November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

you know what?? This morning at 5 am when I was standing there trying to make a pot of coffee and you know how things swirl in your brain when you're tired-- I thought "Good Grief! My title needs to be changed!" So I logged on here to do it, and there you all are, reminding me how dumb I be.

Well, DH came home from work and I told him about this latest seizure. He is an Internal MEdicine trained ER doctor. In light of the latest seizures (two on Friday, one today) he stated that he does not feel comfortable taking her with us at this time. There are so many legal ramifications with treatment of a minor, we would need medical power of attorney, etc. He feels that this is still not under control and would hate for her to be the one everyone reads about on here having to be taken from the park by ambulance. HE told Kelly (our DD13) that once they are regulated she can definitely make the next trip with us. I feel so badly for her. I have already told MOm that I will purchase the unused ticket from her and hold for a future trip.

Oh how sad. I am so sorry. That is so awful. I hope everything gets better and you're able to have an enjoyable vacation without too much worry.

We leave this morning!! We are heading out of our house at 9:30 to drive to the airport. Our flight leaves at noon and we will be in Orlando at 2:00!!! So excited....this evening I will be walking down Main Street and watching Wishes!! Hope everyone has a great vacation and maybe will see some of you there!

I know you've already left--- have a great time!!!

rcraw45425 - I am so sorry to hear this. Hopefully the Drs will be able to get everything regulated and she can make a trip in the near future. What a tough thing for a 13 yr old to go through. 13 is such a tough age for a kid as it is.

Good news: my DS's team won soccer sectionals Monday.

Bad news: my DS's team won soccer sectionals Monday. They play again tonight for the first round of regionals and if they win, they'll play while we are on vacation. If they win that, it's on to states the weekend we come home. I'm so torn. I want them to win but I don't want them to win so my DS can go on vacation and not worry about the team.

I can't even get excited about our vacation right now because I'm so worried and stressed about what he'll miss.

We almost had the same type of issue. Our football team made it to the playoffs. (My dd is in the marching band). Had they won the last game they would have continued on to the next and so on. It was sorta bitter sweet. I had hoped they would win but then I also new if they did she would miss one of the biggest performances at the playoffs.

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement, I truly feel we all made the right choice, especially after reading the post from the person who's DR said for the child to forego all rides whatsoever. I did see her mother this morning and she said that Stef was cool with it. I'm working with AAA right now to see if they will refund her ticket price. IF not I'm probably going to purchase it myself to save for future use.

Even though it is hard, it seems you made the right decision. How nice of you to still keep her in mind for a future trip.

So basically, open all drawers and dump into suitcase?
I just finished putting away the summer stuff- not a small feat with 3 kids. I had shorts and such set aside for WDW- now i understand why folks take so many suticases along! I wish I had some of those zip off pant legs for the kids... Thanks for the help

I am all done packing the kids clothes. I feel like I have packed a lot. I have 4 boys, and this is what I packed for each of them. I packed short sleeve shirts and shorts for every day, a couple long sleeve shirts and one sweatshirt, and only two pairs of pants. My boys hate wearing pants, and if they get chilly, they would rather just put on a warmer shirt or a sweatshirt.

I would be really torn too. I hope it works out. I hate to say maybe they won't win tonight, because I'm sure he wants to win. Let us know how it goes tonight. Would he miss the game that is the weekend you come home??

I can't believe we are down to 4 days!!!



Last night the kids and I made a trip to the Disney Store. It is 40 minutes from our house. I go to this store so often that I have made friends with one of the CMs in the store. Her and I always talk about our trips. She is also here on the Dis. She just got back a couple weeks ago, and talking with her made me so excited.

We put all the money the kids have been saving onto gift cards. I did this last year, and it worked out so much better than carrying cash around. Then they know that once their gift card for the day is spent that's it for the day.

They had their winter stuff on sale too. These things are way cheaper than waiting until we get to Disney. I got the kids each a warm hat and gloves with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald on them. I don't want their ears getting cold at night. Especially the twins, because they are prone to ear infections and severe breathing problems.

This is a pretty big mall, so I found some short sleeve shirts and a couple pairs of shorts for myself for really cheap.

So now I just need to pack all my stuff and all our bathroom stuff. I also need to make a trip to Sam's to get a memory card. I have been wanting to get the twins DVD players for a while so if I can find a good price on those, I want to get those too.

3 weeks from today! At this time we'll probably be finishing up our first dinner..... sushi at the California Grill! Then we're either going to mill about until the fireworks, or just head over to the Magic Kingdom, in which case I might try to time it so we can see them from the top of Splash Mountain......
I also made a tee time today! Initially I wasn't going to play because it is sort of pricey on top of everything else, but with all my health issues I haven't played in over a month and a half.... I figure I deserve a little splurge.....

Same thing going on here...my daughter's soccer team has a tournament this weekend in Roanoke, VA. I'm hoping she does well because a lot of college coaches will be recruiting this weekend. It sure is going to make for a long weekend with all the stuff I have yet to do before we leave at 3am Tuesday morning for our drive to Savannah and then onto Disney!
