Non-DVC Resort preference

I expect most DVCers don't often make it to non-DVC resorts, but are there some that you still enjoy so much that you make a point of getting to them? Which ones?

If we can get free dining, we go to a non-DVC. Deluxe is Poly and Moderate is Port Orleans.

If we were to go non-DVC, we would choose the old DL-AB now PO-RS. We always enjoyed our pre-DVC stays at that resort and that was the resort we were staying at when we took the DVC tour.

It depends really on the trip on which hotel we stay at.

Last summer, I was able to get a great Friends & Family Rate at POFQ which was lovely. In December, I stayed at a wedding room block at Caribbean Beach. I stayed at Pop Century for Princess Half Marathon Weekend as I registered through a Travel Agent as it was the only hotel left in their package at that time. In November, we are using the Wine & Dine Half Marathon RunDisney rate for Beach Club as knowing we are in walking distance after the after party was worth it.

The one that we really repeat is the Swan/Dolphin as their rates are the most reasonable but still have the extras I've grown to enjoy at hotels.

Generally speaking if I'm not at DVC it's a solo trip so I'll just stay at a Value. Pop is my favorite but I'll go with any of the All-Stars for cheap trips.

We would stay in Pop(DH), or the FW cabins(my choice)!

We love our DVC rooms, but I still occasionally miss POFQ. If I needed to add on an extra day before or after a stay, or ran out of points and had to pay cash, that's where I'd look first.

Before DVC, I used to stay at POR, and a few times, we've stayed there for a night before transferring to DVC. And we still drive over to their food court to eat sometimes.

Will only do DVC just because we have the points and have plenty so there is no need to do Non-DVC.

I've stayed at Pop a few times and really liked it. If I am out of points, I prefer to stay on the cheap and Pop fits the bill. I won't put our family of 4 in one room anymore, but if it's just me and a friend, Pop is great!

I just stayed at POFQ for the first time last month visiting my daughter. Got a great discount as she is working at Disney right now. I LOVED it there! I would stay again if we were low on points. Loved the atmosphere and feel of the resort. Also loved the boat ride to DTD!
