-mail me at the address on Ken's spread sheet and I will send it to you. Maybe you can just lift it from here:

This ought to be useful in making door signs and such. Julie-I tried to e-mail this to you tonight, but for some reason was not able to. I'll try again tomorrow.

Lampy- My exclusive contact the t-shirt artist designed that piece of art for us before Hurrican Wilma. The first batch of t-shirts were already printed and in the mail before we found out about our new port of call. The way I look at it, these shirts are now collectors items. Just like when the post office makes a mistake on a stamp. :confused3 I might sell mine on e-bay after the cruise. :rotfl2:

OH, I'm sad, but we probably won't do another Disney cruise. I love Disney, but the kids are growing out of it and would probably be just as happy with a RCL or Carnival cruise for a lot less $$$$. I know, it stinks to have to say that.

Kris

Kris, I thought the same thing after our 03 Eastern....and deffinately after our "cancelled 02 Eastern" fiasco....so I booked Beaches in Ocho rios for last Thanksgiving and DDs were REALLY upset we weren't going sailing...so I asked about another ship and they said "no way". I think they think the Magic is THEIR ship! And believe me we are NOT "mickey mouse" people.....just that the service is sooooooooooo good......and the company? :rotfl2:

The 2004 Group Pic was about half of the DIS group. I think we took that on Thursday night. It was the night you were late to the meet, Ron.

Good Morning all!
It's a beautiful summer day here north of Atlanta!!! :sunny: Yes, we'll be breaking record highs for Nov. again today. Very wierd! Hard to pack up the kids shorts while they're still trying to wear them!!!

Get this...DH called DCL yesterday to get a measurement of how thick our suitcases could be and still slide under the bed. Reasonable enough... Well, this chick on the phone says "We don't allow suitcases under the bed unless they're the soft-sided duffles! You're only allowed 2...we've relaxed our dress-code so you don't need to bring much anyway! We don't even really have a formal night anymore...just casual. You don't need hard-sided luggage. It'll just have to be in your way if you do. It won't go under the bed!"

EXCUUUUUUSSSSSEEEE MEEEEE???!!! :earseek: Last time I checked WE were the ones paying here. Like Willie said ~
"I'm paying for that space, and by God, I'm gonna use it!" Exactly how are they planning on stopping us???!!!

Does anybody know how tall suitcases can be to still fit under the beds??? Cause we never got an answer from Ms. Sunshine!!!

Laurie

Doesn't matter how tall....the large one DO fit underneath....the bed frames are actually portable PVC type of material....can fit 4 large underneath by lifting the mattress....

No DVC points for me, I was told if we just "sailed" it wasn't worth it. And seeing how my "girlfriend" usually takes care of me at WDW...that's better than points :cool1:

Oh ya, married.....16 years Oct. 14th as my father-in-law said "if you would have shot her rather than marry her you'd be out by now!" :rotfl2:

Laurie,
kelli brought a huge suitcase last year, at least 9" thick. We put other suitcases inside it and lifted the bed, and it went right under.

Willie

O.K., just remembered a story about lifting up the mattresses.....the reason you DO put suitcases under it the first day.....CHECK UNDERNEATH FOR THINGS LEFT BY PREVIOUS SAILORS!!!!!!

On our 03 sailing I think it was monday night. We went with another couple and the guy and I went to watch the end of Monday night football at Diversions.....well we ended up on beat street and who knows when I stumbled back to the room.....do you know how long and narrow those halls are at 3 a.m.? Well anyways yes, I made it, so I wake up the next morning and feel around for my glasses.....can't find them.....so I start feeling around under the bed and low and behold I feel something so I pull it out.....yep, a bra!!!! And it definatly wouldn't fit Kim!!!!!! :rotfl2: Should have seen the look on my face!!!!! :rotfl2:

Allright guys...I've got to get something done here....my last Wednesday off before vacation....actually my last day off other than Sunday before "miller time"....oh ya...have to go to Willie and my second favorite place in the world....Home depot! Salt for the softner, light balbs, salt for the sidewalk YUK! Snow in the forcast!!! Time to pack that cooler....."It's 5 O'clock somewhere"

Willie, I'm going to wear that CD you gave me out this week!!!

Lampy- come clean- your know good and well that that was your own bra! You are not fooling any of us.

Lampskies-The home depot being the second favorite place in the world to you and Willie must be a man thing as DH loves going there and Lowe's :confused3

Andrew-I tried to pm,and your pm came back.Your mailbox is full! :badpc:

I thought I read (and we ended up doing it on our first cruise) to stick the life vests under the bed to make more room in the closet. We also stuck whatever else fit under there. Lampys bra??? :rotfl2:

OK-Since it looks like Lampy is abandoning us to waste his time going to Home Depot, I have to post a little story about our Banana Boat ride last year on Castaway Cay. Then I had better take some time to do some work, too.

OK, so we are on the 4 night Wonder last year. We got on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, and got off on Thanksgiving morning. We hit Castaway Cay on Tuesday that week. The '04 Thanksgiving Magic gang would have been there on Sunday and Friday. There were some Christmas decorations up on the island when we were there, but it looks like more went up later in the week.

We did not plan to go on the Banana Boats, so had no reservations. Just walked over there and asked if we could get on one. They were more than happy to accommodate us. I don't think these people are Disney employees. The lady I spoke to said that they lived on another island near there, and traveled over each morning for work. I don't get the impression that these folks are real sticklers about safety issues.

There apparently is some type of spiel that riders are supposed to listen to, but since we walked up, and they had some openings on the next banana, we go with no instructions. They pulled us behind a small boat with an outboard motor. They take us out around the Wonder and then open it up. The guy tries to do some turns, and off we fly. He comes back to get us, and everybody climbs on. Off we go again, and soon we are all flying off again. I think we were supposed to lean in or lean out, but no one told us. Anyway, we are having fun. So we are all floating in the water waiting for the boat to pull around to get us, and his engine stalls. He tries and tries, but the thing will not go. We are all floating in open water, and the tow boat is drifting away from us. We all do have life jackets The DD's imaginations start to wander-are there any sharks around here?, etc.

We wait for a long time, and finally one of the members of the boat group comes by with a jet ski. We get hitched up, and get towed back to the beach with a jet ski. Here is out photo coming back:

BB2.jpg

Now, the kids say it was one of the highlights of the cruise. At the time, they were a little stressed.

We will be doing this again on one of our stops at CC this year. Why don't we try to get a banana for the whole group?
