I honestly hadn't thought about it...do they do something for celebrations? Thanks for your thoughts!

How cute was that? Barkely I miss you already!
How slow is this week going to go for me? With nothing to do but wait for Saturday!
Since the weather went from cold to now hot again, I had to unpack my summer clothes and wear them. So no packing till mid-week for me.

Ditto regarding Barkely...the poem was great! We're having the same situation with weather...it's gotten warm again and I can't keep my boys out of their shorts that I had ready to go! I predict at least one more load of laundry before we go!

DisNurse...there are also a few pages to fill in in the "Your Travel Booklet"...towards the back. One with your credit card info and one that all passengers have read the docs!

The countdown is on! JUST ONE MORE WEEK!!! 7 days and a few short hours! YIPPPEEEEEEE!

You're probably about to board a plane now,,,so I'm saying a prayer for your safe travel,,and for all of you other guys out there who will be leaving on a jet plane sooooon!!!

Dis_Nurse, I'm in 2648 with my sister in the connecting cabin,,,so I'm just a few feet down the hall from you on the opposite side of the ship. I'm excited about the new kids club on our floor. Surely, it will be sound proof for the most part

DisNurse- We will be in the 'bowels of the ship', too. #2130 is our cabin. Should be interesting living four in one room- one bathroom! Actually, I am just happy that we will be the cruise!

Angiebelle- I look forward to hearing you sing at karaoke.

I enjoy listening to others and finally after about two years of observing, I worked up enough courage (some was in a liquid form ) coupled with peer pressure from my sisters and friends, and I took the plunge. I have never had any voice training (which is probably plain to hear), but I found out that it was FUN! A non-judgmental, happy crowd helps, too!
So if you see a short, fat middle aged woman belting out "I Want You to Want Me", "White Rabbit", or maybe even "All Shook Up"- that would be me. My husband will be the hefty guy trying to fit under the table or pretending not to know me!
I think we have a lot of fun-loving cruisers on this thread, so I would like to encourage others to get up on stage and have some fun. Don't forget about the family talent show. It would be like having a built in fan club on the ship!
I promise that you will get applause!!

OK guys! Take it from me. Stop stressing about this vacation! I wasn't going to tell you all because I didn't wnat you to freak out on me. Apparently, I have been stressed out too much lately becuase I found out I have shingles...... I went to the doc yesterday and got an antibiotic. It is pretty painful, but I am so glad I went yesterday becuase it is much worse today. Normally, I would have left it until Monday (first saw the rash yesterday), but I was worried with the cruise comign up, so I went in & got the ball rolling. Guess I'll be takign it easy a bit for a few days, while these sores heal....

Ok, so where do we sleep tonight? I have the suitcases on our bed and now I can't SEE the bed! I've already BEEN to Wal-mart so many times this week, I'm afraid to go again! Only thing left is the pair of shoes I ordered to arrive last minute!

Choc-mag-I feel so bad for you. I have never had them but I have heard that they are really painful. Take it easy and have your hubby wait on you. Perhaps you could get a bell and ring it whenever you need him to serve you. Take care of yourself

Everyone take a deep breath and relax. It is only vacation and you will be meeting folks that you only have talked to on line for the past year.Just think about the fun we will have watching the nurse get up at 4 am to work out and she may even lose weight on the trip, while we will only be able to fit our sweat pants for formal night. Don't worry about packing, just match up the tags on the garanimals and keep on going. Now don't forget to relax, this time next week we will be on the big mickey boat.

Hello all!
Pretty fun day so far......although not too much accomplished. IT IS REALLY SNOWING OUTSIDE TODAY! The driveway is covered and I can hardly see across the street it is coming down so hard!
DH is up skiing in the mountains with his friend! They went back country skiing and have skied into a lake named Todd Lake (beautiful!) I just called him on the cell phone to make sure he was safe. On the way out the door, I told him, "please don't do anything stupid like get in a car accident or loose your driver's license!"

As I was out the door to the gym this AM the kids had put in the Disney Cruise DVD (free planning guide) and were watching it intently! I purposely didn't make a big deal about it. DH walked through the family room and said, "wow! What are you guys watching? That looks really fun!" They both went on and on about Castaway Cay and DD made me sit down and see that part twice. She made me take the "test" at the end (for those of you who own it, you know what I am talking about) and then asked, "Mommy, do you think we could ever save enough money to do that someday? If you told me we were going on it in a week or something I would run around the house naked screaming!" That is the word for word rendition, I kid you not!
I almost couldn't handle it! I had to do everything I could to not crack a smile or hesitate at all in my reply. She absolutely has NO CLUE! .....then she went on to say that she was envious of her friend, Annie, who "gets to go to the Nick Hotel"......again, I about lost it!
It almost made me nauseated with the surge of emotions!
It may sound to you guys as if she was testing me, but believe me, I would know......she's my DD.
I am almost afraid she and DS are going to have coronary arterial spasms when they find out all this crazy stuff I have hid from them for so long! Good thing they dont have atherosclerosis yet...otherwise I would make sure there was a defibulator around when these secrets are unveiled!
Wait until DD sees her BEST FRIEND (just by chance ) at the Beach Club the week of Thanksgiving! We are totally spoiling our kids!
All of us and all of our kids are so lucky to be going on this cruise, don't ya' think? I feel very fortunate.

DD was invited to spend the night at her friend's tonight.....Yeah! Can gets lots done then.....I forbid the mom to take them out to see Chicken Little, and she understood.


So sorry about your shingles, Choc Marg! Hope you are on the mend soon! Antibiotics, though? Shingles are viral based. Oh, well......what do I know? I am a baby nurse.

Oh.....something else my DD asked me while watching "the making of the Magic" where they showed soddering the two pieces together when they made that AWESOME BEAUTY OF A SHIP!.....she asked if there is anywhere on the ship (in the middle, of course) where you can see where the two pieces went together? Now I am curious too.

hey guys its been a while but i am just checking in on everything i was wondering if we were still planning at the buena vista theater? i dont no also i am looking everywhere for what movies will be playing on the cruise ive tried search engines and everything i realize chicken little will be polaying but anything eles that u guys no of?

Hi! I think we need to clarify once again which theater we are meeting at. I am confused. There are two theaters on two different decks, right? Forgive me, as I have obviously never been there.

One plays movies....Which one is that? Deck # ?
One has live theater shows...which one is that? Deck # ?

I could get off my lazy rear and look it up in my Passporter.....but that up three flights of stairs and packed in a suitcase! WAY too much effort!

She has a house that is at least 3 levels,Wow. Big money, they may have a RR parked outside with a car for everyday of the week. She may be in a cat 1 room and not really telling us. They said the walt disney theater for the meet.. For space it will be tight because we will have to be outside.

OK. So I went to look up some stuff about this little mess I have. Honestly, I have been going through the motions here and didn't really know what I was doing. You are right DISNURSE, shingles is viral and although I thought I had heard antibiotic, that is actually only given if the blisters become infected. I am taking Valtrex. I knew I had heard the name before, but only moments ago did I learn that it is a drug for Herpes!!! YUK! So far, the blisters have not broken. The Valtrex is supposed to keep the shingles from spreading.
