My partner and I used to enjoy this restaurant, but now it seems to have been turned into a princess and character dining spot. Will this be permanent? I hope not. We used to enjoy lunch there, but haven't been back since they turned it into a kid's place.

Its going to be permanent OK. We too used to love the place. The fish and salads are yum! We have an ADR for August but are thinking twice about going as the kids just arent 'princessy' at all. We love character meals but for us this was an oasis of calm in Epcot. It isnt any more so we arent sure whether to go back or not.

I had never gone to this restaurant until it was a princess venue, but we really liked it. I did not find the kids or the princess interaction distracting at all (but maybe thats because I have three kids). The food was good and very different. ONe of the worst things was waiting to be seated. You stand outside the door with many, many others and wait to be called. People got a bit upset when they thought other families were going in before them and there were a lot of people that tried to get a table without reservations that were turned away. Once inside though we did relax and enjoy ourselves.

We have kids that love the princesses, but we also really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I went for the first time in January and with my parents, Dh, DD4 and DS2. When we are in Epcot we like to try different foods and I feel like we had a great opportunity to sample a wide variety of Norwegian foods with the cold bar and sample desserts. We all really enjoyed our entrees as well and the frozen drinks were great, too. We chose the restaurant because of the princesses, but in the end we really loved the food as well.

1) Akersus was not as big a success as other Epcot restaurants.
2) The princess meals are VERY popular and usually sold out.
3) Don't look for the princess meals to stop.
4) Norway-style dining is fine, but bucks make the difference.

Which Princesses are usually at the Breakfast? We are eating here in Sept. and are hoping to see Mulan since she is the only Princess my girls don't have their picture with.

Akershus has gone from my favorite Epcot restaurant to down near the bottom of the heap. Two reasons.

1. They have cut the buffet by more than half. Only one type of smoked salmon and only two types of herring, as an example. Most of the better salads are missing, and not as much variety in the cheeses.

2. Princesses!
