November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

so i thought you said it was a typo in the ad and the pulled and cancelled orders? are they now going to honor the price for online purchases?

Hello everyone. Long time reading this thread, first time posting. DS has done his own posting, but I thought I should chime in before we meet everyone. First of all thanks to all for the great tips and hardwork on this thread (i.e. wristbands, postcards, etc.). I will try to be diligent and post our Ohio State Info by this evening. My husband and I have also been having a great discussion on which Ohio vintage we want to share. I, too have been feeling the crunch, but we do have our door magnets about finished and I have a detailed packing list complete. Now it is time to start packing. I would like to let everyone know that Walgreen's has a Disney journal for $1.00 that I purchased for character autographs. Can't wait to meet you all. This is going to be great fun.

one of thr crew members on the wonder exposed himself while in port to a girl under the age of 18.Dcl kicked him off of the ship and the police is looking unto it. He was kept away from the guest during the rest of the cruise. I did pick up my $29.97 tv today. If you are able to order one and they have it at the store you can pick it up. :Pinkbounc :goodvibes :moped: :earboy2: :bounce:

Hi Ship mates - back from Disney's Food and Wine extravaganza at Epcot. On lettuce diet for the next 3 weeks.....but it was worth it,

Must reember to bring safety pins for cuise, the clothes won't fit now...

DisNurse - It looked like they were requiring admission all evening - up to the fireworks. Sometimes, you do not need to pay for parking, but that is hit and miss.

Looking for a weight belt for snorkeling as I will be bringing the wetsuit....I am from Florida, I get cold easily,,,,and no - we have not seen that change in weather yet - it was hot - hot - hot this weekend at Epcot.

Yes, the LIST - the ever present LIST - DH and I made ours on the trip home today. Must unpack and get ready to go back to work...oh yes, to earn money for the cruise.

FYI - We have a good set of moderators, they probably decided the thread was getting out of hand (subject matter) and pulled it....

Loved the comments on what kids can and cannot go as for Halloween.....('scuse me - I mean for that October 31st day of dress-up).

Take care...I'll check back and see how we are all doing...

so what is a "do not miss this food" booth at food and wine? anything just "to die for?".

what's with the moderator comment-did we get something pulled from this thread?

Food and Wine - I will post in a second. The moderator comment was not us, it was on the link to that horrible incident on board the magic.

Since you asked, here is Day 1 ---- We started this year in FRANCE having parked at the Boardwalk. It was lightly sprinkling and near dusk. My hopes of a 7:00 start time were missed, slightly – so “let the feasting begin”. I had already selected the “reds” for the tasting….

France saw - Escargot Provencal with the Chateau Bonnet Bordeaux Rouge. As a rule DH and I shared an entrée but not a wine (surprising how that worked).

Then it was onto TURKEY for both the Bostana - cucumber and tomato salad with pomegranate sauce and the Circassian Chicken - chicken salad with ground hazelnuts. Yummy. I had the Yakut Red Wine before we approached INDIA for the Red Curry. This is in the running for the best of show. It would have been nice to have more curry, but we know that they do not spice things up at Epcot…(Remind me to tell you about the Asian Lobster at the Festival. Oh, yes the wine, Grover Vineyard's Cabernet-Shiraz.

Next came the UNITED STATES and the Cheddar Crab Cake with dried cranberry slaw, surprisingly good, paired with the Rancho Zabaca Zinfandel.
Need we guess what was next? Iron Horse Fairy Tale, 2 please! And the Festival Wine Wafer. OK that could have stayed in the box!

I waddled over to AUSTRALIA for Shrimp on the Barbie, a repeat entrée I missed in past years, along with Little Penguin Merlot.

By now, time has past and I am repast with enjoyable tastes. A piece of Flourless Chocolate Cake with Irish Whiskey Sauce was procured for the trip back to the Champagne Booth for another Fairy Tale, before the fireworks started.

Ah, food….glorious food…. Tomorrow is another day.

And about the dress for formal night - yes, the diet has started :rotfl:

yum-the whiskey sauce reminds me of a great bread pudding we used to get with whiskey sauce :) . i'm going to make a stab at trying to make a dish i had several years ago-pumpkin bread pudding. as close as i could tell, i would just make pumpkin bread and let it dry out-then follow my standard bread pudding recipie.

well you've made me too hungry-got to go try a slice of the loaf of french bread dh made-just cooled enuf to try.

