Nov. 2011

We changed our dates and are no longer going in Dec, but will be there 11/12/11 - 11/20/11 @ POP.

Just putting an ear mark down for a possible 11/8-11/13 trip! We're trying to narrow it down and so far this timeframe is in the lead! :cool1:

Now let's hope for some type of discount that would benefit us all! By the way, does anyone remember what the AAA rate off the rooms is? We haven't used them in @2 years but I might see what the discount is. I prefer to book directly with Disney, however. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

I'd love to join in on this thread. My family and I were thinking of going for NYE but now we are thinking Thanksgiving. Do they usually have codes around that time (11/24/11-11/29/11 to be specific)?

Unfortunately Thanksgiving is typically blacked out for discounts. I think the black out usually is from the Wednesday before until the Sunday after. This year we had a room discount pin. We were able to use it because we were arriving on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. When we wanted to add the Saturday night we discovered it was not covered by the discount and would be rack rate.

Dang! I was hoping for a discount. I think I should still be able to use my AAA discount though.

I don't know if I want free dining now - since the crowds seemed to have been reported to be really bad this year at that time. Perhaps just a room discount. Either way, it won't change our dates, but saving some $$ is always a plus! :goodvibes

We are hoping for a discount for Nov 8 to the 15th. We just got back from our Dec trip and I'm already planning next year.

You'll get there the day before us! And we're leaving the same day! So cool! But we're staying at ASMo. This is our first ever Christmas-time trip, so we're REALLY excited. Oldest DS will be 12 when we go (turns 12 the day before we leave - so he's REALLY excited) and we fear the farther he gets in school, the less we'll be willing to pull him out. :guilty: So this is probably our first and only Christmas trip - we're gonna make it good!!:woohoo:

Us too!! Nov 24-Dec 4 at ASMo is our plan - me 8yo DD and 1yo DD. By then it will have been 3 years since our last trip (a "record" for us but necessary due to budget and then the new baby) so I'm hoping some discounts will come out to keep us from having to cancel again.

Hmm....we may both be the only families in the pool seeing as we're both from colder climates!!! Here's to hoping we get GREAT discounts!!

does anyone know if there are ever any codes historically for the first week of November (Jersey Week)?

My daughter will definitely be wanting to swim!

free dining was offered this past year a few days before the beginning of Jersey week, I know quite a few families took their kids out early to make the check-in date. 2011 Jersey week is the 2nd week, since the NJEA convention is Nov 10-11...so who knows what will happen :confused3

Thanks! I just found info for 2010, Jersey week "started" 10/30/10 and the free dining ended 10/28/10. We are hoping to go 11/5 - 11/13 next year so we would be there for Jersey week. If FD follows this years pattern and is available on 11/3, we can switch our dates a bit. Our school here in CT is closed 11/7 and 11/8 so I figure this would be a good time to go :)

I think we'd save more money with FD than with a room discount.

Free dining was offered this year during our last visit (11/14-11/19). We did not use it because we had a great room only bounceback offer we used and it was myself and my DH this time so we thought the room only was a better deal for us. This was after Jersey week and food & wine festival, and the crowds were the best we've ever seen. We were able to ride everything, and only needed fast passes for the most popular rides (Soarin', Toy Story Mania). We rode RRC and TOT at HS seven times each in one day (extra magic hours were that night). The Christmas decorations were up and we were able to enjoy the Osbourne Festival of Lights without the mad crowds people are reporting at this time. We are returning with the whole extended family next fall; a grand gathering of 21 people! Needless to say, we're holding out for the free dining this time, and I hope it comes. I'd like to go back the week before Thanksgiving again, but we're Northern NYer's (practically Canadian) and my brother just CAN'T miss hunting season! Also, niece and nephew will have started basketball and wrestling, so we're looking at the 3rd week in October (week before Halloween). Any feedback on that time from experience would be welcomed!

Hmmm, after reading all the comments about the crowd levels this year - I'm not so sure I want a discount anymore! Maybe if they don't offer free dining the crowds will be thinner...hmmm....:rolleyes1

Count us in. We are going from the 28th- Dec. 8th. I am hoping for FD, because there are 8 of us and I definitely think that the savings will matter. I will take any discount though!
