One of my closest friends lost her boyfriend in a car accident this week...they're both 21 and she's absolutely devastated so any prayers for her would be appreciated. I feel awful and it's hard to know what to say, so I am just trying to be there for her and listen as much as I can.

I took the kids to one today too. They loved it!! We built Dusty from Planes (well actually I ended up building all 3 of them!!) We're already signed up for the next one in a couple weeks where we'll be building El Chupacabra.

We took Kaity to a Build and Grow Clinic at Lowe's today--it was our first time doing it and she had so much fun!

I've been reading along and I just wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to Rachel and to your whole family! You definitely have a lot on your plate but your kids are definitely lucky to have a mom like you who cares so much about them.

Praying for Rachel. My David had two concussions within a year of each other and the recovery was never fully complete after the second one. He still has some short term memory issues. I'm praying that the Lord gives Rachel some peace while she struggles through the recovery process. It's not easy to "rest" as a teenager and I'm sure it's so frustrating to her. My David really struggled with the whole "resting" idea as well. (((HUGS)))for Rachel and for you too Judy.

Oh and I meant to tell you that David's sinus surgery went very well. He can actually breathe through his nose!! We had a slight issue with the post op nurse who did a horrible job with pain management. When the child's blood pressure is through the roof and he's crying because of the pain, clearly the pain isn't being well controlled. Ticked me off to no end. I warned the nurses in pre-op that David has a high pain threshold(he's had necrotizing fasciitis, broken and necrotic bones, blood poisoning and all sorts of injuries with knowing it) and still when he said his head hurt they didn't take it seriously. They got a lovely note from me when I filled out the survey for the Surgical Center. Don't mess with a momma bear! Roar! LOL!

Thank you Erika and Thank you for sharing more about David! I am so sorry for al he has been through and I know that hurts your heart. YOur post was a main factor for me to seek out a concussion clinic early on. Were his sports related? The main problem she is having is REMEMBERING what she isn't supposed to do! THAT is scary! Thank God for Lisa, she has been entertaining her non-stop.

I was JUST thinking about David and his surgery yesterday morning and wondering if he had it yet!~ Thank you for sharing and for being such a great advocate for him! God Bless your David he has been through so much! I think you all know I have a huge respect and love for the medical profession (after all I am a nurse and they have saved Lisa's, David's and Rachel's life with a little help from me). But I get really angry.upset when they make mistakes and/or treat patients badly. So Thankful David has you to speak up and look after him!

The DIS shut down on me this morning for an HOUR. I never did get back on and lost the responses I had answered. My computer is moving slow tonight, so I am not going to get a lot done. We had a relatively quiet day. Pete's movie day was a bit different and the guys enjoyed it very much. Rachel and I took naps and Lisa left, not her cup of tea either. Just as well, Rachel needed to limit her screen time and it wasn't hard. Rachel is not improving...at all. Gail and I were talking today and I hope she is right, it might improve rapidly once it starts. Lisa is doing well, off of the antibiotics for a week, so far so good! David is a bit tired, he and Lisa both have hematology appts tomorrow, so hopefully that will show if everything is okay. Christian had a great time with his friends, also reconnected with one he hasn't seen in two years. Pete is having some BP issues, prayers for that would be appreciated! Me? I am doing great. Bandit is also well, PTL. For those who don't know, he is also a miracle dog, and had his own mysterious illness last year. No doubt, we are blessed!

As I was talking to Gail I sat down. As I was sitting there I looked up on top of my cabinets. We have mugs (Pete collects them) and some Disney glasses my Mom gave me up there. I noticed the glasses were turned every which way and clearly had been moved, yet they are only reachable by standing on a chair...then it hit me. When Rachel fell, the impact was so incredibly hard it had to jar them all around, even one of the mugs had tipped over. No wonder my darling is still not well!

Hoping that today was uneventful and restful for everyone. Hugs and prayers across the miles!

Not too bad, had lots to catch up on and had to go to the pharmacy to clear up the incorrect medication dosage...at least it is taken care of. I hope YOU had a fabulous weekend.

Smiling pics of cutie pies always makes me happy! You know me so well. Pete used to take the children, they had a great time. It always falls during 4H now, so he hasn't taken Lisa in awhile.
I hope the healing starts soon and it is quick, not slow. I keep thinking baby steps, but it isn't happening yet. That was why I was hoping a concentrated prayer effort might spur things along.

Hi Madeline, concussions are strange things, there isn't a lot know about them other than what others have done and that can vary wildly person to person. If she hasn't improved by the three week mark, they tell me there is the next phase which is post-concussive state. We return to her pediatrician on Tuesday and also have neuro and the concussion clinic set up over the next week. Rest, NO screen time other than occ MINDLESS TV for 20 to 25 mins, nothing to stimulating for her brain, she can't read or do schoolwork. Thankfully she is homeschooled and we have been working through the summer so we are ahead! Gail and I are speculating the healing could go fast once it starts, we are claiming that healing for Rachel! They keep telling me baby steps and that 3 weeks is the average time for a teen to recover. Tuesday will be 2 weeks, although it feels like 2 months!

I want to Thank you again for my beautiful early BD card and gift for our trip... you are such a sweetie!

Continuing to pray for your family, Judy, as well as all the requests mentioned here. My thought today is that God is going to show himself powerful on our behalf! Now that is good news right from the good book.

Debbie, that means so very much to me, Thank you!!! I DO believe God will heal Rachel and al of the many needs spoken forth here!

Bummer about the flat tire for Christian. Guess he got initiated full fledge, on the highway. That's how dh got initiated at age 16. But how nice that he is going to meet a friend.

So sorry Rachel is missing special events this weekend. Did this new place continue the bedrest? I can only imagine the challenge it is to keep her engaged and calm. I dread doing that for those 24 to 48 hour EEG, but this has been day in and out for you.

I hope Lisa and David are doing well.

I'm sure that even if your plans fall through, that just being in FL will be a good escape. I know staying at SSR was a great escape for us. Even though JJ never made it to a park. And our one trip out to eat, ended up with the waiter packing up dinner in carryout containers and us heading back to the resort.

After that, he stayed in the room, the patio, and out only venturing out was to make crafts at the Community Hall and roast marshmellos at the campfire. It still felt like heaven and we had a fantastic time!

Our trip up north is up in the air. At this point, if things don't change, it's cancelled. But I'm not giving up the hope that he will get well enough to travel in a month.

Christian had a great time with his friends. Yes, the flat tire wasn't fun and it brought back more than a few memories fro me.

Rachel still has bed-rest. She is not used to lying around, so this is not easy and she FORGETS what she can't do..very worrisome. We are all watching her.

I just hope we make it to Florida, there are some pretty desperate folks ready to escape for a bit.

My prayers for JJ continue and I hope you are able to take YOUR trip, I know that it is stress provoking also. I know you would like to just see things improve all around so that you can have good days without the worry of so much medical stuff!!! I hope yesterday was a peaceful day and today will be as well!

JJ's tics are worse, but his seizures have been few. I appreciate everyone's prayers. I posted an update about JJ on my TR.

Just know SO MANY are praying for your entire family! We care!

As for my phone, it is acting up again, just like my computer, That was why is was so great Gail got through to me yesterday!

We found out what was going on with Ty. He had a uti that caused him to almost pass out. He is doing much better now.

I am so thankful Ty was diagnosed and can be treated so he can feel MUCH better, UTI's are miserable.
