I am preparing for my first trip ever to DisneyWorld and was just wondering what are the little awesome things that you always to at wdw? What are those little things that makes the trip complete? I know they can't put it all in the guide books.

Pardon me for saying this, but I think everyone and every family is different. I don't think there is anything you have to do to make your trip complete every time. You need sometimes to go with the flow, and not be disappointed if you can't get to something.

So I guess if i had to answer your question, it would be to just soak in the ambience for a moment when you first walk in to any of the parks.

Yeah I know every family is different which is why I asked everyone to share what is magical to them, or what stands out for there family. Once again, I have never been- I was just looking for an outside the book review. I've read the guide books, I was just looking for some great things that complete the experience for some of the vets out there.

We always spend out last night in the Magic Kingdom - will get ice cream cones & sit watching the people leave the park --- we like to stay for the 'Kiss Goodnight'. Have a Great trip --- Remember The Magic!!!

I also love to end my trip with the kiss good night. My dd always falls asleep as we sit there but then she will wake up as we slowly make our way back to the bus she will wake up and turn her head for one last look at the castle. Last year she mumured in an ever so sleepy voice - Bye Mickey I'll be back soon! It was too cute.

I had to ask my family this question. And their answers were:

1. My kids feel you are not at Disney until you hit the Magic Kingdom.
2. My husband has to get his smoked turkey leg.
3. I say what makes my trip complete is the first smile I see on my childrens faces when they arrive.

For my family....no WDW trip is complete until we find Push the trash can in Tomorrowland! He is sooo much fun! The more you kid with him, the more he will interact with you! I recently found clips of him on Youtube and my kids and I were in stitches!
Last I knew....you won't find him listed in any guidebook!

No trip to WDW is complete until we've had that first Dole Whip or first bay of roasted almonds......

For my DH- it is the Dole Whip
For my son he said riding Peter Pan
For me- it's just seeing the castle on that first empty morning as we head into to CP breakfast.

For my DW and I, no trip would be complete without visiting our brick or having a bass ale while listening to the British Invasion.

Um... This question isn't that hard. How can you all miss the obvious answers?!

No trip has STARTED until you see the castle.

No trip has ENDED until you see Wishes.

Hey, congratulations on your first trip!!!! You will probably be tempted to rush through and see EVERYTHING. Well, DON'T!! Slow down and just enjoy the magic of being there. If you are like most of us... you will be thinking about the next trip before you go home!! So save something for next time!! :goodvibes

For my family I think that MAGIC moment happens when we first walk on Main Street and and see the Castle!! That MOMENT is always sooo tingly!!

For me, it's having a Mickey ice cream bar.

For DW, it's a Dole Whip.

For DD and DS, it's riding Mission:Space.

Mickey ice cream bars! We sit on a nice quiet bench by the Odyssey in Epcot and get Mickey bars and make a mess.

And, as a side note...sitting in the front of the monorail. Be sure to ask to do this.

I guess the magic starts a little easier for me.

The magic starts when we drive through those Walt Disney World gates!!!

The real world is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No trip is complete to my family without spending a lot of time in Fantasyland. We love Pooh, Small World, Philharmagic, Peter Pan, etc. This is the TRUE Disney atmosphere to us.

I am so excited for your family. You are going to have such an AMAZING time.

For my family, it's seeing SpectroMagic on our first night. And just for me... to bring back childhood memories... it's going to the Kone Cafe for some Tonga Toast!! A tradition in my family since 1979.

Have a wonderfully magical trip!

Great Thread! I love to hear what others have to say.

Mine is when you get off the plane and you have to take the tram over to the main terminal, the tram's narrator is the same voice as the monorail! I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it!

Please take 10 minutes out and sit on a park bench in the hub at the MK and just watch everybody, running around. It's amazing!

Enjoy you are about to start the best vacation of you life!
