No Trick-or-treating at Downtown Disney this year?

We're going to WDW from Oct 31st-Nov 4th. We will be flying into Orlando, arriving around 4:30pm on October 31st.

On our previous trip in 2004, we went trick-or-treating in Downtown Disney and my kids loved it, but I haven't seen/heard any official announcement that anything special will be going on at Downtown Disney on Halloween this year. My boys had been looking forward to it, and will be disappointed if there is no trick-or-treating this year.

Does anyone know for sure if they are doing the trick-or-treating this year, and if not, does anyone have any suggestions for something fun that we could do on Halloween night with boys ages 11 and 8 that doesn't require park tickets?

They are having trick or treating at DTD this year. It is from 5pm-9pm on both Thursday and Friday night. We did it a few years back, and had a good time. They also have tricks or treats over on the Boardwalk.

We are also flying in that afternoon and I called my resort (we are staying at ASMu that night) and found out that they are having a halloween party with candy. I would suggest calling your resort!

Thanks for the information. I had called 407 W-DISNEY last night and the person I spoke to said she they weren't doing it this year. I was hoping she was wrong! Guess I should have called the resort instead.

My kids will be so happy!

Cool, I never thought of that since we are going to the park at MK one night. My girls will be so excited!
