I don’t think there is anyway that you could back that up right now, that seems like a personal opinion. The numbers say something different, but it is still early with genie so time will tell more

This trip has been our worst ever. Genie plus has been a waste of money everywhere but MK. It’s glitched and canceled things and we got less than 3 rides at both Epcot and. DHS. They’d be better off doing paid lightening lane than this. It has put me in a horrible mood every day of what is supposed to be a fun vacation. They won’t be getting my money again my time soon.

For the first time in my life, I feel like Universal really "gets it" a lot better than Disney, which is super concerning to me.

I read some of the negativity before I left and wanted to try it for myself. It was a mixed bag. It worked well for us at AK. We fast passed every ride. I’d say the rest of the parks 4 rides except Epcot. It’s a waste of money there. MK was our biggest flop though and that’s the park everyone says it works the best. I’m not that impressed with it. Standby lines were shorter than our trips with the fast pass plus nightmare.

I think there’s a certain amount of luck and skill involved. I did a poor job on our MK day. I also think more people buy it at MK then at AK. AK it worked beautifully for us and we didn’t show up until around 10am. It was our first day using it and I think I got lucky.

On our last FP+ trip we only waited in one lengthly standby line at Navi River and it was terrible. I just couldn’t get it to pop up with refresh no matter what I tried so we just gave up and got in line.

I agree about that aspect of Fastpass+. One of the major downsides of it was how offsite guests were at a severe disadvantage in terms of booking. I stayed offsite a ton when Fastpass+ was a thing and I was able to get everything except for Slinky. The other big rides like FOP and Mine Train were almost always night times. Getting those times during the day when you didn't have the 60 day booking window was next to impossible in my experience but YMMV.

I was able to have successes similar to FP+ with Genie+ as well. After getting Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster in the morning, this was my evening stack that I refreshed quite a bit to get on my HS day on my last trip (this was 5/12)

To clarify, you were asserting that most people buy it and then realize they don’t like it, what I’m saying is there’s no way to quantify that currently, it’s all anecdotal from Disney fan sites

We’re not morning people, and being able to set up FP+ at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 was perfect. We didn’t have to be there until 10:45 and could hit the 3rd one right at 11:25.

We’ve been to Universal a few times but never stayed on-site. Standby has been adequate over there and we can still get the late night rerides without much problem.

I think onsite should always have an advantage. I personally feel like onsite should have advantages for everything, from Genie+ bookings to dining to booking extras like cabanas, tours etc. Any time I see onsite and off-site have an equal footing for anything in somewhat high demand I don't quite get it.
