Lynn, I don't know if you are interested but here are the pics I took of the Renaissance in Barcelona. I took pics of all our hotels with the intention of posting them on trip advisor but never got around to it. And now I am figuring out how to do the whole Photobucket thing so here they are.

It was the key in the wall thing that I couldn't figure out. I was a dummy. Had to call the front desk and ask them why my tv didn't work. Learned that I had to put my room key into the place on the wall to activate that and the lights in the room! Those Europeans.......

We only had to wait about 30 minutes for our room. We took the shuttle downtown for the 2 extra days that we stayed at the Renaissance.

I'm feeling pretty good. Thanks so much for asking! I did finally decide to go on hormone replacement therapy. I was trying to go without. But I found myself crying because I didn't have saltine crackers for my soup the other day and the night sweats are getting tiresome. I hope it helps! I go back to work half days on Thursday. I've been walking on my treadmill and doing light exercises with no problems. The doctor says I can resume pretty much anything I want to in a couple more weeks.

Sounds good, Eva! I am pleased you're getting back on track - hope the HRT does the trick. All I know is my best friend swears by it so fingers crossed for you...

The Killers are an American rock band from Las Vegas - and they are amazing...

I am so totally jealous!!!!! I bet they were awesome. The closest I'll probably ever get to seeing them is on SNL. No good groups ever come to Huntsville, you always have to go to either B'ham, Nashville or Atlanta.

They were excellent - we had a wonderful time...

Wanted to give you updates from my planning (62 days & counting) & wanted to let you know to PM me if you have specific things you'd like me to find out for you.

I met some people on another site & have teamed up w/ them for the tours of Berlin & St Petersburg.

We're going w/ spb tours (Viktoria) - I'll definately give you guys a review when I get back but let me know if you want any specifics on this.

Dad & I are doing the Hop On Hop Off bus in Copenhagen (the Mermaid tour) as it has been recommended for what we want to do/see - Tivoli, Little Mermaid, Hans Christian Anderson statue, Changing of the guards). There is a stop right there at the Little Mermaid so that'll be an easy walk back to the ship.

Still working on the other cities - I know I'm not doing Oslo but am doing both Helsinki & Tallin.

We stayed at the Renaissance in May after getting of the EB TA Crossing. I agree, the hotel was overwhelmed! Our shower drove me nuts, HOT, HOT, HOT, cold, cold, cold.......

My parents are european and I've lived in Europe but the shower had me perplexed as well! We couldn't figure out why the shower head was in the middle but the glass only went half-way. It was quite the juggling act to keep the bathroom dry.

I would have never figured that one out. Thank God for the Disboards because that's where I learned it.

So time once again for my day-dream escapes....this time to Germany. From an email to my wife....

I wake up and hear 3 quiet, unique snores. I lay still and take in the moment. I love this. I absolutely love this. I have my wife beside me and my two kids. I lay as still as I can and try to sense if we are moving or docked. I cannot tell. I assume we are docked. I quietly get up and ease out to the verandah. I'm in my undershorts and it's cool but not cold. I take in the port. Wow! Always cool to look around the ports to see what other ships are there. Sometimes there are other cruise ships and sometimes commercial shipping vessels. I watch and listen to the ground crew on the dock tie off the bow and stern lines. I look at the buses for the shore excursions getting in line for the flood of tourist that will soon be getting off the ship. Today we have our own adventure planned. We're going to walk to the train station and take the train from the port town of Warnemünde to Berlin. I come back in and when I do, the light wakes you up. I put on my shorts and tee shirt, grab my camera and room card and whisper that I'm heading up to get some coffee. You sleepily kiss me and say "OK, I've got to pee." I head up to Deck 9 and get a cup of coffee and take a few pictures. When I get back to the room you are drying your hair and Jamie is in bed laughing. Nick is grumbling and telling her to be quiet. He stayed up in the Stack too late again last night and is grouchy. We all take our showers and head up to Parrot Cay for breakfast. I've been eating like a pig at the evening meals so I use breakfast to take in as much fruit as I can to keep my system going. After breakfast we head back to the room, brush our teeth and make sure we have our cameras and such for the day. We leave the ship by 8 am and walk to the train depot. Our train isn't scheduled to leave till 0830 so we have plenty of time. We get on the train and enjoy the scenery of the German countryside as we head into Berlin. You have our Frommer's Germany book that is colorfully tabbed with all the city's gems. We visit the "Wall" that once separated East and West Germany and we talk to the kids about the significance of the Wall. We tour Nazi war museums and such. We have lunch at a cool German restaurant and we shop for souvenirs....something uniquely German. That evening we catch the train back to Warnemünde and get back on the Magic with just enough time to shower and change for a relaxing dinner. We talk about what we did and what the coolest thing we and we discuss the sacrifices made defeating the Germans in WWII. We debate going to the Broadway show or everyone doing their own thing. There is an art auction that I'd like to go to since the show is one we've seen - The Golden Mickey's. Nick has some activity in the Stack. You and Jamie go buy some perfume. It was another great day!

I survived my first day of training for the Census job, and the 65 mile drive to CO then back, but I get paid for the travel time! We got done early today, so I got home in time to walk dogs before dark. I was going to get up early and walk, but the wind was blowing 30-40mph, so I slept another 45 min instead! I also got in about 2 miles at lunch time. I also do not have to go back tomorrow, today we did mostly paperwork, next week starts the actual training.

The info on the hotels looks great - keep the info coming!
