November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

Extension cords are great! I bring a power strip.

Also- don't forget the sunscreen. It's very expensive down there.

Did you remember backup batteries for your camera and an extra memory card?

How about chapstick? Hand sanitizer? I used those two things every day- lots.

don't forget your phone charger.

Also--- don't forget your bathing suits! That's one thing that my DD forgot. luckily, we have family down there and they gave her a bikini to use.

Extension cords did you bring an extension cord, you never have enough outlets and its hard to keep reaching under tables to plug in the chargers for phones and battery chargers ect ect.

Thanks for the help!! An extention cord and power strip are things I didn't think of. I also need to get a couple memory cards.

And Jo... after reading about how you all had colds, I went out last night and bought all kinds of meds. We won't have a car, and I didn't want to be without them if any of us get sick.

4 more days!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

My DS's hs soccer team just won the sectional title last night!! This is an awesome week!:cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:

We've still got 24 days :( but I'm thinking about packing... what to bring? Shorts? Jeans? Does it get cold? Can we comfotably wear shorts all day? HELP!!!!:headache:

You probably will not feel comfortable in shorts all day. Bring at least 1 pair of pant in case. The lows can be down in to the 40's in the next couple of weeks. It usually does not last long but it can catch you off guard. You wil also need a jacket or sweatshirt for chilly nights and early mornings.

:)

I saw it on another thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1996399. Another DISer received a post card so I followed the link and registered. I got my confirmation already.

It's being held at the Strong Museum of Play on the weekend of Nov. 13-16

Thanks for the info. And we love the Strong Museum. DH is from Rochester so we visit every year and always try to make it by the museum.

Take shorts, jeans, s. sleeves, l. sleeves and a jacket. It can be warm during the day, but cool in the early mornings and definitly cool in the late evenings if you visit the parades or fireworks or late EMH. And don't forget the bathing suit.

Well, just had a scare. The 13YO that is going with us has been diagnosed with epilepsy. They are still trying to regulate her meds, she had another seizure on Friday at school (dosage has been almost triped since then) and she just had one in my kitchen a few minutes ago.

Sheesh! That's scarey stuff. I hope her meds get sorted out quickly but as her body changes, they'll need to keep making adjustments.

God Bless.

Oh my!!!! My thoughts, prayers and much pixie dust going out to her!!!

well, it's been busy here on our end. My grandson has bronchitis and both of my daughters are at the Urgent Care this evening being seen for sore throat, sinus infections and cough. Great! Well, at least they're getting it now so we can get meds into them before we leave Tuesday!

The van finally got it's oil change today and am in the process of doing laundry every day so nothing gets backed up before we leave. I do not want to come home to dirty laundry other than what we bring home from the trip and with 6 of us in the family that means doing a load of laundry per day otherwise it gets all backed up. ugh!

Hey! Wait a minute! The title of this thread is 'we leave NEXT month'. Ten days to go! Bwahahahahahaha!!!

Poor little dudes will be shipped out one by one. I swear they're just going back to the North Pole. No elves were harmed in the making of this post.

Hey JoBird. Title needs to changed again. We leave THIS month! :cool1: WooHoo!!!!:cool1:

Well, DH came home from work and I told him about this latest seizure. He is an Internal MEdicine trained ER doctor. In light of the latest seizures (two on Friday, one today) he stated that he does not feel comfortable taking her with us at this time. :( There are so many legal ramifications with treatment of a minor, we would need medical power of attorney, etc. He feels that this is still not under control and would hate for her to be the one everyone reads about on here having to be taken from the park by ambulance. HE told Kelly (our DD13) that once they are regulated she can definitely make the next trip with us. I feel so badly for her. I have already told MOm that I will purchase the unused ticket from her and hold for a future trip.

We leave this morning!! We are heading out of our house at 9:30 to drive to the airport. Our flight leaves at noon and we will be in Orlando at 2:00!!! So excited....this evening I will be walking down Main Street and watching Wishes!! Hope everyone has a great vacation and maybe will see some of you there!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

OH, how sad. Hopefully they will get her meds regulated soon. My oldest DS was diagnosed with epilepsy a few months before our trip when he was 9. The doctor said he shouldn't ride any rides  on our trip. And then he developed a reaction to the meds right before we left.

Have a great trip. We look forward to hearing about it when you return.

So basically, open all drawers and dump into suitcase?
I just finished putting away the summer stuff- not a small feat with 3 kids. I had shorts and such set aside for WDW- now i understand why folks take so many suticases along! I wish I had some of those zip off pant legs for the kids... Thanks for the help

Poor kid- I'm sorry you are in such a situation. I'm sure it's tough all around.

Good news: my DS's team won soccer sectionals Monday.

Bad news: my DS's team won soccer sectionals Monday. They play again tonight for the first round of regionals and if they win, they'll play while we are on vacation. If they win that, it's on to states the weekend we come home. I'm so torn. I want them to win but I don't want them to win so my DS can go on vacation and not worry about the team.

I can't even get excited about our vacation right now because I'm so worried and stressed about what he'll miss.:sad1:
