not a fan of fast pass plus

Since when has a petition EVER worked with Disney? Internet petitions are a dime a dozen.
exactly and to get noticed it would have to be signed by hundreds of thousands of people even millions. Disney isn't going to change something because a few thousand don't like it. There was probably a few thousand or more that didn't like legacy FP. Disney isn't forcing you to use this and this isn't causing any difference in standby lines than what happened before. Unless droves of people and I mean thousands and thousands of people just leave and don't go to Disney ever again than that's where we will see change. The system isn't finished yet and FP was bound to change at some point it's 15 years old.

I love the new FP+!
We will be using it again on 2/1 for a week and looking forward to our vacation. I hope it stays.

Pay more and get less.... I'm not exactly jumping for joy.

i am sorry that the people staying off prop and fla residents don't like the fp+ system. you must remember to look at the money. :confused3 disney does not make any money from the off prop. resorts or time shares but they do make money from the disney resorts and dvc owners. these people financially support disney. i do realize that florida residents would like a free ride also, but they get a really big discount on park passes and aps. ;) try to remember that disney must have money to continue all the good things.

we have been coming to disney 2 to 4 times a yr and spending a lot of money to stay on prop, plus the food on prop and park passes. in the last 3 or 4 yrs. we were lucky to get on 1 or 2 rides each a day because the lines were so long. we do enjoy the beauty of all the things we see and shopping in the world, but we want a ride or two once in a while. pixiedust: for the first time in many yrs we were able to enjoy a few rides as well as a the sites.

How could you only get 1 or 2 rides each day? Unless you were arriving at 7 pm, or only go on national holidays, you must be positively clueless on where the ride entrances are. Even arriving at 2, there are FPs available, and you can get one every 2 hours. Not to mention the last hour of the day is usually a ride feast.

Anyone who wasn't even trying could get 6 passes a day if you arrived close to park open. The park is almost always open 12 hours, divide by 2 hours.... If you get there at RD, you can get 3 in the first 2 hours alone.

If you show up in the afternoon, you SHOULD get very few FPs. And even with FP+, if you show up late! you get 3, and really shouldn't get anymore. I know some people are more than happy paying over $20 per ride (best case with a 7 day ticket), but not me. I absolutely will NOT pay $60 for my family to ride Big Thunder. That's positively insane.

yes but Disney guests that are offsite actually tend to spend more in the parks so they do need both whether you or Disney likes it or not. Disney has plenty of money and by far are no where near struggling to survive. And I don't understand how you were only able to get on one or two rides did you only go to the parks for two hours? I went for a week in July in 2012 and I did everything I wanted to do no problem.

A few years ago in the Disney annual report Disney claimed that a resort guest spent considerably more than an offsite guest in food and gifts. Which is why there is a huge push to to bring more guests on site.

well annually yes but those who are taking that once in a lifetime vacation or once every five or more years are going to spend more than those who spend a week or more every year in Disney.

I'm still thinking that at some point, even offsite guests will be able to use the app for their Fastpass Plus bookings and maintenance.

A petition isn't going to work. They spent over a billion dollars on this system. they aren't going back to the way things were. Write directly to Disney and tell them what you don't like about it; they may change the system some but no way they will go back to the old one.

I really don't get the back and forth between onsite and offsite. Disney needs to maximize BOTH groups to be successful. They could wring every dollar possible out of a fully booked resort and still not make it without the offsite group. If resort are generally at around 80% occupancy, and offsite guests are around half of the park attendance each day it just won't add up.

For that reason, I still feels strongly that what is happening now is just a short stop along the way. I do, however, feel for those who happen to have their once in a lifetime trip scheduled offsite right now.

it's been discussed multiple times on the podcast I don't have any links to actual number at this time.

On the DIs podcasts? They've said that offsite guests spend more money in the parks than onsite guests who are in the bubble?

The numbers I've heard are more 90% occupancy. Not that it changes your point ;)

I'm 100% sure Disney wants everyone use MDE. Yes the problem now is just a transient one. Self service customer support is awesome for the bottom line.

To be honest here I really expected what we are seeing now to happen in August last year. Disney only has a few windows were they can make this kind of change. Between New Years and beginning spring break; between end of spring break and beginning of summer; between end of summer and Halloween.

yes the dis podcasts. They haven't said it's necessarily off site guests but the repeat guests are likely to spend less than those who are only coming once or every five or more years. Most people here on the disboards have been many times and a lot go at least once a year or more. Those that don't research or do a lot of planning us usually end up paying more.

I was confused about the offsite part. Is there an assumption that people who are going once or every five years or so are primarily staying offsite?

yes and no because there are plenty of people who stay off site that come to Disney all the time and there are plenty that only go once.

Ugh!!! So dreading my next trip in April. I should not feel this way for something that used to bring feelings of excitement and happiness. As. DVC member, I'm questioning if I should sell or keep my DVC and just use it as "home" base to visit other areas. There is a lot to see in the Orlando area and we always have our own car.

I wonder how many DVC'rs will sell or fill WDW resorts with guests going elsewhere?

Another member here feeling just like you. We will hold our membership for a little while to see if Disney comes to their senses. If not, our family has unanimously voted to sell or like you said, use it as a resting place and visit other areas!
