all but 2 of my dates are during the blackout period and I did check air fares but there is nothing out there to match the fares we have now, not to mention it would cost us $200 in change fees. So no FD for us.

Still thinking positive thought and sending DH for hearing about the job.

YAY!!!!! I have been trying on the TA number all morning to modify for a client and no one can get through there at all. I'm gonna try later on again.

I know! It was crazy this morning! I have never had to wait that long to get through! Totally worth it though!

I did buy jewelry once in Nassau on our cruises. It was actually a really pleasant experience, a bit of sales pressure, but my DH wanted me to find something, so I did! Unfortunately, the ring I bought got caught on something and the setting of a side stone cracked and a small stone went missing. Dummy me, I forgot to bring it on our recent cruise and have them fix it!! I'll probably have it done here, because I really love the ring. Maybe that should be my B-day present!!!

Yeah, I saw you over there too! I read that whole thread! It was crazy busy! Every time I stepped away from the computer and came back, there would be 5 new pages.

We have finally arrived at our Castaway Cay day! This is probably the number one reason that people choose to sail on DCL. I know it is one of the things I am most looking forward to on the cruise. How could anyone not love it! I mean, where else can you see Mickey at the beach?

I am really hoping that we see lots of characters while we are there.

Our plan is to get off the ship as soon as we are allowed… 9:30 I think is the time.

I can’t wait to see this first thing in the morning!

Our number one priority for the day is snorkeling.

We are all extremely excited about this. We have never been snorkeling before, but DH and I have always wanted to. DD has been practicing in the pool all summer with her snorkeling set so she will be ready.

We want to do this first thing in the morning before the sand gets stirred up too much. I am really hoping to get some good pictures with my new camera. That is why I HAVE to figure out the underwater setting before this trip!

We are going to try our best to find some of the hidden treasures at the bottom of the lagoon!

There is one thing I hope we DON’T find…

His name is Barry…. I’m not kidding… Barry the barracuda. He lives at Castaway Cay from what I’ve been reading here on the DIS. He’s never bothered anyone that I know of, but I’d still prefer not to run into him. Every time I see that picture or read about him, I always envision that opening scene from Finding Nemo….

I don’t plan on having a similar fate as Coral and her eggs.

If we survive our snorkeling adventure, we plan on heading to Pelican Plunge next.

Or Spring-A-Leak for a few minutes…

Or we may just rent some floats and relax for a while…

... although neither DH nor I will look like the models in that picture as we are floating, and I am pretty certain that I won't be stroking his hair lovingly. But I digress...

We are also interested in the Stingray Adventure.

I just can’t decide which activities to book. We are certain that we want to do the snorkeling, and I am pretty sure that we will rent a float or two. I’ve checked the prices and it doesn’t cost that much more to do the all-inclusive package that includes snorkeling, floats, the Stingray Adventure, and 1 hour of bike rentals. I just can’t make up my mind though. Will we have enough time to do all that and not be rushed? Is the bike trail worth spending precious CC time on? Is the Stingray Adventure fun? If any of you have done the Stingray Adventure or rented bikes, I would love to know your opinion on it.

We plan to stay on Castaway Cay until they force us back on the ship! I want to squeeze every minute out of my time there. But once we return to the ship, we will have to clean up and get ready for Pirate Night! We are very much looking forward to this too!

I can’t wait for the fireworks at sea!

I ordered this costume for DD from Ebay for less than $10. I didn’t want to put much into it since she probably will never wear it again. (It doesn’t include the sword.)

I also found this hat and eye patch at the Dollar Tree! Can’t beat that for a one time costume.

Well, I think this pretty much wraps up the cruise portion of the trip. I have another shopping update to come and then we’ll take off for 7 nights at WDW!

That's what I am thinking. I can ride a bike at home. I don't think I will want to give up the beach time either. I just didn't know if maybe there were some nice views, overlooks, picture taking spots... that might make it worthwhile. Heck, I don't even know if that would make it worthwhile.

Maybe Anita will chime in on the Stingray Adventure.

And no, I'd be more likely to flip my DH off his float while he was napping than to stroke his hair! And don't think I'm a meanie, b/c he would do the same to me!

I think the pirate costume will work fine. We can add some touches to it and it will work just as well as a super expensive one. I just can't bring myself to pay much for a one time wear kinda thing. Of course, if DH will agree to rebook for 2012, then she'll get more use out of it.

I had to laugh at the couple on the floats picture! Did you notice there was NO ONE else in the water? I never saw anyone like that on castaway!

I don't think the stingray thing is really long. Anita can verify but it won't eat up half a day or anything!

We just basically got floats and enjoyed the beach. (and lunch). I think snorkeling and stingrays and floats would be a great way to spend the day. I don't know about biking, my SIL rented bikes and said it was fun, but that's all she said.

I have read from many people that getting the whole package can be a waste because they never have time to do it all. I do think next trip we will do some sort of excursion there though. We just rented floats this time around...actually a tube and it was the best $6 spent.

There is a lot more to do on CC than just what I listed in this post. There's a lot of excursions you can book. It's hard to make a choice! I really think you could make a whole day just out of the things I listed without doing an excursion.

Congrats on the free dining! They skipped over our dates and I don't think we could get it anyways since we book DVC room only.

Castaway Cay is just amazing! We're on a double dip and it was a major factor in my sister convincing us to go on this cruise with her. (I want to go on a cruise, don't get me wrong, but our AP's expire the week we're on the cruise so I was aiming to squeeze one more trip out of them since we're not renewing.)
I know we want to do snorkeling and tubes but haven't researched much else. Guess I need to get busy!!

Good luck to your DH. I hope they are true to their word and let him know something tomorrow.
