3300! This makes me Mr.3300. Hi all we are on our way to Wdw this weekend for 7 hot days in the sun. If we pool hop, what are some of the better pools to visit? :sunny:

Hey there! Long time no see! Have fun in the heat! We were at the Wilderness Lodge last August and Ben and Haley has a good time in the pool there. Haley went down the slide on Ben's lap and got in trouble even! Where are you staying?
Have lots of fun and eat ice cream - it will cool you off and keep your belly happy!

I would "pool hop" over to the Dolphin! YEs, the Yacht CLub right across the bridge is THE BEST pool and you would never have a chance getting into that one.....wristbands required and fenced in areas. But just across the bridge the Dolphin pool, beach area, and water slide were not only accessible IMHO but not very busy at all! And we were there the day before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving!.....try it! :goodvibes

my vote would be boardwalk. i like that there are lots of shaded areas that have a clear view of both the pool and the water slide. there's also the added advantage if you dont want food from the bar area of going to mickey's general store around the corner and grabbing some snacks. we worked it one day last time where we drove over and used our dvc card to do parking, hopped on the water ferry over to epcot tooled around for awhile and then came back to cool off with a swim. in fact the kids enjoyed it so much-our last day after check out we went for a few hours in the morning.

If you are DVC members you can "legally pool hop"......

My favourites, other than the Yacht club - see prior post.I did not know wrist bands were now required, are Animal Kingdom, Polynesia, and Corodado....

allearsnet.com has pool pictures, I think....Enhoy!!!!!

yup, and then you have to make sure it's not a "non pool hop" period of time (seems like they keep including more and more days as non hoppers).

p.s. pity me-it's supposed to get to 108 degrees this weekend, the kids will be screaming to swim, dh will be off scuba diving in monteray, and i....am on 2 antibiotics that have severe warnings to not go out in the sun for extended periods of time :scared1: oh well, the kids can swim at night and sleep all day :teeth:

we are dvc members so we will be hopping.

Have lots of fun for us.....Barley's right - if it is over the 4th of July weekend, I think that is a block out hopping period....still????

WOW!! You guys have been a chatty bunch!!! It's taken me two days to catch up on the posts!! I have to say it has brought true sunshine reading what everyone has been up to!

Hawaii!!! Allison and I were talking a few weeks ago about Hawaii and the fact they have few, if any, all-inclusive resorts. A cruise is by far the most economical way to not only see but experience the islands. We went on the ?????? line - sad I can't remember which one now - we caught the ship on the big island and spent a week cruising the islands. WE LOVED IT!! WE LOVED IT!!! WE LOVED IT!! We got to do alllll the tourist stuff: road to Hanna, viewing volcanic flow at night, walking on the volcanoes during the day, biking --- oh, what's that big biking trip everyone does????; deep sea fishing; buying real Kona coffee etc.... There is no way in haties someone would be able to do alllll of that in a week's time without going insane unless you're able to go back to the same room each night,,,, not pack and repack, rush to catch a flight to the next island,, security etc. The ship itself - dang it,,, which one did we sail,, It may have been NCL,,,but the ship was OK - nothing major,,,but you're not there for the ship - as you are with DCL or RCCL. And, with the cruise,,, we were able to check out all the islands then decide which one we would want to go back and actually spend time on - which by the way is Kauai!

Work wise, this is our busiest time of the year! If anyone wants to head this way for a vacation, we've got a spot for you - and since you know the owners of the company,, you may even be able to receive a discount :thumbsup2 Our site is: www.sunsetproperties.com

DH's father (91 yrs old) has been in the hospital for the last month. Things have been hard. We have said our "goodbyes" on a few different occasions, but then he rebounds. It has been an emotional rollercoaster. I told AWOLTODAY, our desire to live a long life has definitely been altered.

Between work consuming 12 hours a day then driving to Pensacola to sit with John's dad ---- wow!! Sooooo reading your repartee has been very enjoyable.
You guys are the best!!! Oh,, wait,,, according to Jessica you're all in my mind,,,, so you know what?? When I was younger I thought I had the coolist imaginary friends - now that I'm older I KNOW I DO!!! :woohoo:

Hi STB! I was wondering where you were. I absolutely understand, however, that you are dealing with MORE than life guarantees you! I am so sorry to hear about the ups and down you and DH have faced! I know my time is coming someday and I REALLY don't look forward to it!

