Not really seeing the savings w/ the 4/3 deal?

Hi!

We are looking into booking a trip in time for the Star Wars Weekends (May 23-June3) and just to see what kind of discount I was getting, I did a quote with the link to the special (Buy 4, get 3 free) and one quote through the regular site with no discount. At the POP for 2 adults with 10 days tickets (hopper + water parks) I got a total of $1610 with discount and $2183 no discount so I find that its a pretty good discount! I am planning to add the dining plan and my total with dining comes up to just about the same total as the regular price would be. I like to say that I'm getting "free dining" in May!!!!! heheheh

Also we fly out from Burlington VT for under $300 a person in comparaison to much higher rates flying out from Montreal Dorval.

I just booked the 4/3 deal over the phone with Disney for just me from Jan.20-27 at the All Star Sports with the $200 gift card - $614 for 7 nights with MYW pass. Got airfare out of Buffalo, NY $79 there, $72 back.
Did you try going online and pricing it out on your own??

go with sun wing. I think theres still seats left. Total for the entire flight was about $500 for two people there and back. That includes all the ridiculous fees and taxes that i think should be included in their original price. Oh its a direct flight too.

I bit the bullet and have a reservation for Jan 29 - Feb 5th at CBR.

Expedia.ca was advertising direct flights from Ottawa to Orlando on my chosen dates - I'm paying just under 600.00 for 2 adults (return) so for that price I'm finally feeling like I'm getting a deal. My resort and parks tickets all came to 1,358.16. Which is the price I've been quoted on by 3 different agents (firgured a get a few comparisons *before* booking).

So I have 2 final questions......

My aplogies if this has been repeated on this forum (but I searched for a thread on the topic and couldn't find anything)

1. Will I recieve my 200.00 gift card upon arrival at CBR? Assuming so, is there a voucher I need prior? As I don't see anything of the sort on my already booked itenerary?

2. Does CBR offer free wireless in the rooms? if not, any idea how much is charged for useage?

Thanks in advance! :)

The $200 gift card is listed on my Disney reservation itinerary. If you don't see it on yours, you should call to make sure it is included.

Have a good trip everyone, some really good deals.

Make sure you tell the TA to book the Magic express (WDW pickup at airport) when they confirm everything).

I don't see the deal with the extra 3 for 4nights purchased either.
I just priced a week in May at POP for 4 people. The cheapest flights I found were $620US and once you add the dining plan it works out to be over $3000 Canadian. That is NO deal considering we've gone for $2200 including the dining plan.
But I do think the dining plan should be purchased with any package. Food in the parks is so expensive so we always purchase the DP.
Now, I'm wondering if Disney will be coming up with any other special deals that include the DP. Apparently the number of people in the parks is down .
I'm thinking that Disney will come out with some better deals to get people down there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

We too live in Ottawa and fly out of Rochester. Your dates show a cost of $162.50 per person with a direct flight both ways. We love the Rochester airport. It is easy to get around in and Airtran has always been great for our flights.

The Holiday Inn Rochester Airport will allow you to park your car for the whole time you're away if you just stay one night. They have a great shuttle service for free but of course, we tipped the nice driver.

Yes, it's a 4 hour drive but the nicest thing is driving through customs is a lot less painful. Also, Disney's Magical Express will collect your suitcases in the baggage claim in Orlando and take them to your hotel room. If you fly from Canada, you have to collect your bags in Orlando, clear customs and then check your bags in at Magical Express again.

And it's cheap!

Hi there. Your quote seems a little high, so maybe I'm missing something. You're going Value season, so room rate should be about $150/night, so $600 total + tax. Your park tickets should be under $475 for the two of you. Maybe you added hopping or waterparks, or a preferred room? The only reason I'm questioning it is because I just worked up the cost for a friend 2 weeks ago, family of 4 at a Moderate, during PEAK season, and only came to $1766. And it appears from your flight prices that there are only 2 of you going.

Great deal on your flights! :thumbsup2

Also, when i first got my confirmation of my reservation, and the message had a "click here" link to see it, it detailed everything that I'm getting, including the $200 gift card. However, when I look at the emails entitled "Invoice" with the reservation number, it only gives the cost of my package and my payment history. As well, you should get something in the mail with all of the vouchers. Hopefully you get it in time, but I'm sure there is another option for you if it doesn't arrive in time. :)

Happy travels.

I've gone Value in the past and have stayed at either ASM or POP, this time around I've decided on CBR. Also that I am Canadian so factor in the exchange rate -what I was quoted is not so bad considering the 4/3 deal. I decided on CBR this time as I plan to just kind of sit back this trip....since this is my 5th trip I figure I will take my time and enjoy staying at the resort (especially since the parks close earlier than I've experience when attending in late summer) CBR has a fridge in the room so now I can store leftovers, prepare cereal and make coffee in the morning...all those little things/comforts that add up.

And yes, once I saw those flight deals (Sunwing charter dep from Ottawa) at 600 x 2 adults....Disney was a done deal! :)

Hi again. Value season is not the same as a Value resort. The time of year you're going is Value season, ie. the least expensive. The quote I did for my friend was for a resort of the same level as CBR, but during a more expensive time of year to go. :) But I think if I'm understanding correctly, your quote is in Cdn dollars, not US? Then that would make perfect sense since right now it's going around the $1.30. Sorry, I always book myself so I assumed you were talking US $ and that maybe you had booked additional things. ;)

The 4/3 deal is pretty amazing! My friend is about to buy 4-day base tickets for about $400 less than I'm getting my tickets AND resort for 7 days ... and that doesn't include the fact that I'm getting my $200 gift card! :upsidedow

Also, Disney's Magical Express will collect your suitcases in the baggage claim in Orlando and take them to your hotel room. If you fly from Canada, you have to collect your bags in Orlando, clear customs and then check your bags in at Magical Express again.!
If you have to clear customs in Orlando, you are not obliged to carry your bags all the way to the tram and then to the Magical Express bus. Instead there is a second conveyor right at the customs station.

Many Canadians wil pre-clear U.S. customs at their home airport and not have to do that in Orlando.
