Hey everybody. I just wanted to throw my family in here!
Eric (16) me
Allison (14)
Deanna (42)
Ric (51)

Can't wait for it!

I can also convince those teenagers out there that they're gonna like this cruise :thumbsup2

Noelle, Thank you so much, it worked!

Hi Eric, Welcome! Please tell us what there is to do in the teen club. Thanks!

The teen club is awesome! It's now called the Vibe (changed its name from the Aloft, which I prefer). The first day is where all the teenagers get to know each other, etc. A few games are played. These are Gender Wars- guys against girls. When there isn't a scheduled game going on teens can hang out, watch a movie, play guitar hero and mario kart, just whatever. That's the fun thing about it, is that its up to us to do what we want! And we can come as go as we like!!! There are some scavenger hunts, which are pretty fun.

The BEST part about the cruise is the amount of friends you make! I'm actually going to visit the family we had dinner with this fall in Texas! (I live in SoCal)

The counselors in the teen club are so cool and relaxed! All of my friends have them added on facebook! took us a while to find them, but we did (;

I think that just scratches the surface when it comes to the teen club. I knew I was NOT excited for a DISNEY cruise last year when I was 15. About three days before we left I was moping around the house, wishing we were going to Hawaii or Europe... Ever since I got off the ship last year, I was begging my parents to go on another one! So we booked the Alaskan trip (AWESOME) then this cruise to Mexico.

Going back to the DISNEY part of the cruise. I'm not a crazy disney fan, so I don't care for the pictures of Mickey, but I went the last two cruises without having anything to deal with Disney stuff. Ya, I took a few pics with Mickey and Goofey, but I wasn't stuck learning how to make Mickey's head out of play doh.

Overall, it's the vacation of a lifetime! I've made so many wonderful friends around the states and I wouldn't change it for anything (:

I'm always here to answer questions about anything!!!

Thank you for that great response!
Also, is it better to book shore excursions through Disney or through other outlets?
Thanks,
Amy

I got my ticker working..WhOOOOOHoooo

Went to DLR this weekend...spent Sat. night. Had a great time.

BTW if you go to Grand CA, Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier thru the summer, you get two anytime fast passes per stay....been great.

We've gone on Star Tours 7 times now :) Great ride!

Shore Excursions... SO MUCH BETTER THAN JUST WALKING AROUND THE PORT CITY! haha

The two cruises I've been on, my family hasn't booked through Disney. When we went for a 5 day Bahamian cruise, we went to Castaway Cay, which we did parasailing (if you call that an excursion), and Nassau, which we walked around (don't recommend that, because it is scary). When we went to Alaska this month, we booked through a website called ShoreExcursions.com I believe. I'm not quite sure how this website operates, but it got us on a train ride to Canada in Skagway, a helicopter ride and dog sledding on a glacier in Juneau, and zip lining and rock climbing in Ketchikan. I loved all these!

The one major thing that Disney shore excursions has over the others, is that you walk of the ship and its easy to find, etc. With these three that were with outside companies, it was a little difficult to find. The busses weren't always there or whatever.

Disney has limited choices and I think you can find a better selection through other companies. If I were you, I would first look through Disney, then google other excursions. But, you are with other families on the Disney cruise, and 2 out of the 3 shore trips that we went on was just our family. (Not necessarily a bad thing :thumbsup2)

Hoped this helped!

Eric

One thing to think about:
Shore Excursions with Disney are good because if you are late from the excursion...and with a Disney Excursion..the ship will wait for you. If you take your own, the ship could leave if you are late.

Just a thought.

We were at DLR last night, too. Beautiful night.
We booked our MR excursions through www.johann-sandra.com and were very pleased. We cancelled one of them last minute and the refund was there before I got home.

So funny, we were there with friends and then spent night at Grand CA (our favorite).
Got in to Disneyland at 7am this morn. and went on Star Tours 3 times :)
We left at 8:30AM.
Home by 9:45 AM
--btw took us 2 hours to get there yesterday :(

Hi everyone. We would love to join your group especially the FE Group. My name is Jane, my husband is Greg and we have 2 sons ages 13 and 8. We were originally scheduled to sail on the Magic this fall, but my son switched schools and no longer has fall break. We are excited about sailing from the west coast. We live in Pennsylvania. Go Steelers!!

I just put two an two together and realized I will be out of town when it is time to book Palo!! I was really hoping to snag a brunch there. Any GOLD CC members traveling on this cruise? I believe your window opened up already. Could you tell me if you see any Palo brunch slots available? If there isn't, then I can at least not stress about that even though I do hope to get a dinner at Palo too.

We could not pass up the deals for California residents! It was a no brainer. :thumbsup2

There will be five of us: Mike (DH), Raven (DD, 16), Cheryl (Grandma), Joe (Grandpa), and Lisa (me). This will be our 6th Disney Cruise (4th to MR- one on Carnival).

We have no excursions planned, but we will be having brunch, high tea, and dinner at Palo's. I can already taste the chocolate soufflé :goodvibes
We also will be indulging in several spa treatments. FABULOUS!

I am a bit overwhelmed with the limited planning time since school starts in a few weeks, and I will not have much time for magnets and FE.

Does anybody know if the ship will be decorated for Christmas? We were on the 11-Day Holiday Cruise last year, and the decorations made the cruise so much more magical.

I cannot wait to get to know everybody. Take care and talk to you soon.
