Nov. 2011

I would love to hear if anyone has been able to use this on a package with regular dining. I called yesterday and was told this was for Deluxe dining. I may try to call back again today....

Thank you for posting this! We're booked at CSR for 11/13 - 11/23 with dining so I called just to see if this code would apply to my reservation and it did!! :thumbsup2

The CM I spoke to said that it was a room only discount not a dining disount. I had already applied a 20% PIN to my package, but this code was considerably better than that since it dropped my total by $250!:banana::banana:

I was curious about what the discount would be on a deluxe resort so I asked her to price it out on WL. The price acatually went up by $200 over what I was quoted with my PIN so, as you found with your reservation, it's only applicable to certain (higher priced) rooms at deluxe resorts.

Do you have to keep calling back until you get a CM that will apply this discount? The man that I talked to said that it was a BB offer and could only be booked from the rooms. Thumbs down to Disney for arbitrarily applying discount codes. :-(

I was actually comming her to post about this. We're actually doing a split stay with our first night at ASMo (we have a 2 y/o who is a Toy Story nut) then we'll be moving CSR for the remainder of our trip. I called to make the single night resort only reservation and was told that it was a BB code and that I should not have gotten it on my other reservation. I talked to the same guy last week (we both remembered because he's from my hometown) and he was EXTREMELY nice about it. He said that I would still get the discount since it had already been applied, but that the person that did it would be written up. Even though I don't think I did anything wrong (just called to ask about the discount) and it was the girl's mistake, I feel really, really bad. The last thing I want is for someone to get in trouble. :guilty:

Heck, if I thought it would get her off the hook I'd call and undo it in a heartbeat. $250 isn't worth someone getting written up and/or possibly losing a job over. Do you think it would do any good?

What is a bb discount?
Bounce Back...Disney frequently offers a discounted price if you book and pay for (I think) another trip before you finish your current one. We've received one once, but we didn't use it so I don't remember all of the specifics. I've heard of some people getting really great deals in BB offers.

Happy planning to u too!

where u eating for TG? 2 years ago we did Cal Grill cause it's one of our favs. I didn't realize it wasn't the normal cooks. It sucked! Like really sucked! let me say also that i have been going to disney multiple times a year now for 12 years and i have never ever had a bad dinner in a signature place. We just couldn't get over it.

We booked narcoossee's this time cause i THINK they are having a normal menu with some extras? so does that mean normal staff for cooking?

other than that we can't wait!

do u have anything else to still do?

i think we are getting a birthday cake for our 2 year old. last dec when we went we had brian do a minnie themed one for cindy's castle. it was awesome. i think we are going to do another this year.

There are 22 of us going for TG week! Not too happy about my relatives jumping on the bandwagon with my TG trip! But, I will make my plans and if they are in the same park at the same time...well then I guess we'll see each other! :rolleyes1 Not doing TG with everyone, majority want to do Hoop de doo for TG and the six in my immediate party do not! So we opted out. My 9 year old son saw a youtube video of Hoop de doo and he was like "Uh, no!" Love that kid... We will do two meals all together that WL IPO made for us - Whispering Canyon on Sunday 11/20 and 'Ohana breakfast on Wed. 11/23.
Right now I have two reservations for TG dinner - my Mom has one at Artist Point for the 6 of us and I have one at Sanaa. Not sure which one to choose. My DH wants Sanaa because last year they offered regular menu and TG menu and he wants to try the regular menu. I like the windows that look at the Savannah. We stayed at AKL back in 2006... Never been to Artist Point. Heard it was Prix Fixe 2010 and the prices were around $60 Adults, $30ish for kids. Have to decide if I want to pay those prices, since we can't use TIW card on TG day!
We did LeCellier for TG dinner in 2008 and it was bad too. They had regular menu and TG menu. We all ordered the TG menu and it was definitely no worth the price.
I don't have anything to do now that dining reservations is over...just get through my summer vacays and start the daily plan in early fall. Really want to get another trip in this summer but don't think it is going to happen. Passes don't expire till end of April...so I am going to push for late winter, early spring 2012.
I definitely want to order a cake...I love ordering cake from WDW. I try to find a reason every trip. I was thinking either something celebrating the reunion at Whispering Canyon or something celebrating DS getting his Black Belt (if he actually does at the end of the summer). We'll see... I like the fact that you can get 20% of the cakes too with the TIW card!
Have fun!

code for reg dinning is GX8, used it this morning to save $320

I just called about the other code and the CM told me it was Bounceback offer. I thought that code looked familiar...I saw it in my BC CL room when I was there in April.
Don't know if I want to call back again for this code. What is this code suppose to be for and where did it come from?
Thanks for info...

