Nov. 16 2013 7-night Fantasy Eastern Carribean Cruise

We all know, or at least should know, the risks when cruising during Hurricane season and that usually means itinerary changes, missed ports of call, or even the potential for a complete cancellation.

You know, it's not just bad weather that can cause an itinerary change. Everyone should be aware that anything can happen. You might have an itinerary change because a hurricane hit an island a week or two before you even sail, but the damage could be so bad that they send you somewhere else. Or as what happened to my dad on a 10 day cruise out of NYC. The first port of call was supposed to be Bermuda but someone had a heart attack on the first day at sea and the ship had to change direction and head back towards the U.S. so a helicopter could meet up with the ship and airlift her out. Because of that, the ship was not able to make it to Bermuda and had to continue on to the next port of call. Unexpected things can happen at any time. For me, a cruise is not about the destination. It's all about the ship and activities onboard.

Hi Everyone
We just left the Fantasy yesterday where we booked this cruise. There will be myself Steve, DW Karen and DS Matthew who will turn 14 on the first sea day. We had 35ish cabins for the FE, the meet-n-greet was in Vista Cafe. We all wore green bracelets to identify each other and Shutters staff took a group photo. We were very sad to leave the ship and very excited to be going back so soon. A lot of us hung out together, we got to know each other pretty good on a private Facebook page leading up to embarkation day. My son was disappointed with the Edge only because he was expecting to be eligible for the Vibe as he would have been on the Magic or Wonder. Not so on the Fantasy. There is lots of fun to be had, the ship is beautiful.

No countdown this Saturday! I'm leaving on the Magic out of NYC to Canada tomorrow! SO EXCITED!!! Countdown will resume next weekend!

Welcome Aboard Steve. Can't wait to sail on the Fantasy. Have sailed on the Magic 5 times and love it, but we are really looking forward to experiencing the newest ship.

My granddaughter will be turning 4 on the 17th and my grandson will be turning 1 on the 18th.

LOVE having the Facebook page. You can really get to know everyone better that way. Seems easier, plus you can put faces to names. Easier to spot everyone on the ship that way. On our last two cruises we wore green leis on the first day. Since I have not sailed on the Fantasy, I left the "where" to have the group meet blank. Did you like the Vista Cafe for it? If it's a good spot for the meet then we can just go ahead and put that down as our spot.

Halifax was wonderful! I loved it! I would go on the Canada cruise again if DCL comes back to NYC.

Hi Kari! And welcome again. I just checked the FE List and noticed that you had signed up back in October. At the time you had a cabin number but now you listed it as GTY. Did you change you cancel and rebook? I want to delete one of your entries, but don't want to remove the wrong one.

We have been on RCL twice, and Celebrity ( American Girl 25th Birthday Cruise). Disney looks so much more fun than RCL!!
