November 12, 2011 - Magical Double Dip!

My boss is currently on the Mediterranean cruise and a couple from my church have booked the Eastern the week before we are going. Not fair that they are all going before us!

We did book our air last week to get there....still waiting on prices to come back though as they were more expensive. Maybe we will get stuck there and not be able to come back :confused3

Hmmmmmm excursions are still up in the air for us.... I am very wishy washy with all the ports.... Trying to decide .....but my head feels like it is full of fluff like Pooh:rolleyes1!!!! That is what work has done to me this past month!!!!!

Welllllllll I do know what your oldest child will be doing in Cozumel!!!:thumbsup2 He's gonna be hanging out with the world's coolest Aunt & Uncle EVER!!!:cool2: Oh and btw him and I have also discussed some adventures in Grand Cayman....:rolleyes1

Are we gonna picka date to close the list for FE? on our last cruise they closed the list 75 days prior, so people could get a count of how many rooms people etc.......im gonna try and get the the current list printed this week, and split up between who is and isnt on fe, (instead of one long list) just easier for me..... then i can count kids adults etc....l also do we know if there are any food allergies in our FE..... just dont want to get someone sick...
I am booking my stingray city this week!!! I can't wait we dont go thru DCL, due to our daughter is only 2 and DCL wont take her on theirs, we took her last year and she loved it!!!
hope all is well w/ every one!!!!

PIF! Ready to book my things NOW. no impatience here.

Found a great new outfit for the cruise in a thrift store while we were in Indiana last week - can't beat 5 bucks for a pair of pants with flamingos and a matching top. If I only wear them once, I still won't feel bad about donating them.

I'm trying to pursuade my families that they would like to do fe. One familyare first time cruisers from Mexico and I think the kids would get a big kick out of it.

Happy Day, all!

Hey Everyone,

It's been a while since I've been on glad to see the thread is getting a lot of action. I booked our airfare when Southwest had their 40, 80, 120 fares!! Too bad it ended on the 13th of November, but at least we got the $80 rate going down!! And you can't beat bags fly free!!!

I booked Nachi Cocum for Cozumel!! I noticed that a PP had mentioned booking sting ray city for their 2 year old...can you kindly tell me what company you are using?? I would like to get that booked as well!! (I have a 2.5 year old who i think will just love that!!)

We are on the fish extender list and it will be our first time doing it!! Do we bring gifts for just 1 night or all 7 nights?? I'm hoping it's just 1 night as that would be a lot of stuff to bring on board!! Please let me know.

Also I read you are having a meet and greet. I was wondering if anyone was going to bring their kids to this as I have a 4.5 and 2.5 year old. I would love for my 4 year old to make some new friends so she is not so intimated by being in the oceaner club alone and maybe sees a famililar face when she goes!!

I'm getting very excited!!!

I highly recommend Captain Marvin's for Stingray City. We have used them twice before. Great excursion, good price. Just a short walk from dock.

75 days out to close the FE sounds good to me:thumbsup2 This is my first time organizing this so I apologize if I haven't been getting all the info we need:goodvibes But I am open to all help that is volunteered to get our FE in the proper sailing form so no one ends up confused :cool1::thumbsup2

I'm not sure about food allergies, if anyone has any please let me know and I will make note of it on our cruiser/FE list.:thumbsup2

Yay for the great price on SW!!!! I think that for the FE's you only bring gifts for one night, unless you would like to bring more, but I think most people do it only on one evening.:goodvibes And as for bringing your kids to the meet & greet.....ABSOLUTELY!!!!! I got a bunch of lei's to give out to adults AND the kiddos!! That way the kids get to meet others that they probably will hang out with during the cruise:grouphug: It's alot of fun for us grownups and the younger ones too;) So yes please everyone DO BRING THE KIDDOS!!!!!:cool1::thumbsup2:cool1: I can't wait for this cruise, it's going to be so much fun!!!!:yay:

Wellllll thoughts of a rum cake factory tour were discussed at length but I have yet to be able to find any really good info on that, I 'm gonna keep looking though:thumbsup2 Only other thing was a bit of wandering on the island making sure to take him through the little rum cake place right there at the port so he could sample some of those delicious cakes:goodvibes You know Layne is my only real foodie buddy and I intend to spend as much time with him as I possibly can!! We have also had a conversation about our secret date at our secret place everyday onboard so that we can have Grandma's cheeseburger in paradise together:cloud9: I can't wait!!!

