We are hoping for free dining. My parents said they would take us on a trip next October if there is a good deal such as free dining or big discounts. Hoping it'll be posted so we can book dinner reservations early!

we went last November and there was both the free dining and the room discount promos going on. we went with the free dining because the kids wanted to do the character meals.
we are going next November too! we are hoping for the room discount though.

We hit one day of Jersey week and that was enough for us. A couple of years ago we went the end of October/beginning of November, the week before jersey Week. On our last day at the parks (Friday) we tried to hit our favorites one more time. Went to Epcot. The line at Soarin' had been maybe 30 minutes during the week, if that. 180 minutes. Same thing at Test Track. We ended up paying $20 for chicken nuggets and fries and hopping over to MK. Couldn't believe how crowded it got.

We're hoping for a room discount for Nov. 2011, either week after Jersey week or week before Thanksgiving. We always went for FD in Sept- but this was the last time- the heat finally got to us!

We're going with a YES group this year, and it saved us a lot of money. We prefer a room discount, and are actually planning to spend next Thanksgiving week at the Dolphin next year, so free dining is not a factor for us. I would love to be part of your group for next year - I have two kids that would participate! (Ages 9 and 6 next year)

OK sorry I have been out of pocket for a few days. I will keep the information on all who are interested and call next month to see what we can get. I just would be heartbroken if we couldn't organize one. They seem so great!

And Yes for all of you I am hoping for free dining! I am staying offsite at a resort this time for a longer trip.

We were there a couple years ago during Jersey week and was actually pleased with how empty the parks were. We never waited more than 5 minutes for anything except TSM and SP (only waited in line for those because we were tired and needed a break from the fast pace we were going). Most everything else was basically walk on.

Interesting! I wonder what accounts for the difference? Maybe the weekends are high crowds but midweek not so much? I can't remember exactly what year it was that we were there...2006, maybe? Before TSM.

Yeah, I wonder. Of course we had never been in November until 2008 and so that may be why it seems so empty to me as I had only been when it was crowded. I'll have to pull some photos and post a few showing the crowd level. We are planning to go back in 2012 and hope to go in November then as well

Anybody thinking there may be new offers out at the end of November when the gift card & % off room offers expire? Free dining can be booked through Dec 20th, but the other two offers are only good through Nov 21st.

I was wondering the same thing but since the card offer and room discount offers currently running are only up to 2/16 I think we will have to wait a bit longer to see anything for Nov 2011, have my fingers crossed they send out pins for the entire year like they did last January

You're right - it's only the free dining that they've announced so far ahead of time...more waiting...

What exactly is the pin used for and how do I get one?

A PIN is an offer that goes out by mail (sometimes actual mail, sometimes e-mail) to specific people. There are many guesses are to who gets a PIN code and why, but no one knows for sure. They are not transferable - the person with the code is the one who has to book, although I understand that if you have a code you can book up to three rooms with it. The offer could be for a percent off room rate or free dining - there are many different PINs out there. Sometimes you'll have one and not know it. You can call reservations and ask them to check. If you have a PIN code in your name, they'll tell you.

Someone on Oct 2011 watch thread posted that a castmember told him fall discounts would most likely come out in April. Unfortunately, I think castmembers don't know at 4pm if a special is coming out at 5pm, so probably not too much credibility there. Besides, if that's correct it means six more months of "watching" for November specials!

I don't mind waiting for November deals as long as they come! Traditionally is there anything? The only time we went in November was the week after Thanksgiving and I think it was value season then. We still want to try for Jersey week since our school is closed the first 2 days of that week (in CT).

This makes me happy, because we really want to skip free dining, but we won't be going if there is no room discount. Is there a room discount or anything else happening this year during Jersey week?

I really don't want to go during Jersey week, but this is when our schools are closed for the Monday and Tuesday. I guess we could take the kids out of school the week before and go the last week of October then they'll get 2 extra days at WDW