Hello, all....did everyone take a peek at "I have Dry Dock pictures'?.....If not, you'll need to scroll back a few pages from today and find it. You have to "enroll" and create a password but no big deal. It was worth it! The DIS'er took great pictures of OUR ship in dry dock with lots of activity going on! It made my heart skip a beat or two! :goodvibes

They looked very busy! Can't wait! Although it will be interesting what they do exactly with the deck 2 "kiddie play station."...we are RIGHT ACROSS THE HALL from those old conference rooms! Could be great or could be a party you wish to end! :confused3

So was this sexually inappropriate event displayed on the Wonder? I am sure that CM is sitting in a jail sell back in Tanzania by now! :rotfl:

I must make this short to go get ready for Desparate Housewives. Last week was my all time favorite episode thus far. That show rocks! Very funny! :rotfl2:

Taking a premie to brain surgery in the AM.....will be emotional and scary. We are so blessed with happy, healthy children.

Good Morning Cruisers - one day closer - must really get busy - but first, the update for Day Two – Part 1 - Such a nice way to spend our Anniversary. Today we started at the Festival Welcome center for a glass of wine. Unlike past years, more than champagne was offered, and only Pommery and Bafi – reds, whites and the new Bud in aluminum containers. DH had champagne but I broke with tradition to try the 10th Anniversary Chardonnay.

I opted for beer and chicken. Beer because it was so hot and chicken because I like it. So we started at TORTILLA COCINA for the Southwestern Turkey Cobb Wrap sliding into PUERTO RICO for Arroz con Pollo - Rice and Pigeon Peas with Chicken and the Cuccoo Bay Lemon Lager. I do not really like flavoured beers. Then on to MEXICO for the surprising good and on the list of best of show because of the chilies. Chilaquiles Baked Tortillas, chicken, cheese and Chilies…..with a small Dos Equis Lager.

Chile was next and DH returned with both of the two offerings Paila Marina – Seafood Stew and Portotos Granodos – National Dish – Cranberry Bean Soup. I scooted over to Ireland for a Guinness and what the heck, a Potato and Leek Soup as well.

Time for a breather so we shopped in China for a new purse for my formal wear dress. They did not have the style I wanted in September and low and behold, there was the red purse…(Mine now).

It was time for a repeat entry at CHINA - Chicken Sha Cha with Peanut Sauce with Tsingtsao Beer. Another very good entry, but a repeat so it may not make best of show. It is now really hot as we passed South Africa. Tusker is one of our favourites, but since it is offered at Animal Kingdom, we passed. DH had an OCTOBERFEST beer but unfortunately, my notes let me down so I know not which one.

It was time for more shopping, for a friends birthday gift, no luck. But we perked up at the CHAMPAGNE booth with a glass of Iron Horse Fairy Tale. No wafer today. Oh boy the BARLEY AND HOPS MARKET had so many offerings. The 10th Anniversary Festival Beer was a must have.

JAPAN provided the venue for the birthday gift and Nagoya Teriyaki Wings with Kirin Ichiban Draft. A stop at the inside Sake Bar was a must for Flavorful Dry.

Can we eat any more? Perhaps a short nap and cool off at the hotel before proceeding?

Later.... :wave2:

Hi!

I am Jennifer Lee, and WOW, so many messages. Sorry, but I can't read over 1500 messages between now and the cruise.

Anyway, some info on us:

Jennifer Lee, DH Michael Lee, DD10 Katie, DD8 Carrie, DD6 Abby & DS4 Jack (aka Captain Jack Sparrow...my Jack would become a pirate in a second if he could!) and our aupair from Japan, Megu (turning 25 the day before the cruise!)

Hailing from Leesburg, VA, DVC members since 1999. We go to WDW at least 2 x yearly (except this year as we used most of our points for this cruise). Sometimes just DH and I go!

We are in connecting rooms, deluxe inside, 2071 & 2073. We were excited to be beside the conference rooms, but now that they are going to be kid areas...I fear for our sleeping kids (and thus no rest for mommy & daddy).

We have late seating (we booked in Feb and that was all that was left!). A little nervous about this as DD10 falls asleep at 830 nightly, of course she is then up at 600. But, hey, this way she will get to see the shows, so I am not sure which would be better for us. We had early seating on our Wonder cruise 2.5 years ago.

Hope to meet you all on the cruise!
