On another note. Had a small GTG with Susiesark and Boutilier and their friends and family at Downtown Disney Anaheim. Very nice day to meet a lot of very nice people. It's beginning to look like a wonderful cruise.

This will be our second cruise. My husband and I took a 4 day cruise on the Dream in April and loved it. It was our "test drive" on cruising since I can get motion sickness easily in cars. I had it all planned that we were going to book the Med cruise for 2012 - then poof, no Med in 2012. So we booked the MR for Thanksgiving week. No Airfare! Plus, we don't have to wait as long.
It will be the first time cruising for my two daughters (18 & 11). I'm hoping that they'll like it as much as we did.
We're in two rooms (6085 & 6084).

Now the hard part is trying to figure out what excursions we want to do...I have 5 weeks to figure it out before I can book. I was hoping to do the Zipline thing in Puerto Vallarta. But my kids are super chickens. Anyone have any great excursion experiences they'd suggest or recommend?

Welcome aboard, Noelle. We too are from LA (Westside). This is also our 2nd cruise. We also wanted to book the Med for 2012 but ended up booking Caribbean in 2012. We are also on Deck 6 (aft 6142 & 6138).

p.s. Do people trade pins with Cast Members on the Disney ships like at the parks?

When we were on the Dream in April, the Cast Members in the stores on the ship and on Castaway Cay had pin lanyards on for trading. But outside of that, I didn't see anyone else wearing them. Plus the stores on the ship were not open all the time, it was mostly in the evenings.

Just back from our quick trip to DL. It was nice to meet some of you in DTD. We are definitely looking forward to this Thanksgiving cruise. I am hoping time will begin to move faster once the kids are back to school in August and soccer season is in full swing.

Wouldn't mind an extra day in Cabo, be won't get off the ship if we get re-routed to Ensenada. We had to give up Mazatlan and we spent a day in Mamzanillo in April. Nothing to do there.

Okay....So is our cruise going to end up with 3 days in Cabo? I've never been to Mexico and I was kind of hoping I'd get to see at least 2 stops.

Cleaner, anyway. Maybe I should have likened it to the New Orleans French Quarter. The aroma is to die for. I mean you will die once you catch the aroma.

I'm not familiar with gift exchanges or fishies (?)...I have done Meet and Greet with Cruise Critic people. I guess if we brought some vinylmations or pins we could do the gift exchange??? Where would the exchange be?

This is going to be our 8th cruise to MR. Our first with Disney...all other cruises were on Princess.
We live in L.A. so we don't have to fly anywhere, just hop on the ship
We have wanted to go on Disney for a while and now that there is going to be a ship here every year, we will probably do Disney from now on.
Oh, and we are big time Disney nerds. We just spent the weekend there at our favorite hotel the Grand Calif. and ate at Napa Rose (we love red wine..gonna do some wine-tasting on the ship).
The kids and I probably go to DLR about 2 times a month (Matt has to work
"to keep us in the lifesytle we are accustomed to" ....)
We are even going to D23 on August 20...yep we are those nerds
Anyway, that's a bit about us.....
so I guess I just wasn't exactly sure about the gift exchange.
