Not ready yet???!!! A February trip report! Update 10/25 Day 9

Hi, Karin! I've missed you... Max was sick this week, so I was pretty absent from the boards and am just now getting caught up. It doesn't seem possible that what you're writing about only happened two weeks ago! In fact, you know where we were two weeks, right this very minute? :rotfl: Oh, how I can't wait to go back... I am quite hopeful that next February will happen, no matter what, and now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that maybe the stars will align in the most perfect way possible and we'll go back this July.

I cannot believe that you get Camembert and vanilla pudding with real vanilla in it! :rotfl: That's amazing... Too bad its not as good on the way back!

WPE looks great. We'll have to try it one of these days.

Hi Karin, Nice update. Hope you are having a nice Sunday. Here in NC we are awaiting a rainy afternoon. But that is ok because we need the rain. After seeing Pixies pictures I broached the subject again with my husband about getting another cat. We lost both of ours in the last 3 years. His attitude is that if they live as long as Kevin and Amos did we would be in our 80's! Oh well give Pixie a hug for me. Elaine

Hiya, I am trying to win a trip to Austria through the travelchannel but I am somehow convinced the game is rigged lol:rotfl: It is so frustrating when you plan and plan and there is a monkey wrench in the works! My mouth is watering looking at the WPE porn :surfweb:

All caught up :) Great start to your TR, you guys always look like you have really good plane food. Virgin is great and all but you would never see a chocolate cake for dessert with their dinners.

I love the Musketeer's pic at the beginning, is that this year? Never seen them in the parks before.

Pixie is just too cute and you captured some great shots there :cutie:

Can't wait to read more :teeth:

Thank you for your sweet comments on Pixie! She's our "only" cat! I don't know how we could afford more than one - she only eats the most expensive small tins of food and then she is really picky! ;) And yes, she gets something else if she doesn't like her food! She is one SPOILED little girl. :rotfl2:

I love spoiled girl kitties. I had one for the longest time. (actually would fuss to get me to hold water in my hand so she could drink it) It was so hard for me when she passed. After a series of acquiring not nice/mean kitties We now have "my kitty" from a litter that was found under the tree outside. She is quite the princesss. We also have another rescue kitten who was so sick and goobery when we first got her. She isn't as much of a princess... but she is my dh's kitty. If I had my preference we would just have these two.... but the others no matter how crazy are still part of the family. :confused3

How frustrating it is when there is a snag with the hotel reservation. :confused3 Believe it or not... Our stay at POR 2/2010... the reservation got lost. It was a mess. Check in took hours... and it was days before all our dp credits were in place properly. Your room does look pretty comfy though!!!

WGPE .... Yummm... again before breakfast here. :-)rotfl: I know...dinner for you)

:lmao: Was there any other way to start your Disney vacation then with WPE? :rotfl: I love reading your pre- & trip reports. Hurry and finish this one!!! :rotfl2:

Great update! It's really too bad they messed up reservations AGAIN!! Good thing they had open rooms.

Wow, what a wait at immigrations! I'm glad I don't have to go through that when I get to MCO.

Mmm, sandwiches from Wolfgang Puck look very good!

Hi Karin, we are excited about a DISmeet in Sept. Just email me when you are ready to plan.:thumbsup2

Pics of WPE food are always appetizing! I know that that is the first place we will go after check-in.

Yes, claire (and I) is very excited and can hardly wait for our trip. Skips brother broke his leg and we have worried he may not be able to go now, as if his brother can't walk, then Skip has to stay home. if that becomes the case, we will take my DD Paige. At this point Skip is still planning on coming though.
Claire still keeps talking about your post card. She loves that you said Mickey is counting down the days till she comes. She really believes that! :thumbsup2

I can't believe how they keep messing you your reservations ther at that hotel.

Karin & Ter1, a Dis meet would be so great! I just love these forums. Karin, you have help me to decide on WPE. I never wanted to go there until your reports, so now I'm down for WPE!