I hope all works out the way it should and as smoothly as possible. :cloud9:

I knew you had an opionion, and better yet, REAL life experiences cruising Hawaii! I was waiting for you to chime in! :thumbsup2
I 100% agree with you that you could never fenagle the transport, food, packing, shleping, site seeing itinerary any better for the Hawiann Islands than a cruise.

Chances are you DID sail NCL.....which ship were you on? Maybe Spirit of Aloha since it is their older ship that does this itinerary.

Did you get to hike along the Na Pali coast line? :confused3

Did you spend bundles of $$$$$ doing shore excursions or did you venture out by yourselves? I realize this was prior to Sterling, so you were more "free". :goodvibes

I am seriously thinking about booking this cruise.....do you have an thoughts? Would you do it again? The Spirit of Hawaii looks awesome! Again, realizing you are NOT there for the ship or entertainment or food necessarily. It is Hawaii....and there is no other place like it! :cheer2:

Hawaii --- We love it...were last there in 2003....renewed our vows on the beach for 25th Anniversary in Lanai....hiked through the volcano on The Big Island...Tok an eco-tour up to Mauna Kea, camped on Kauai in Waimea canyon...found a great brewery (two actually on same island......).....and much more.

Had a fire every night but once I think on our 2003 trip....Prob.the only folk you know that pack long jons to go to Hawaii.

We also were there twice before....Once we took a three night hike down into the crater in Haleakela (bad with spellings)...Absolutely beautiful....there was no one - birdsong everywhere - starts spectacular.....breathtaking, almost alien landscapes...On that trip we also went to Molokai and Kauai for more hiking - this time the "swamp trail"....

First trip, the tourist trip - the 4 large island, Ohau, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island....Could talk about Hawaii all day.....I have good intentions of reviewing our albums and posting some pictures, when I can get a little more time.....I will not be joining the cruise as we are planning Alaska in 2007 with points, but I will be there in spirit..........

This was our first trip and we took 2 weeks to fly between islands and then fo to all the places......we were fine with the packing and unpacking but then we do not have kids.....but no way would we do that trip in one week......And most of the traditinal tourist stuff is what I recommend for the first trip, then you can go back for longer excursions on the individual islands....I love Kauai as well...Lanai may be our present favourite....it changes based on the trip.....

Cannot help with excursions because we had a car and went on our own.....

All right guys we are heading back home from wdw. Tonight we will stay in chattanooga and head back to the chicago area in the morning. It was a hot week and we was sweating just standing still. We all had fun and was glad when the kids did go to sleep, sometimes after we did. On july the 3rd, the magic kingdom will have after hours from 1am to 4 am for wdw guest. who wants to rid space mountain at 3am? The nurse would :rotfl2: !Baby girl refuse to go to sleep even at this hour. Right now she is bouncing up and down on my leg as I try to write this. HELP me to get her to go to sleep! :cloud9: SSR is a nice resort and we had a wonderful view of downtown Disney. It looks like we will be going to hilton head in 2006 or 07 so Hawaii is out for us.If I ever go back I would not eurn to the mainland so the wife says no. Take care all because it is now off to sleep. :moped:

i was on the community board and someone had posted it as the newest "happy birthday" on the bday/congrats board so it poped up as the newest post at the top of the page :teeth:

have a happy 39th-i've enjoyed celebrating my 39th for the past several years (dh would'nt let me continue with 29 once he caught up and passed me age wise :p ).

Jessica- definitely chewing on the Hawaii cruise idea but when I have final payment for DCL payment staring at me in the face and also I just splerged and prepaid in full for 4 of us Discovery Cove afterwards---- another $1,000 takes the back burner, ya know? I am sure you do. :goodvibes

What is the real advantage of booking so early, truly?
Don't we have LOTS of time, really? :confused3

It is my #1 choice for Nov 2007 at this point. :thumbsup2

Hi Folks - glad to see you are still considering Hawaii --- have not forgotten my promise to post pics from our trips to entice the decision.....but - am working on the album from the May Cruise for a "Remeber the Magic" party.....we are having next week - gulp!

Well isn't this the story of MY life????!!!! :dance3:
We just jumped on the free dining at Disney and are going (like only crazy people would) for a week at the end of August. We will melt into the pavement like we did last year, but at least the food is free right???? :rotfl2:

The prices will go up - will it be alot??? I have no clue. It is all based on availability - so as they sell the cabins, the prices will go up. Of course we could wait a few months and the prices not changed one bit (I doubt it).

So - the TRUTH - there is space - will the price remain unchanged? That is the question!