I just called (for the second time today) and the GX code is the same thing, being a BB offer.

Ok, first of all, exactly what kind of codes are these? Meaning, what kind of discount do they get you? Is it 40% off your room when it is part of a package? I am already booked under Kids play free (with 2 kids) so it is a much better discount than any room discount as we are staying at AS Sports.

Also, I booked through Disney's website, but since have had the ressie transferred to a TA....can I even call Disney to ask if a PIN is attached to my name? I imagine I CAN, but I probably can't make any changes to my ressie, can I? My TA will have to do that? First trip and first time ever letting a TA handle any vacation for me....Thanks for any help!

We are planning to do a few nights at a resort/a couple park days before our cruise leaves 11/12..Planning to arrive 11/9. I was planning to stay at CSR, but am holding out to see if there are any great deals that include dining or a Deluxe resort for approx the same price. :) With our AAA discount it was about $160/night at CSR. Fingers crossed we can come up with something better!

Now I'm getting a little confused...is the DY9 code that I got a BB offer for the package with deluxe dining or is it completely different from the GX package you are saying is a BB offer?

My CM actually went to guest services to get this applied to my second room so I don't think it would have been allowed had it been a BB offer. Since guest services gave the go ahead for it, I would guess that it is allowed:confused3

Maybe I'm having a blonde moment and you are just referring to the GX offers as being a BB???

TIA

I called and asked about the DY9 code, said I thought it was a dining code. The CM that I spoke to said that it was actually a % off room only code and not a dining code, she applied it to my package and the total dropped by $250 from what it was with the PIN code I was already using.

I called back the next day to book my single night room only at ASMo and the CM that I spoke to then said that the DY9 code was a BB code and that I should not have been able to take advantage of it. I told him about my call the previous day and that the girl I spoke to actually applied it to my reservation. He assured me that it was a BB offer and that the CM that did apply it for me would likely be written up. I know that I've talked with the same guy (second CM) before and he was very nice, but I was a little suprised that he shared that last little piece of info with me.

Thanks mmmcl.

Yes, I did know it was for a room only but sometimes they use different codes for regular or deluxe dining even if they are under the same discount. I must drive them, crazy because I am always changing my reservations and I noticed one time my code changed when I upgraded to the deluxe dining plan from the regular one even though I was still using the same discount that was offered. This discount was actually for 40% off the room only. I added the dining after I had secured the discount but I wasn't sure if she changed the code to signify the deluxe dining or not.

Still find it odd that guest services allowed it for an extra room if it was against the rules since they have the final say in any offers that the cm's give out . I just keep thinking they wouldn't have allowed it if she had used the wrong code. She came back to the phone just thrilled that she was able to get the second room for us so I know she wasn't reprimanded. At least I'm glad to know she won't be getting in trouble since it was done with guest services approval!

I just hope now they come out with some kind of discount for Jersey week! Thanks again. Glad you got it too!!!

Hoping to get a code for 11/10-18. I haven't booked our vacation yet, but so far I have saved 3 offers for those dates + 8 day park hopper + DDP at: POP, POFQ and WL! I clearly have not made up my mind :rotfl:

I made all but one of my ADR's...just have to call T-Rex tomorrow morning....and then we're all set for our Family Reunion Grand Gathering in Nov/Dec. I was hoping for a discount....but if by judging how easy it was to get the ADR's that I wanted...maybe NOT having free dining being offered this time is a good thing for us. Maybe it won't be as busy and will be more like the 'off time' that it used to be! *I'm keeping my fingers crossed*

I just called Disney and was told there are no discounts right now for November. what gives?