I gte to make my ADRs Wednesday! :cool1:

Those rooms look really nice! What I liked even more was the food from WP's...oh how I love that place and never can I have enough of it!!!

Oh Karin what a mix up with the reservation !!! By now you know our plan is for off site the first night !! But I will call a month ahead and check they have the reservation !!!I have stayed at Country Inns before and always found them great !!I am booking thru hotels .com and the rate is really good !!

90 minutes for immigration?!?!?! Jeez that is totally absurd!

I stayed at the same hotel about a year ago. It was still Quality Inn then. I'm glad you found it acceptable, but it's what convinced me to never stay offsite again! The housekeeping was awful. The room I had was really gross when I got to it - questionable stains on the bedspread, cookie crumbs all over the floor, surfaces were sticky....:headache: I'm like you now....no offsite, value or don't go at all!

I was happy to read that the hotel was able to find a room for you. Thank goodness you had all your paperwork with you.

We haven't eaten at Wolfgang Puck in all of our trips to WDW but, after looking at your pictures as well as the pictures of other Disers, I think we've got to add that to our list of "must try" restaurants.

Hi Karin,

Nice update. :thumbsup2 I just love seeing the Disney signs on the highway. :goodvibes From that point on, the anticipation of arriving is killing me!

Thank you, Sophia!
Those first signs are so special - whenever I see them for the first time it really hits me that this is NOT a dream, we are really there! :cloud9:

Those sandwiches look yummy popcorn::

They ARE yummy! We had them a second time later in the trip! :thumbsup2

Karin hello! I have literally followed all of your dining/trip reports. And was super excited that you had started this new trip report, and I had got in on the very first post versus coming in months later.
We will be back to the World May 30-June 7th, and have just hit a bump in the road. I'm hoping that you will be able to help me out. Our family is Myself, my husband, and our 2 boys (soon to be 4 and 7).
The recent oil hike is going to kill me in price increases for airfare, so we are looking to leave a day earlier. For our dynamic, would you think this hotel would be a good fit? Im very picky whenever it concerns my boys, but the pictures look promising. What's your thought? TIA for any help you may have.

Hi Tiffany!
So nice you're joining in here too! And even from the start! :woohoo:

As for the Clarion. We found the rooms to be very clean and the beds comfortable. There was a small fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker (which was broken but that is part of my next update! ;)) The bathroom was clean, our only complaint would have been that they use a tap aerator and it took forever to fill a cup of water. It felt nice to take a shower with, but I would NOT like to wash my hair in it.
So if you are only staying for a night or two I would think it would be okay, not so sure about a longer stay.
As I said, we just stayed the night and IF we should go next February (pretty please! ;)) I am thinking of just doing a value for the night.

Hope that helps! :goodvibes

I can't believe they had you down for Jan. 19. since you had the confirmation number in hand that stated Feb. 19:confused3 At least you were able to get a room. The rooms look pretty decent.

I can't imagine getting off such a long flight only to head into a line for 90 minutes:eek:

WPE looks great as usual. I guess that is when all the traveling finally makes it worth it:thumbsup2

I don't know if he just made up the Jan 19 reservation, because I am sure they would have charged me as a no show if they really had had the reservation - I guess it was just "lost" in their suystem.
Last year they had to relocate us and we got lucky and got to stay at the Shingle Creek resort for the Comfort Inn rate. Parking was pricey though and the hike from the parking lot to the resort itself was looooooong!! :lmao:
The rooms were fine for the night - just not sure I would have liked to stay for a longer period of time. :confused3

We knew we were in for a long wait at immigration. Sitting at the very back of the plane we were within the last to get off and that meant being at the end of the line. It is just so frustrating if you only have a week and 90 minutes are spent in line to even enter the country.

And it would not be a vacation if it were not started by a meal from Wolfgang Puck! :rotfl2:

Okay...I'm VERY late, but I'm here. Now I have to go back and read to catch up.
