Just ordered a simm card for my phone from National Geo, will see how it works.

I found out today that we don't have any anything (plans, tickets or reservations) on how we are getting from the ship to London. Not sure whether to do Disney transfers (is there such a thing) or train or whatever. The hotel we are staying at is not one of the Disney hotels so not sure if we could even get a transfer. How is anyone who is staying in London after the cruise getting there?

We have rental cars booked for before and after the cruise with drop off at the port before the cruise and pick-up at the port after the cruise.

I only get on here once a week, so I may be a bit late with some of my comments.

Just finished my taxes .... Getting a refund!! This will help with the expenses!

We are also thinking of doing Stockholm on our own. My DH isn't sure he wants to do that; he's worried about the language barrier, converting money, transportation, etc. I am trying to convince him that it will be like the Amazing Race for a day.

I have found that folks Scandanavian countries speak English - it is not much of a problem to communicate (unless you really get off the beaten track).

I can't decide which t-shirt I want/need Well I want them all now I hafta figure out which one I really need Has anyone gotten anything from them before? Do the sizes run small or are they pretty accurate?

I have found the mens or unisex sizes run fairly true to size, but the ladies stuff is small (I think it is really teen sizing on the ladies fashions).

We will be doing most of the ports on our own - just have a tour for St Petersburg. I really liked the idea of having a bit of local currency and I think I have convinced Scott that it was a good idea. We will often stop for a snack at a local street vender or small cafe, and I think we would do better with a bit of local currency for that.

I figure I'll bring $100 Canadian of each currency for each port. Any expenses over that will be put on the credit card. I also figure I'll exchange my money back to US before getting back on the boat.

Neither are we. Been there, done that with the tux rental and dressing to the nines. For us it's all about comfort and traveling light. We'll be appropriate but very simple. That said, we still enjoy watching everyone else get all gussied up.

What happens if you don't dress up on formal night? Can you still go to your regular dinning room? I think we missed the formal night on our last cruise and then we did get all dressed up on the cruises before that. The main reason we were going to get all dressed up was so that we would still be welcome in our dinning room and could enjoy dinner with our table. I would be much more comfortable without the fancy dress, heels and pantyhose

We wore capris on the PC cruise to the dining room. Nobody said anything to us. My dh had to leave the cruise early and took our formal wear home with him!

I the 5 DCL cruises we have been on they have never stopped anyone on formal or semi-formal night as long as they met the normal requirements for dining e.g. no shorts etc. so you should be fine. My dh got a tux 6 years ago for our niece's wedding so he likes bringing it on the cruise. I just wear black dress slacks with a fancy top vey comfortable.

I never thought about that ...Will have to check with them in the morning.. I know I can't order Rubles, but was going to check with the Foreign Exchange shop at one of the local banks for that.

My DH just told us that he got us tickets to watch the 3rd round at Wimbledon on June 25th We are all big tennis fans and that will be a great way to end our trip. Plus it gives us something to look forward to after the post cruise letdown when you disembark the ship for the final time.

That is awesome. My DH would love to go to Wimbledon. It seemed very complicated to me to try and get tickets...so he will just have to watch on TV. I am spending the day on Cruise Critic trying to figure out the must sees in each port and how to go about seeing them. We are planning DIY in all of the ports except St. Petersburg and Berlin. My head is spinning...where is the travel fairy when you need her.

The ticket purchasing process for Wimbledon seemed complicated to me to; so I put DH in charge of that part of the trip. I'm working on everything else: flights, hotels, excursions, Palo, etc. I'm glad he came through with his part of the trip planning details. Plus he is a much bigger tennis fan than I am; I think DD age 10, and I will be spending part of that day sampling "strawberries and cream" and tea at various Wimbledon venues.
We are DIY in Stockholm (but have a DCL excursion booked as a back up for now), and doing DCL for the other ports, except St. Petersburg where we are using a guide recomended by our TA.

I concur totally. What you need to realize is that the number 1 reason DCL always has a dress-up night is so they can sell lots and lots of those formal portraits! Other than that really don't care what you wear as long as it meets the minimum dining room requirements. Black slacks and a few dressy tops are the full extent of my formal wardrobe. High heels are a thing of the past for me.....and I'm not even sure if I still own a pair of panty hose! Go with what you're comfortable wearing and are are willing to haul in your luggage. I can't speak for other cruise lines, but no one on the Magic will make you feel like you're out of place.

For formal nights I will wear a short black dress, DD will wear a dressy summer or spring kids dress and DH will wear a sports coat, shirt with collar and black jeans. He's worn this outfit on Holland America, RCL, Norweign and Disney and has never been questioned or felt out of place.

We are in the same group of "casual dressy". Black pants go a long way!
DH has a suit that he usually brings and the next time he's in a tux will be one of the kids weddings. DS will have a nice shirt and pants but DD will wear a dress.
My friend and I wear talking about FEs gifties and I was telling her that I needed to get them "there" and her response was " not at the sake of bringing another pair of shoes!" me, I worry more about the FEs and the heck with shoes!
There was only one time that I felt underdressed on formal night and that was 2005 out of Los Angeles, but had it been the Carribean it would have been fine.

I have a little difference "dressy" question. We are doing the Russian Ballet the first evening. How dressy do you think people will be? Nice dress slacks? Jacket for the guys? I have never been to a ballet plus being in a different country. I'm debating my dress black pants vs a dress. Plus my sons (who are in their early 20's) will be questioning me.
