NOBODY IS MORE SURPRISED THAN US! GKTW alumni return! 10/21 MOVING DAY!!

Wow thanks so much for answering that and so quickly too!!!:banana::banana: That was very nice of you especially considering you have been so busy and were so exhausted tonight. I love how you support others!!! :cloud9:

I searched for the answer but all I could find was volunteer info. Although I have to admit that I loved reading the volunteer info!!! :dance3: First because I was reminded about our awesome trip and second because I'm excited to go back an volunteer one day!! :yay::woohoo: I think volunteering at the pool or ice cream parlor like your family did would be among my top choices. I also would love to drive the cart that takes people around the village or be part of the team the puts together the welcome and nightly gifts and deliver those!!! :cloud9: I wonder if they ever get caught trying to leave a surprise (say if the family comes back to the villa early)? :confused3:rotfl:

Yeah for Lisa's performance!!! :cheer2: It must have been amazing to watch!!! Hopefully Rachel will be feeling better soon and back to performing!!!

Saying prayers for good appointments, Rachel's recovery, and some peaceful moments and good rest for you!!!

Let's get these appointments done and back to the all important task of vacation planning!!! :cool1::rotfl2::goodvibes

Hugs,

Madeline

Madeline, thanks for the kind message last night after I posted, I am only sorry I couldn't respond to more! Please pray as we travel to our various destinations today (we all leave at 8 today). Special prayers please that this new MD/clinic can help us help Rachel!

Prayers and good wishes for you all to have a fabulous Thursday! :goodvibes

Judy, thinking and praying for you as you and your family start your day of appointments. I'm sure the new clinic will be able to help Rachel.

Hope that you get some information that will help today for Rachel. And that all the other appointments go well today. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them.

Prayers for John and prayers that the clinic can provide some answers for Rachel. So exciting for David to be going to orientation!!!!

Just popping in to say Hey and that we're praying for you guys. Hope that you find answers to Rachel's problems today.

Praying for Rachel today, that she will be able to get some help in her recovery at the concussion clinic. Also for David - what a big step for him. I'm praying for John and the rest of the family as you deal with this new symptom, that you would have grace and peace as you try to get the best treatment for him.

Would you all please add my sister to your prayer list? She went for her second ultrasound yesterday to measure the babies, and they could not get a heartbeat for either of them. They think she lost them shortly after the first u/s as they had not gotten any bigger. She is devastated, this is her second miscarriage this year, and she still had all her pregnancy symptoms when she went in yesterday, so it blindsided her. Her doctor wanted them to decide immediately to do a D&C today, but she asked for a little time to process everything before she decides what to do next. Her in-laws told her after her first miscarriage that it must have been something she did to cause it  (I had some choice words about that, grrrr), and she is very stressed about what they will say to her. She had her husband call them to tell them, but she said she knows she will have to see them at some point and right now, she is too upset to deal with them on top of this. I have had several miscarriages as well so I know a bit of what she is feeling, but at least I didn't have the very hurtful comments from the in-laws to deal with.

My heart is breaking for your sister. How dare her in-laws do that to her. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her husband. My prayers are with you all.:grouphug:

Thanks, Michele. My heart aches for her and I wish I lived closer so I could just give her a hug and whisk her away for a bit.

Glad to see the progress on your house - it is starting to come along, isn't it?

Hope Rachel got some helpful treatment today and is able to get some rest afterward, I'm sure it will wear her out.

Some days I read this thread and send up a prayer for whoever's post I am reading, sometimes when I am beat at the end of the day its easier to simply pray for everyone that reads this thread! But everyones' prayers do work, some of them just take longer than others:angel:

Praying that you got more information from the concussion center on the status of Rachel's condition and also that David had a fantastic orientation! Glad that Lisa did well with her singing even though Rachel wasn't there to help back her up.

Praying for your sister! Have you or your sister ever read the book, Heaven is for Real? There is a chapter in the book that deals with a miscarriage and what brought comfort to the mom after her young son, Colton told her about having two sisters. The mom corrected him and said that he only had one older sister. He told her that a baby died in her tummy and that he meet her when he had died and gone to heaven. The mother didn't even know that the baby she lost was a girl. Colton wasn't quite 4 yet and didn't know about the miscarriage. He described what she looked like and that she was adopted by God and didn't have a name. She couldn't wait for her mom and dad to get to heaven. The mom now knew that their baby was okay. The wound of losing the baby was starting to heal for the parents from that moment on.

This last part is from page 97:
"You do all the right things, eat all the right things, and you pray for the baby's health, but still this tiny baby dies inside you," she had once told me. "I feel guilty. I know in my mind that it wasn't my fault, but there's still this guilt."
"We had wanted to believe that our unborn child had gone to heaven. Even though the Bible is largely silent on this point, we had accepted it on faith. But now, we had an eyewitness: a daughter we had never met was waiting eagerly for us in eternity. From then on, Sonja and I began to joke about who would get to heaven first. There were several reasons she had always wanted to outlive me. For one thing, a pastor's wife has to put up with being used as a sermon illustration a lot. If I died first, she's always told me, she'd finally get to tell the congregation all her stories about me.
But now Sonja had a reason for wanting to reach heaven first. When she was pregnant with the child we lost, we had picked out a boy's name-Colton-but we never could agree on a name for a little girl. I liked Kelsey, she liked Caitlin, and neither of us would budge.
But now that we know our little girl doesn't have a name yet, we constantly tell each other, "I'm going to beat you to heaven and name her first!"

Hope this will bring some comfort to you and your sister at this time. I know I'll be seeing a brother in heaven one day that my mom lost in a miscarriage. He would have been the second child. I would have been born after him but instead I have a younger sister that I am close to here on earth.

That is so sweet of you and a great idea!! :thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing that!

Could I please ask for some prayers for John? We have seen a new, disturbing symptom. There are lots of possibilities but if it's what they fear it would mean more medicines and treatments and the very real possibility that his already compromised body couldn't handle it. I'm doing my very best to stay positive but could use prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Sending prayers and good thoughts your way for your husband, you and the whole family. I'm going to pop in your thread and say hi!!
