Not A Good Visit To The Doctor

I just wanted to let you know that I had a very bad case of pregnancy induced hypertension with my first DS. When I got pregnant with my second DS (9yrs later) my OBGYN was very concerned I would have the same problems. I watched what I ate and I went walking EVERYDAY. My Dr. also told me that a diet high in Magnesium and Calcium seemed to help some women with PIH. I took supplements everyday. Guess what - I had NO signs of PIH with my last pregnancy!:D So, try not to worry.:sunny:

I'm sorry the doctor visit wasn't so good, but its good to have the lump found and checked out. Try not to worry and keep us posted. :grouphug:

Hey Becca, sorry that things are so rough for you right now. I also had labor induced early for pre-eclampsia with my first daughter. With my second daughter, I developed pregnancy induced hypertension and my obstetrician immediately put me on bed rest. It never developed into pre-eclampsia so maybe you will get lucky this time. It makes you hate those women who talk about how they never felt better than when they were pregnant!;)

Hope you are feeling better!

 I hope this lump is also nothing serious.

becka, take a deep breath and relax. You are going to be just fine. :D

I'm sorry to hear about your frightening dr. appt. I had pre-eclampsia with both of my pregnancies. My daughter's delivery was a nightmare because my blood pressure kept getting higher and higher. They were much more aggressive with my second pregnancy in terms of putting me on bedrest and inducing labor when that stopped working. I now have healthy and happy 18 and 16 year old children!

Good luck!

I'm so sorry that your pregnancy is starting off with so many scares. I hope everything goes well with your health as well as the baby.

I got put on bedrest at 33 weeks due to high blood pressure (never made it to pree thankfully) and I know that will be an issue whenever I have my next one and I know I will worry probably more, too.

My doctor also found a lump during my first prenatal visit 24 1/2 years ago! He sent me to a surgeon and it turned out to be nothing....haven't had any trouble since. I pray that it will be the same for you. And altho I never had BP problems I did deliver my DD 7 weeks prematurely, and she did just fine...she graduated from high school last month in the top ten of her class....prematurity does NOT always have to be an issue! God's blessings to you and your precious cargo!

Good wishes, Becca, hoping all goes well. Take it slow, day at a time. My prayers are with you regarding your medical concerns.

Try to stay calm and stress free -- I"ll be praying for you.

Try not to worry (better said than done, right). I had blood pressure issues with my first pregnancy but from what I understand, it's more common with first pregnancies. My next two were fine, no issues at all. So try just to relax and look forward to your next bundle of joy!

I had pre-eclampsia with my DS9. At 30 weeks, it was severe enough for me to be hospitalized. Spent the next 4 weeks there, delivering him via emergency c-section as I had developed HELPP syndrome. Today, it's hard to tell that he was 4# when we brought him home. No long term complications whatsoever.

With DS4, I was considered high risk because of my history. My OB put me on a regiment of a baby aspirin a day -- which I continued until he was born -- full term. I did have problems at times with my blood pressure spiking -- like when I sat in the waiting room at the OB waiting for an ultrasound for 2 1/2 hours -- only to find out the OB decided I could wait until the next visit for the u/s   . They watched me very, very closely. I had visits 3X per week starting in my 6th month. I did a lot of bedrest at home. Whether that helped, whether the baby aspirin helped, we'll never know.

What I'm trying to say is each pregnancy is different. If you worry about your blood pressure, of course, it's going to be elevated when you go into the OB. I have a case of "white coat syndrome" -- never fails my blood pressure is always higher when I first get to the doctors office. Maybe you want to check into getting a home blood pressure machine and checking it daily, keeping track of the results and take them with you to the OB.

I know it's hard, especially with Nathan still being so young and needing you. I hope everything works out and will keep you in my thoughts.

I just want to tell you I hope everything works out fine. Many prayers on the way.
