Hi,

Is the list of Fast Passes on DIS pretty accurate? Just wondering why Maelstrom (spelling?) in Norway would ever be a FastPass?:confused3

Is there a 2008 list available anywhere? Is it on disney's web page? If it is I couldn't find it!

Thanks so much:goodvibes

Maybe b/c it is a LOOOOOONG wait in line. In '06 I queued up when the sign said 15 minutes. Didn't get to sit on the boat until a half hour later. I would have skipped it had I known the wait would be so tedious.

Can't tell you where a complete list is from Disney, but I can confirm that yes, Maelstrom is a fast pass attraction. With so few attractions that are "rides" in World Showcase, the few that are develop long lines.

Without FP you'll stand in line for hours to get on that viking ship/? It's quite a thrill!

Yes, and we have actually used it! Sometimes the lines there get pretty long, especially during crowded/peak times.

When it first came out, it was extremely popular and the lines went on and on forever. They don't seem as bad these last couple of trips, but they can still be long.

Keep an eye on the time boards, though, because when we were there last August 2x we literally walked on, and 4x the standard line time was over 70 minutes!! :scared1: So keep those fastpass options open. And as an aside, ride the ride, its fun, but run - don't walk - away from the movie at the end. B-O-R-I-N-G.

This ride is a "must do" for my family, sometimes up to 3 times a vacation! My grandmother was from Norway so that got us interested in the first place. Now we just like it cause it's fun.
We've also seen the movie a few times too. One person's boring is another person's interesting. My son is 19 and he likes to see the movie once in while too. We've seen all the movies, we mostly like them. My fav is in China. Canada's new movie is a close 2nd!

I think the movie's pretty good, though a little dated. We do skip it now just because we've seen it so many times.

But the first couple of times, I enjoyed it.

Fastpasses are great when the line for Maelstrom are out the door and into the courtyard, as it has been several times when I have seen it. If you only go during non-peak or holiday times, the line isn't that long.

Maelstrom is a classic dark ride in my mind, melding fact and some of their nation's myths. Its up there with peter pan and roger rabbit for me (its a travesty WDW doesn't have this). I think they did a great job teaching a bit about norway and keeping the ride kind of spooky and neat at the same time. I definatly enjoy this more than the other dark ride at Epcot, Nemo.

I like the Norway movie, too.

My DS2 may not sit through it this time, though, so I may have to skip it.

Oooops!!! Methinks me accidentally started something...sorry!!:goodvibes I personally have sat through the movie 1 2 many times therefore beating the hasty retreat!!:lmao: By all means try it, you may end up liking it but then again, like me, you just... may....RUN AWAY!!!:rotfl:

the line actually does get pretty beastly for the Maelstrom. It's nice and cold in there though, so it's good for a typical Florida day.
It's about the only ride in the World Showcase, so that's a reason also. :upsidedow

I agree, the movie is a little dated; but we still like to watch it. I really wish they'd do a new one soon. My pop would be happy too.! :)

On the fast pass question, (forgot to answer that before) we probably need to get one about 75% of the time. Our family rule is, if the wait time says 30 minutes or more; we get the pass.

I think thats an accurate list of Fast pass attractions in WDW:

Magic Kingdom:
Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Peter Pan's Flight, Big Thunder Mountain, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Stitch's Great Escape

Epcot:
Test Track, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience,Living With The Land, Maelstrom, Mission Space, Soarin'

Disney Hollywood Studios:
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Star Tours, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular

Disney's Animal Kingdom:
Dinosaur, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Tough to be a Bug, Primeval Whirl, Expedition Everest
