November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

Ybells....yes.....so real. :cool1: Are you planning to use flounders at all?

Yes, I will be using Flounders. My older son loved it on our last cruise(he was 15 mos), and he will have to go in there again, since he is not cooperating with potty training since the baby came. So, my 2 boys will be using Flounders, and DD can go to Oceaneer Club.

Whatever the DCL veterans think is good is OK by me! Is there really enough time to do this between getting onboard, having lunch, getting your stateroom and the lifeboat drill?

It really depends on when you board. You can't get get to your stateroom until 1:30 so if you board early and have lunch first, there should be time to still get to your stateroom and unpack a little. I know with having a child she will want to get to the pool as soon as possible so that will be a priority for us. The drill is about 3:30 so it would have to be a quick meet, but we could also change the time to 2:45 if people wanted a little more time not to be rushed before the drill.

Okay, let's see what sort of links DIS lets me put up...

There are two options, I'm linking the one under the specific file, underneath is a URL you can copy and paste into your browser instead if that doesn't work - either one *should* get you to the download site to get the .jpg files. But I'm not sure what DIS will let me post here linkwise.

If you can't get the picture, PM me and I'll figure out a way to either email it to you or put it up someplace else.
The file size is kind of large, so that it looks decent printed rather than fuzzy. (Although the ship is a bit fuzzy no matter what I do, had a hard time finding a ship image to work with.)

Let me know if you want any changes!!

Thanks.

That is AWESOME yndygo!!!!!!!!!! I love it. Thank you so much.

DH rolls his eyes at me everytime I mention something about DIS board. He is often the trip planner, so he thinks it is quite funny how into to th e board I am getting.

Can't wait to put faces to all of you.

Michele,
How about Motts Strawberry Applesauce? My kids love that and it need no refrigeration.

I would kill for him to eat applesauce, but that is not one of his approved foods. :rotfl2: That being said, since he only needs to eat one spoonful twice a day, I bet I could get him to take it. I'll pick some up this weekend and try it. It would definitely eliminate my cooler/fridge worries. Thanks!

Sorry to hear you will not be joining us. I hope things work out for you.

Robyn

hey everyone....I hate to say this, but DH and I will no longer be traveling with you all. We can no longer stand to travel with Dmom and Dsis due to certain events that have taken place. I hate to not be able to go with you all since I have been looking so forward to this trip, but every penny we have, no matter how little, now has to be put towards other things. I hope you all have a great time.

My TA called me last night. My documents were put in the mail today. Can't wait to get them. She just got off the Eastern and said be sure to see ALL the shows.

I haven't mentioned to DH about meeting others on board. I know my kids will be wanting to swim a lot so I'm sure we will be around the pools a lot. I would love to have others around to chat with as well. I know my kids are not going to want to sightsee like I want to. So I'll probably go do that on my own unless someone joins me. My husbands usually in the pool with the kids while I sun. I do have massages booked and Palo booked for us. So we will have plenty of time together as well.

Michele,
I just though of another. How about the pudding cups that don't have to be refrigerated? They come in all kinds of flavors.

Hmmm...I might be able to get him to try the vanilla flavor. Connor is a very strange eater as i'm sure you've noticed from my posts. He won't eat anything sweet and ...gasp...he HATES chocolate! He generally won't eat cake, cookies or candy. The only exceptions are a few white items - vanilla soft serve, whipped cream, sometimes sugar cookies, marshmallows and the occasional lollipop (depending on the flavor, of course). Needless to say, Halloween results in my husband and I eating a ton of candy!

There is vanilla soft serve near the goofy pool. You would be able to get that as you need it, no need for refrigeration.

Never even though of that, thanks Lauri!

Anyone else still without documents? I thought they would come tonight, but no such luck. :sad1:

Now that we are within 3 weeks, I feel I need to bring up a very serious topic.:sad1:

Red, White Pink or Bubbles?

Those who do not state a preference will be categeorized as "h*o*m*o sapiens omnivinousiae", loosely translated in the Latin as "thinking man that consumes, without prejudice or preference, fermented beverages derived from the fruiting bodies of plants of the sp. Vitis Vinifera (wine)".:woohoo:

State your preference or be deemed Omnivinous!:rotfl2:

I'm so sorry to hear that you won't be with us. And more importantly i hope that things get worked between your family members. I'm so very sorry...

:grouphug:

First and formost, this is a family vacation. I would not alter plans that I had with my family to spend with DISers. However, on a ship with 2000 - 3000 other people, it is wonderful (?magical) to be able to walk around and say hi to people that you "know". Each family is there to have their own vacations, but it just adds a little bit of magic to the whole experience.

That being said, I'm looking forward to sharing little bits of magic with all of you!:grouphug:

Lauri

Well said! My DH and our friends think i'm NUTS too!! :rolleyes1

It will be fun to have a little extra magic on board!! :cheer2:

I keep telling them that I have LIME GREEN matching t-shirts that they have to wear to board the ship. My friend's DH is getting really worried that i'm serious!!!

A good location (where we met last year) was the drink station by the Mickey pool. That way there is no confusion on where by the pools. Also that way the kids can be using the slide while the grownups wait for each other. How does that sound?

Hi Spoohs! Sorry my DD has been so bad about writing....we fight over the computer here too much these days!

But yes...we will try and plan for the Mickey pool drink station! Sounds great!

And thanks everyone for your well wishes and prayers about the fires! We :scared1: are fine although fire was about a block away from us. I didn't realize how close the fire had come to us until we went for a drive on Monday night. WOW!!! I would've really been freaking out, had I realized how close the flames were to our neighborhood.

And then our dear friends evacuated their house when they saw flames at the end of their street in a nearby canyon. I think whats AMAZED me the most is our phenomenal fire fighters - they have done such a phenomenal job trying to save our homes and lives. And yet still there are parts of our county that look like they've been bombed. It is so VERY sad... especially since our particular fire was started by an arson.

Anyways....it makes me even more grateful that our family is safe and that we get to go on this wonderful Cruise. I printed out our packing list today, ordered walkie talkies and crossed a few more things off my list. :cheer2:

Does anyone have a Passporter guide? Was thinking now that I might want to get one. any thoughts?

I believe the boat drill is at 4:00, so a brief DIS meet at 3:00 should work, at least for some.

Embarkation day will seem rushed for many no matter what.

The DIS meet -- like each of the DIS activities -- is not mandatory. It's just an opportunity to stop by and meet (put a face to a name, let the kids meet, exchange cabin numbers or addresses, share cruise plans, etc.). Drop by if you can, but don't feel obligated.

On our last few cruises, meeting fellow DIS cruisers in person was a real highlight, and we wish we spent more time doing so. But that's just us. Your mileage may vary.

I called DCL, and they said that the fridge should keep everything cold enough. Not what I've read elsewhere, but oh well.
I hope they are talking about an actual refrigerator that they will put in your room, and not the "cool box" that is standard equipment.
