For you infrequent (or frequent) flyers...

I used to have two noise cancelling headsets. They weren't the best and had on/off switches (so by the letter of the "rules" had to be off for takeoff and landings. They wore out and I don't fly enough to justify spending money on new ones.

But for my flight two days ago, I tried something. I used my Husqvarna (sp?) earprotectors I use when mowing. They worked GREAT!

I even put some earbuds in to listen to my laptop then put the earprotectors on. No problems hearing my show. It was wonderful. They even greatly cut down the screaming baby on the flight.

So, if you use ear protectors when doing yardwork, try them on your next flight.

ETA: Here's the amazon link to the ones I used... $20. http://www.amazon.com/Husqvarna-531300089-Professional-Headband-Protectors/dp/B002PNUWWG
