Nov. 2011

It's still really early and I am holding out hope that there will eventually be a code during Jersey week. Our dates our 11/8-11/15 so we are in the blackout period and our dates are not flexible at all. But this is crazy early for November dates to even be out...our last trips during Jersey week didn't get discounted until mid-August, so I won't panic until then:) Still would have been great to be done with it now though! Maybe it will make those dates busier and less people decide to go during Jersey week? Wishful thinking!

How's this for dumb luck...I'm planning on going back after Thanksgiving again this year and I have a co-worker who wants to go after Christmas. This morning I was telling her about the pin codes that were coming out but from what I've been reading were only good thru 12/24 which means it would be good for me but not for her dates. Well I hear her calling me from her cubicle asking me about what I was telling about pin codes and guess what...she got her email from Disney!! Needless to say, I spend the rest of the day checking my email. I'm sure if I finally get a pin the discounted rooms will all be gone.

How are you guys getting these pins?? Disney has all of our email addresses as we've done various surveys, etc...but no pins! I WANT A PIN for our already booked trip for 11/27-12/5!

I have been waiting and doing all the tricks to try to generate an offer for this November but no joy. We need a trip there badly - withdrawal - and want to surprise the spousal unit with a club level room. Never did that before. (Club or a surprise.)

Finally I called two days ago just to see if there was a pin attached to our name. After navigating the voice menu (what a mess! Each attempt at spelling our name failed badly - managed to exit that to an operator by pressing zero. Handy trick.) Talked with a helpful, friendly lady, and yes! WE HAD A PIN. :cool1: But she wouldn't tell me what it was and the time period.

So I went ahead and set up a tentative schedule with tickets and trip insurance (how much is insurance?) and she gave me a total. Seemed high. Waaay high. Thanked her and said would call back with any changes - we may need to flex a day or so.

Went on-line and did a rack rate reservation, added in all the things as best I could estimate - that tax is a hassle - and I am looking at a 17-20% pin deal.:mad: Very disappointed. That is nearly too high to even consider garden view (Floridian) much less club. Pondering what to do next.

It wouldn't be so critical except that round trip plane is running at least $700 each. We did recently check out Universal - Harry Potter and got a great deal at the Portofino (very nice - great time). May have to stay there instead??

Any suggestions from you lucky rascals??:worship:

what kind of discount did you get during Jersey week?

I wasn't there, but I made a point of noting 2010 discounts it as I was planning Nov 2011 trip... 40% for Deluxe and Villas, 35% or 30% (forget!) for Moderate, 25% for Value for all of November except Thanksgiving.

Hello to all the November trippers! :) One of my BFF's has a dream to see Disney at Xmas so who am I to deny this? :rotfl2: It would also be my first girls trip to WDW and I'm starting to get more excited about it! :) We are considering the week before Thanksgiving (Nov 13th - Nov 17th) and also Dec 4th - Dec 8th. I'd much prefer the November time frame as my family's first trip was during this special week and the low crowds were wonderful. Unfortunately for us the Osbourne Lights weren't showing until after Thanksgiving that year so I'm really hoping to catch them this time.

Do you guys have an idea of when they'll announce them this year? I know we might get lucky and see them during this week, but in the past they've also been after Thanksgiving. If so, we might have to go in December and that's Pop Warner week.

Thanks in advance,
Heather

probably going early november for 10 days --2 adults 1 junior and 1 child...DS7 eats like a bird but all the time, DD11 eats but not be considered an adult. and well I still dont like the dessert on the dining plan...I'm trying to workout so I can lose weight to go to Disney! hehehe. Would love the free dining for us that works...fingers crossed

We went the 2nd week of nov in 2009 and the Osborne lights came out on the 10th

This is exactly what we want - dates and all. Our quote is $3269 with no discounts. What pin did you get? Is your DDP Quick Service?

Sorry, I didn't see this until now. I got 35% off room rate. I didn't know I had a pin, I just called in and the CM said there is one attached to my name. :cool1: The DDP is the basic plan, not quick service or deluxe.

One of my friends went this past year the week before t'giving and the Osbourne lights were up, as were many decorations. They had a fabulous time with low crowds except on weekends, that helped up decide to go the same week in 2011. :thumbsup2

Thanks to both of you! I hope they announce the Osbourne Lights "officially" so we'll know for sure we'll be able to see them this week (before Thanksgiving). This would close the deal on this week, for sure! :cool1:

I received this pin in my email a couple days agao so we changed our dates and booked it - same as you! But, we got quick service and only 6 day tickets and our price is $2513.

If you already have a vacation booked, can you still call in to check for a pin under your name, and if there is one there, can you apply it to your already booked trip?

I'm just curious....we're booked for 11/27-12-4 but a discount would be nice if they have one!

One other question, don't they ususally start advertising discounts for the end of the year by now? I mean, I thought free dining for this past November/December 2009 was offered in late Jan 2009 / early Feb 2009?

Yes, you can apply it to your already booked trip if:

1) discounts in that category do in fact still exist at your resort and
2) you don't already have any sort of discount applied.

Actually, until just recently, they didn't even announce the typical free dining for mid-Aug through the end of September until late March! Anything for later in the year never came until summer.

Hang tight. I don't doubt for a moment that there will be decent offers for the late fall/early winter for the general public.

Dh is military and I would LOOOOOVE to know if they are going to extend the discount for military. We are looking at branching out and getting 2 rooms for the 5 of us if they keep the 35% off for mods.

If not, we are SQUUUUEEZING in to the cheapest possible! :grouphug:

We want to go 12/17-12/23. It will be our first trip so I wanted some place nice!

I am waiting for a room discount or a pin for the week of "Jersey Week" !! I would love to spend my honeymoon in the Poly but if not then we will settle for what's in our budget!! :cool1:

Ugh... Both dh and I have saved numerous trips on wdw.com, and no pin. We need 2 rooms to house our gang. Actually FD would be better, but I don't want to book without a discount!

I am in the same situation! Waiting on some sort of discount that will work for our week so I can go ahead and book! There will only be 2 of us in our room so a room discount would be in our favor!!

Good Luck on the pin!! :wizard:
