Thanks Tammy. I put in a good word with santa, and I'm pretty sure it's in the bag. ;) In the meantime - I've been using my phone for pics, so there are some in my next post - promise :cutie:

Hehe. You're making me want to watch it now! I even have my Bernard and Bianca ornaments on my tree!

We're getting really close! Thanks for reading along!

So.... we're a month out (okay well technically Thursday is a month out - but still) really close!

So, today some of my AWESOME friends came over and we did a binch of wedding crafts. I forgot to take pictures when we were all working - it was quite impressive, there were of us working for several hours!

I'm one of those people that has all these great ideas, that end up being a ton of work and then when i realize that I usually start them get about 1/2 way and then get overwhelmed and the project ends up getting scrapped.

My friends totally saved me and helped with a bunch of crafts that I totally would have just scrapped - and they've even offered to help me one more time in a few weeks. Seriously I'm so lucky :cloud9:

Okay.... so onto the crafts

Programs -
I wasn't going to do these, it seemed unnecessary with such a small group, but as it turns out there are going to be several people we don't know at the wedding (dates and guests of guests) so I was starting to think about doing them, and a few weeks ago at Micheal's I found a kit that was marked down and with an extra 40% off, so I got them for less than $10 for 40.

It was a Brides kit. I must say, that of all the kits I've used, this was the best and easiest - so definitely a good deal!

There was also a matching invitation kit, so I decided to use those for my Menus as it was again under $10 for 40.

We printed the menu in different color ink to correspond to the different colored tables. The gem matches too!

On the same trip to Micheal's, in the same clearance bin, I found Martha Stewart favor boxes for like $2 each for 24. So not worth it! These were the biggest pain in the butt ever! DF, my dad, my mom, Chris and I all tried to get those stupid things closed. Then today my 2 of my friends tried too - to no avail. Finally my friend's daughter figured it out. And they're totally cute, but goodness gracious PITA.

I'm going to fill them with these delicious chocolate covered cake bites that fit perfectly in them. Lemon and Red Cake... just like our wedding cake. yummmmm

Another project that seemed simple on the outside were the luggage tag place cards. I got a great deal on the luggage tags, but putting them together how I had them in my head was like an 8 step process that involved unwrapping, disassembling then re-assembling and re-wrapping each luggage tag.

Did I mention my friends are AWESOME!

It's cute, but not positive the juice is worth the squeeze on this one.

So onto the crow jewel of the over complicated projects... the blankets.

This was a good idea that just got our of control. I bought blankets at Target from the dollar bin. But when I got them home, realized they were dog blankets :rotfl: They work just fine, but they were really small. So I decided to sew two of them together.

The problem is that... I can't sew :rotfl:

Enter my friend Oma. She's awesome! She learned how to use her sewing machine just for me!

Oma.jpg
So awesome!

But since I don't sew, I had no idea what sewing 50 blankets together would take.... let me tell you - it wasn't as easy as I'd imagined.

They turned out really nice, and we wrapped them up in some "happily ever after" ribbon with a disney sticker. Again, I'm pleased with the results, but not sure the juice will be worth the sqeeze. Acutally, now that we put all this work into it - I'm 100% positive that we'll have 80 weather

To further guarantee that we'll have hot weather, I bought hand warmers at costco and wrapped them to match the blankets....

See.... aren't my friends awesome! So now I just have some welcome bag projects to do - and they're planning on coming in a couple weeks to help too. Awesome!

In other drama... Chris's brother (aka BM) told him yesterday that he might not be able to get off work. :scared1: Seriously.... we picked this date over a year ago.... seriously :confused3 He gave us 2 months notice for his "destination" wedding (in state, but far enough away that a hotel was needed) and we freaking made it. I'm so pissed there aren't words. It's not so much that he might not come, but that DF's family treats him like such crap. They pull all this crap, and don't care about how it makes him feel. Grrr.

Now I should probably do some Christmas shopping!

The projects look great! :goodvibes I especially like the programs, how cute and what a deal! You're very lucky you had all your girls to help you with everything. My BM's are not the crafty type, so I'll be doing it all myself. But I'm also the crazy perfectionist type...so even if they offered to help I'd end up just fixing everything myself. :lmao:

Those boxes are really cute too, it stinks they were such a pain to make but they look great! :)

Everything looks great! you have some awesome friends! :cool1:sorry about the family drama.

ETA: Patricia was great!

Thanks I'm really pleased with how everything came out! My friends were all shocked that I was even attempting to do any crafts at all. I'm definitely not a perfectionist :rotfl:

Thanks Tammy! I'm really happy with how everything came out.

I hope everything works out with DF's brother. I just feel so bad for him - all the family drama is on his side :headache:

I love your invites! They are too cute!

Thanks! The invites were really easy to make.

so...
26 Days :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

WOW Joanna, your projects all came out OUTSTANDING!!! I love the luggage tags and favor boxes! Too bad they were a PITA to assemble. I can't believe you are under a month away! :goodvibes oh, and i forgot, the programs and menus are awesome. LOVE them! :lovestruc

on another note, I'm sorry to hear about DF's brother. Here's hoping he gets off of work:wizard:. In my opinion, there is no excuse for missing your own brother's wedding when you've know about it for MONTHS!

I just realized I never commented on your craft-a-palooza. Everything looks fabulous and I now feel so far behind because I have done none of those things yet!
Also I may have to have my mom get me into CostCo when she comes down because she really wants hand warmers! When we went to the Studios for EMH last week a CM gave her his because she was freezing and it wasn't even really that cold out. She is now convinced that it is going to be freezing at our wedding lol

Thanks! I'm really pleased with how everything turned out, and it really was all relatively easy - assembly only stuff. I've got craft day 2.0 scheduled for the 15. We're really down to the wire now!

Hey Becky - can you stand how close we're getting? You're so not far behind, I got a head start on my stuff because I knew I wouldn't be able to do it alone and it was one of the only days my friends could make it. I'm worried now that DF's brother is on the fence because I have the programs printed already. (yeah, I have my priorities straight :rotfl2:)
I  costco it's great for wedding stuff! When we were in Disney in January years and years (like I think I was in middle school) ago, there was a cold snap and there was a high of 23 one day and actually frost on the ground. Even though we live in the frozen tundra... it was cold. We had to buy extra sweatshirts and even fuzzy character hats! It was soo cold! So my mom too is convinced that it's going to be abnormally cold. So we've made blankets and got hand warmers and umbrellas from the dollar store. I figure this should ensure sunny and 70!

So.... 3 weeks from today I will be getting married! It's awesome and gives me a panic attack all at the same time. I'm so excited to finally be getting married, but there's soooo much to do still and the days are just evaporating! I know it will all work out so I'm trying to stay zen.

My sister was home over the holiday and went to get her dress hemmed. The seamstress looked and her and said the dress didn't fit her at all and completely re-built it in a day! She says it fits much better now (but actually didn't realize it fit her poorly to begin with) It worries me a bit since she doesn't live here so she won't be able to have a final fitting once it's done. I'm picking up both her dress and mine next weekend.

We also had another (that's #4 for those of you keeping track at home) shower last week. This one was holiday themed, and we got some nice decorations and stuff. It was mostly people that will be coming to Disney, so it was nice for people to meet and everything.

We got some good pictures (santa came through with that camera for me) I'll have to post later.

We're really down to the wire now, so I'm kind of stressing that I'm forgetting something.

Wow Joanna! You were one busy lady! I love all of your projects! They all turned out great! Your guests are going to be spoiled! I can't believe how close you are! I'm so excited for you! It's going to be here before you know it!

Thanks ladies! Exactly two week from today at about this time we'll be saying I Do

I had my final dress fitting yesterday. I took my dress and my sister's dress home.

Still no word on DF's brother. Which is RIDICULOUS  Seriously, he just needs to tell us either way so we can move on and figure it out! I'm so over DF's family they're just so inconsiderate and act like our wedding is an imposition to them. :sad2: Poor DF.

I picked up some folders to use for information in the welcome bags and am printing out all stuff to put in the folder.

And I ordered brownies for the welcome bags from fairytale brownies. They're really yummy and I thought it would be cute with it being Disney and all. Plus they were on sale - bonus!

I also picked up some umbrellas at the dollar store for the welcome bags and some purple and green tissues from Michael's.

Basically just winding down. We picked up some larger suitcases from my parent's house and will start packing this week.

We're really getting close! Eeek!

So... The accuweather 14 day forecast is up... and it looks like all my hard work and preparedness for the cold are paying off... it's supposed to be 82 on the 23rd :rotfl:

80 and sunshine both days :cool1::cool1::cool1: Hopefully it's not too hot (hey I need something to fret over ;))

We bought a tux for our back-up BM tonight, since we still haven't heard from FBIL. He's not returning DF's calls - so mature! But, at least we have a back-up and I'm going with that. We also had to exchange DF's shirt, as the sleeves were way too short, and he didn't realize it - boys!

Other than that, I contacted my vendors to confirm everything, and I have a final craft-a-poloza on Saturday we're really in the home stretch now!

We leave in a week! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Wow, I can't believe you still haven't heard from fbil. i'm glad you have a back up bm all set though! :thumbsup2 also, YAY for 80 degrees and sunny. I'd take that over this crappy Chicago weather anyday, regardless of if it's too hot! hope craft-a-poloza 2 is even more successful that the first:wizard:

OMG I can't believe you leave in a week!!!! It's coming so fast, I'm so excited for you! The weather today was gorgeous! not as warm as 80 but warmer than it has been. I'm glad it's warming up for you!:goodvibes

yey! I can't believe you are so close! I'm glad the weather is going to warm up for you. I hope it sticks around for me! Although I'm hoping for a little cooler than the 80s, but I'll take that over 30s!
Hmm if the weather is that nice, I'm totally going to have to stalk your wedding! lol
