Non-AP Ticket Holders and New Park Reservations System-INFO POST #76

weather is better in February
Decorations are up in November
Virus could be better or worse so thats a toss up, but maybe more info on the virus in February
Thanks. I’m leaning towards February because of cooler weather and hopefully by then park hopping will continue again. Always dreamed of seeing decorations though for holidays. Thanks though... I’ll keep pondering. Now that I’m thinking about it, maybe values/mods will reopen by February too. Shout-out to these boards though! I wouldn’t have known a LOT of info if it weren’t for frequenting the disboards. Monday will be a busy day!

Welp, @disneydreamer781 and @02AggieGirl we are screwed. There are no ticket sales even if you have an existing reservation. This is extremely disappointing to me. I have been a DVC member for 23 years and this really upsets me.

Honest question . . . where are you seeing that we can't get tickets? Wouldn't we be able to buy tickets starting June 26th, since we have a room only reservation (through our DVC points)?

Has anyone staying at one of the Official Disney Springs Hotels (DoubleTree, Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Plaza, etc... the ones that qualified for EMH and FP+ pre-pandemic) gotten an email today with this information? There's been no official word that Disney Springs families are going to be able to make park reservations at the same time as Disney Resort families, but knowing that some of you have gotten this email would at least be something!

please remember this is not Disney trying to ruin your trip. They are basically loosing millions of dollars by not selling tickets and booking rooms. This is their way to be able to reopen controlling the crowds, it is what needs to happen now.

Has anyone answered the question about a party in which one person has an AP but the rest of the party doesn’t have tickets at all yet?
Please let me know if you find it I spoke to a CM today. He said it was the 'hot topic' at yesterday's meeting and there should be an answer 'within a few hours'. "Part of the problem are the people who will claim family and friend in Orlando that need to be added to the reservation" - direct quote. I say freeze the reservations where they are now. Nobody gets added to the reservation - you can get tickets for those that were on the reservation - that's it.

I bet they find tickets for the NBA...

I'm super surprised that Disney is having ALL of these folks (within a given category) get online and reserve park days at the same time! From now through September 2021? Seems like they would have the July/August people book, then a month later the September/October people, or whatever, so it's not so taxing on the system and to give them time to work out the kinks if there are problems... but I guess we'll just roll with it!

Why June 26th? Am I missing something? On June 24th you can change your room only stay for 2021 reservations. FWIW, I just got off the phone with Member Services and they didn't mention when I could but tickets,

Right, but we should have already been "counted" as we have a already have a resort reservation.

Unbelievable! When is your trip? I'm a DVC member also and our trip is planned for December.
My trip is in October.

I guess but if I had tickets on my reservation already they would have no problem letting me reserve parks starting Monday, so I'll have to disagree with you.

Modifications, Cancellations and Refunds

We understand how much excitement, thought and time goes into planning your visits to Walt Disney World Resort and realize some of these changes may be disappointing. Please know we will be here to help you, as our Cast remains focused on delivering magical experiences and incredible storytelling for everyone who visits.
During this unprecedented period, some of our policies and offerings have been modified:
Tickets
Partially used multi-day theme park tickets with a usage window impacted by park closure, or date-specific theme park tickets purchased through June 6, 2020 with a valid use period beginning March 12, 2020 or later, will automatically be extended to use any date through September 26, 2021. If you are unable to visit by September 26, 2021, you may apply the value of a wholly unused ticket toward the purchase of a ticket for a future date.
Florida Resident Discover Disney Tickets may be used through September 30, 2020.
At this time, Guests will only be able to visit one park per day. If you have a ticket that includes the Park Hopper Option or Park Hopper Plus Option, we have several options available to you:
  • Ticket Extension: You may use your current date-based ticket by September 26, 2021 with the existing add-on options, should the options return by that date.
  • Ticket Modification: Resort Packages with tickets may be modified or cancelled. To discuss your options, please call the Disney Reservation Center at (407) W-DISNEY or (407) 934-7639 beginning June 22, or contact your travel professional.
  • Ticket Cancellation: If you do not want to use your ticket, you also have the option of cancelling your ticket or package. To discuss your options, please call the Disney Reservation Center at (407) 566-4985 beginning June 22, or contact your travel professional.

Unfortunately that really doesn't help. We have PH tickets and DVC Reservation but not a "resort package with tickets", so still dont know if we can make park reservations and then modify the ticket to single park tickets or not

Right, but we should have already been "counted" as we have a already have a resort reservation.
Disney was clear about that on the May 27th update that resort reservations would not guarantee you entry into a park and that you needed to have a valid ticket
Not defending them in anyway, but they did put that on their website

I guess but if I had tickets on my reservation already they would have no problem letting me reserve parks starting Monday, so I'll have to disagree with you.
you're disagreeing with me that Disney is trying to control capacity and losing money in the process?
