Non-carousel pics during MK bridal shoot

Thanks for the info - we definitely want train station pics, since that's where he proposed during Wishes! So, we will request these instead of the carousel. I am so excited to hear this is a possibility!

LuluLovesDisney, that must have been fun to have been proposed to during Wishes. Congratulations!

Please run any particular photo requests by either the FTW folks or the Disney photography folks (preferably, in advance). Hopefully, they'll be able to honor your requests and you'll have some wonderful photos to share with everyone here on the Weddings & Honeymoons Board after your event.

Again, congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

Thanks for linking those HM shots Janet.

It's neat to see the contrast in the sky coloring from photo to photo.
All three look great, the first one gives the Mansion a scary feel with the sky so dark.

I guess it's not so bad you aren't right on top of the Mansion itself.
The buggy in the backround is a rather nice touch. I pondered asking if we could get a mausoleum or cemetary shot, but with the lighting it probably isn't a possibility.
Plus I'm sure the rest of our families would wonder out loud why on earth we had cemetary shots in our wedding photos :rotfl:

Horror movies brought us together, guess we're just a little different.:cutie:

My DH really wanted one in front of Splash Mountain, kind of as a joke, but kind of serious, so the day of our wedding, I made a joke about it to the photographer and he said no problem. When we were driving out of MK, he had us hop out and take the pictures. Not the greatest background for a wedding shot (my mother was like, what were you thinking with this one?) but it amuses us. Be prepared though for no main street photos due to the amount of work going on. We wanted them but the street was extremely busy so there was just no way.

The only other one I would have wanted would be the last scene out of POTC but I figure that's just out of the question :rotfl2:

Okay, StitchBride, how dare you pop in here and tell us about your unique photo and not share it. We want a link, please!

You had the perfect photo taken if you & your significant other smile every time you view it. That's the way it's supposed to be. ;)

Congratulations on your marriage!

TinkerFairy, you can now understand why it is so important to hold absolutely still for your photographer, especially when he/she is trying to incorporate something that is unlit -- such as the Haunted Mansion -- into the photograph. We only took three photos in that venue, and thankfully all three of them turned out okay. But it was hard to hold still while the bugs were feasting on our flesh.

I pondered asking if we could get a mausoleum or cemetary shot, but with the lighting it probably isn't a possibility.

Ask them. I bet something could be worked out with the camera's flash. But you'll never know unless you ask.

The reason a flash couldn't be used in my Haunted Mansion photos was because the mansion was simply too far away -- completely out of range of the camera's flash. Because of that, the photographer had to put the camera on a tripod and leave the shutter open until enough light could gather together inside the camera and form an image. I honestly wish I could remember how long that took, but I can't. I only remember the photographer counting out loud and telling us to hold still until he gave the word for us to move again.

By the way, the photographer had done the same thing in front of Cinderella Castle. However, since the castle is lit up somewhat, the camera's shutter didn't need to be left open for very long. But before our photographer depressed the shutter button, he told us to hold still until he gave the word for us to move again. For the most part, we did as we were told, but we still wound up with a couple of photos that were slightly blurred due to either my husband or myself moving when we weren't supposed to be. Shame on us.

I don't think you're very different at all. My husband fell in love with me at a Halloween party. He was dressed as a genie -- curly-toed shoes and all. Everyone's fairy tale begins a little differently, but they all end up in the same place: "Happily ever after." ;)

It all depends on the DPS photographer that you get. We were told that they wouldn't do the HM, but we really wanted the Mad Tea Party instead of the carousel, which we got.

The area next to the castle is Belle's Storybook Garden; we did some photos there, too, in addition to all of the usual castle photos.

There are several factors at play: where the workers are and how busy they are, the light, and if there are other couples who are getting photos as well.

Wait - there might be other couples having their MK shoots at the same time?

I was under the impression that they only schedule one (or two if they do 5am and 6am) per day....

Ask in advance, but Disney will not guarantee anything except what the "normal" shoot includes. Alot of the pictures that you see that have alternate locations may have been done last year when the crane was up making changes to the castle for the Year of A Million Dreams. So Disney at that time offered additional locations. Just remember that nothing is guaranteed. Be prepared to see lots of maintenance cast members. We had some that even made it into our pictures!

As for how many couples per day that could be taking pictures...
Usually there are only two sessions a 5 and 6 am session. Sometimes if there were rainout on previous days or inclimate weather Disney will reschedule time for couples that could not have their session at their scheduled time. The time of day for that will depend. You should never see another bride. For ours, we were running late and we thought we would see the next couple, but it turns out that they overslept.

Sorry....how silly of me! :rotfl2:

This is my favorite, but there are only two (the other one is us looking at the camera)

As for multiple couples being there, we were the first in at 5 am but there were other people shooting after us but we couldn't see them, we were constantly walking around. I think even if there are more than 2 there are so many places that they are shooting it shouldn't be a problem

Druidia, if you have a link to your Mad Tea Party ride photo, I would love to see it. Please post the link here (or PM me with it). I have seen a few of those photos & wished I had asked for one myself. One of my favorite Disneyland photos was taken on that ride with my mother & my son. It's such a colorful ride. I bet your tea party photo is gorgeous.

StitchBride, thank you for sharing your photo. I love it! I don't think I've ever seen one in front of Splash Mountain before. How precious!

I love the picture! I think any location around the MK in your wedding gown is unbelievable... it's not everyday that you get to walk around the MK in your wedding dress!! :goodvibes
