Thought people might be interested in non-ebci, 24 hour prior boarding passes on Easter Sunday.

I checked in on Saturday, right at 24 hours prior to our flight from the computer at EPCOT customer relations. They have a little room with a computer, printer, couch and chair. We got B17-20. Our flight was completely sold out.

There was a long line of family boarders that got on before us. When we got on there was a bunch of single seats so we headed to the back. The last 3 rows of seats were the only ones empty. We sat 2 in front of 2.

The plane was actually overbooked by 4 people and a family of 4 didn't have boarding passes. They were offering to fly people to Ft Lauderdale for the night and then home the next day from there. Someone must have taken them up on the offer because the family got on and then they spent about 20 minutes trying to get 3 seats together so the mom could sit with the two kids (about 6 yo and child in a car seat). It was very frustrating to have everyone boarded and then have to listen to repeated announcements for people to offer to move their seats so the family could sit together. I understand why they needed to but we really just wanted to get going and get home.

The flight itself was great and we got home on time.

Thanks for the update. I can't believe you got boarding passes that low at the 24 hour mark. We might start considering using EBCI more often when we fly SW if that is how it is going to be, or we'll just fly an airline where you can buy your seats.

I think we ended up at the very back of the plane because of all the families flying home on Easter. The family with young children line was VERY long. Not many people boarded after us so I'm assuming that a lot of the families had C passes so they boarded during family boarding.

We were talking to a mother with a family of 5 before the flight and they had C passes. She didn't know about family boarding and had a 5 yo so I told her about family boarding. I told DH I hoped I hadn't made it so we couldn't sit together :)

We only need to sit each child with a parent so we weren't worried. We had A30 and B1, 2, and 3 on the way down. We sat 2 and 2 right by the wing then. There weren't nearly as many people using family boarding on that flight.

BTW- this was MCO to BDL (Hartford, CT).