I think we will just try to find a nice beach and relax there for a few hours. We've done Stingray City a few times and rented jetskis also.

Can anyone recommend a nice place? looking at going to Seven Mile beach or is there a place like Nachi Cocum on GC?

Native Way is good for StingRay city too.

Everybody comes to the meet & greet - it's a free for all!

Usually FE's are 1 time around.

We have a 5 & 2 6's in our party and they're old hands at the club. She'll be fine.

Captain Marvin's and Native Way both get good reviews, but I don't know if they both take' littles'.

7 mile beach is beautiful and an easy taxi ride away from the pier - no worries about not being understood - they all speak English with a lovely island accent. The drivers will know where to take you - some of the hotels let you use their beach for free, if you buy food and beverages there.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend!!:goodvibes Happy 4th!!! Only 128 days til we leave yay!!!!!:yay::woohoo::dance3::banana::cool1: :cheer2:

My extended family is not on the dis, but among them, there are 3 little girls 4.5, 5 & 5, and a little boy 7. They all speak English, Spanish & two also sign. Would the family that wanted to have their kids meet kids, please pm me! I'll arrange a meet & greet.

Even though they aren't members of the DIS you should still bring them to our meet & greet!!:thumbsup2

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry I've been away for a LONG while. We've had a series of personal issues that have come up over the past 2 months that have kept me away from just about everything ... which also brings me to a sad announcement - we will not be able to sail with all of you wonderful folks this year. :( I don't want to go into the gritty details, but just want to wish you all well and a wonderful, happy sailing. Perhaps we can catch you the next time around.

Take good care,
Annabel

Gift Exchange Info

Meet & Greet in the Promenade Lounge Deck 3 at 3:00pm on Embarkation Day!!!!
We will meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00pm before the muster drill and sail-away to get to know one another briefly, put names to faces, and for those of you who would like to participate, we will also have a gift exchange!

Here's how it works:
Each family will bring a small gift to represent the area they are from, aka their hometown/state For example you could bring something from a local store like maybe a trinket from an artist in your hometown or if you are into sports bring something to represent your favorite home team. Last cruise on DCL, the gift I received was from a very sweet lady from Texas, she brought some local spices & coffee, along with a little Texas BBQ cookbook. It was really cool! It's just a simple gift nothing extravagant, that is unless you wanna give me a free cruise

No seriously just something light and fun.

At the meet & greet, I will have name-tags to hand out where we will put our DIS name along with our real name, so that we can identify one another easily Then for each person or family who has brought a gift, when you come in find me, I will be handing out some lei's & up at the bar looking like I am in charge : Also I'll be wearing a name-tag At that point I'll write down your name & put it into a bowl/hat for the drawing part. I will also jot your name down on a list of who is actually participating in the exchange. That way everyone who brings a gift will receive one in return You hang onto your gift and have a seat, get to know some other people, have a drink, just relax

Around 3:30pm, which should give everyone enough time to mosey on down, we will begin the exchange I will call a name from the list and that person will come up pull a name from the drawing pool and exchange gifts with the person whose name they have drawn.

Very simple lots of fun and it ensures that each person who brings shall receive And no one is pressured into bringing something, it's completely up to each family, but please do come and hang out with us either way!!!

Can't wait! It's gonna be sooooo much fun!!
Only 125 days til we hit the road!!!:dance3::woohoo::yay:
