Nov. 2011

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but the fiscal meeting that Disney just had doesn't look good. It was officially mentioned that Disney will be doing some belt-tightening when it comes to discount promotions. Since the promos are already out through September 2011, I hope this doesn't mean there won't be any to be had for Oct-Nov-Dec of 2011.

With that said....
1. How many of you already have your trips booked for fall of 2011?
2. How many will have to cancel if there isn't a promotion offered?
3. How many will consider movin their trip to a time when a promo is offered (earlier in the year?)

I have a sinking feeling in my stomach for November. Disney waited until July of this year to offer anything for November. That is cutting it pretty close for us, and by that time I probably won't be able to get the free dining for September anymore if I have to re-book. What to do.....what to do.

I'm targeting November or December, but won't even consider moving to an earlier date. I think it just means it will be later before they offer the discounts. If bookings stay low, offering a discount will be better for them than leaving the rooms empty.

A booming economy is the answer to their woes, not ending the discounts.

Keep in mind too that December rates have already jumped, as they are no longer in the cheapest rate category. I think without a discount on top of that, people will be really hesitant to take the plunge.

And if worse comes to worse....... we'll go anyway and enjoy the empty parks! :cool1:

Excellent questions. I have our October trip figured out 10 different ways - different hotel levels, promotion, no promotion, dining plan, no dining plan, etc. We haven't booked yet, but we're committed to going during that time frame because we really want to celebrate DD's birthdays at DW before they get too old to have that dreamy look on their faces:cloud9: A great deal would be nice, but it's not a deal breaker for us if it doesn't happen.

Do you think that if they don't offer promotions for fall 2011, park attendance will be less?

Honestly, I didn't know what a promo or a discount or a pin was until I joined this board last year. I have always gone through a TA and then directly through CRO the last few years, since 2000, and have always been happy with the price. And I pay double occupancy to go alone.

I have already booked my trip - parks/cruise on the end - for next year. If I receive a pin, so be it. If not, I am still going no matter what.

Just a thought. But the more people who book a trip and then wait for a discount actually puts less pressure on Disney to issue the discounts ... the rooms are already filling up. If the rooms are filling up, why offer a discount? I'm not telling anyone not to book. We all have our comfort level & it's a gamble holding off if you're worried about getting the specific reservation you want, plus it's hard to hold off when you're planning and want something concrete (like the reservation). If we aren't offered a BB while we are there in a couple of weeks (and I'm not counting on it) I think we will keep checking availability and try to hold off on making any reservations. Hopefully a pin or discount will come along after the new year. We don't want to book for September, so the FD currently being offered doesn't factor into the decision making for us.

I think this is what WDW hopes for, that people will just go ahead & book. A few weeks ago I was playing with the online ressie system. I had a "chat" with a CM and asked him about fall discounts. He said he didn't know when a discount would be offered, but then he tried to push me to go ahead and book anyways.

We will not go without a discount. I'm not even booking until I see something I can use. If we have to push it back to 2012 or not go at all, we will. There are a lot of other vacations we want to take, but keep coming back to Disney. Maybe it's time to branch out...DC, Colonial Williamsburg, out west, Hawaii, Europe - lots of choices.

Same thing here SarahD - we say we will go somewhere else and always end up back to Disney. Although once DD turns 10 and we have to pay adult prices for a 10 year old, we might find somewhere else to go.

I can move my vacation to September if need be but no earlier. I do hope they offer something in November though.

We had originally planned to go the week before Easter, so Nov rates are at a discount to us anyway. I would love if they sent me a pin code though.

I am hopping on the November 2011 train! I am going to be getting married in South Carolina on 11.11.11, and plan to go to Disney for my honeymoon 11/12-11/19...

I can't really shift my dates around, because I want to go directly after the wedding, but the soon to be newlyweds- will be paying for the honeymoon by ourselves, and would love to have the FD or the discount room rates!

We are planning to stay at the WL! I really want to go ahead and book because I don't want to lose our hotel with our honeymoon dates, but I don't want to miss out on a good deal!!

Here's hoping for some good things for Nov. 2011!!!!!

We are also going for Thanksgiving next November. There will be 8 of us. I am going to book our rooms this week. I hope a good discount comes out. I keep telling myself that it will be here before we know it. I can't wait!!!!

If I were to book for end of October/early November 2011 now, and some type of discount does come out, how easy/hard is it to apply it to my existing reservation?

I'm hoping to go in November 2011 too :cool1: What's the weather like in Orlando at that time of the year?

We just got back; were there fro Nov 11-16. Highs in the high 70s or low 80s, night time lows were not too bad. Just needed a sweater over a t-shirt, but then we're Canadian.;) Others may feel cold differently.:)

Thanks for the weather info.!!!!:goodvibes I am from Nova Scotia, so it will work for us too!:) We usually go in April , this year the temps. were 100 for 3 days!!!!!!:scared1: It was HOT, too much of a good thing!:rotfl: I could use it today, as it wet, windy and dark!:headache:

We plan to go Nov. 2011!!!!!!:woohoo:

how were the crowds? what was the longest line you stood in?

Just wanted to join in- we are booked nov 26-dec 4 2011. We are going with or without a discount- although I'm hoping there will not be free dining an we will get a % off room- I can't hurt to hope :). It will be the last chance to Pull DD ou of school to see Christmas decorations, so it's a done deal- we did change from our initial plans for the poly to pofq to make it more affordable though.

You'll get there the day before us! And we're leaving the same day! So cool! But we're staying at ASMo. This is our first ever Christmas-time trip, so we're REALLY excited. Oldest DS will be 12 when we go (turns 12 the day before we leave - so he's REALLY excited) and we fear the farther he gets in school, the less we'll be willing to pull him out. :guilty: So this is probably our first and only Christmas trip - we're gonna make it good!!:woohoo:
